I always turn my hangars backwards after wearing a piece of clothing. That way I have a visual cue on what I’ve worn.
So many of us are in agreement, this is also a great way to pack for a trip. Packing is one of the things that I dread the most and takes me forever to do. This would make it so much more efficient. Plus I probably wouldn't overpack like I always do. Thanks, Angela!
Yes, this is also a good way to pack! I do this every time I go on vacation so I can see everything laid out before I put it in my suitcase 😊👍🏻
One influencer said one day a week wear a dress for no reason, your friends or Significant other will love it, and makes you feel good too! I've tried it and it's true!. I liked your outfit choices .
I’m now retired thank goodness but when I worked I picked out my clothes the night before . Now that I’m retired I don’t have as many clothes and I wear what I have and enjoy the items if it’s repeat no one knows but me . I still like to look nice but not concerned being in a rut I just enjoy .
My cat would just LOVE supervising my week's outfits laid out on the bed 😂
🤣🤣 same
@@Rnjeepshoelver Yep!
I'm going to assume that's the same for me as my cat is the best bed-making supervisor I know! lol
Keep the lint brush handy!
I used to do this when I was working in job were I had to dress up more. I also did this a couple of years ago when i bought some new stuff. I put it all together with accessories on the same hangers on the back of my closet doors for about seven outfits. That way I had something nice and quick if I needed it. Also works for church clothes. Lately I'm not going anywhere, so it is "at home" clothes for me! Thanks for all of your hard work putting these lovely videos together!
I have for many years try on clothes before wearing. I actually named this Practice Wears….I must say it has saved me so much frustration because I have my outfit ready to go for any occasions…now my daughters also say that Practice Wears really works! Great video
That is great! I agree....no frustration since you already put everything together beforehand 😊👍🏻
I do the same 😂
I am so excited to try this. I am someone who doesn't prepare outfits unless it is a special event. This will probably really help me! Thank you for your great ideas! I just watched your swimsuit videos also. Thanks again!.
I have been doing this for years. I put 44 outfits together in my closet ( I wish I had a walk-in) and I am ok from September and October. I am a French teacher in a high school. Save me time and frustration in the morning. Continue your good work I love it!!
When I went to got dressed this morning I looked at my clothes and thought I don't even know what to wear! I picked out a blouse that I wanted to wear and I tried on five different pairs of jeans before I found the pair that I liked with the top!!!
You are right, it doesn't always look like what you think in your mind!
You can also take photos of the outfits, either hanging up or on you. Print the photos and put them on a bulletin board or photo book in closet. It’s amazing how we purchase so many things that can be worn in a variety of ways. Great video.
Love your suggestion!
Great creative ideas, Angela! Especially good for people who don't have time to select their outfit first thing in the morning. When I worked in an office, I would choose my clothes and hang them on my closet door the night before. Planning is the key!!!
Such a fun video Angela😃 Every outfit looked great on you! So many cute looks, loved the outfits and accessories ❤ my fav is the cuffed jeans, white tank, pink cardigan with the leopard print belt & shoes! Where did you find those shoes? So cute ❤ This was so much fun! Thank you ❤
Unfortunately, I have only two pairs of jeans, but I have lots of tops. I do, however, rotate my tops. Your idea of creating an outfit for each day is brilliant!
Looked like a lot of work at first but it really paid off. Ok I’ll give it a go!! I’m totally in a rut😊
I don’t have the right closet space to hang the outfits. I do something similar but I lay the outfit out on the bed and take a picture of it. This really helps with the overlapping of jackets shoes or jewelry. I have 2 albums on my phone, one for summer and one for winter. Transition outfits might be in both albums. I have tons of ideas that I can refer to when I think I don’t know what to wear!! I do the same for travel… put the outfits together, try them on, take pics, and then pack them.
I’ve got so many clothes, I could wear something different every day and not repeat for at least a year!
Same!! Lol
I was like that! I have been reducing my closet for two years! No lie!
Wow ! you must have a big closet that's a heck of a lot of clothing 😅
This is also a great way to declutter! Because chances are if there are things in your closet that you weren't wearing, it's probably because they don't fit well. Or because they're uncomfortable. Or you just feel meh in them. So now when you wear them and are reminded of that, you can declutter them instead of putting them back in your closet. 😊😊
I’m retired. So I have a lot of time. But I have three small dogs who have to be there if I’m getting dressed. Why? I’m not sure. But they all have to be in my way. When I worked I wore a uniform. So it was never hard to figure out what to wear. It just depended on the weather. Now I usually just stay at home. And the only person who sees me is my husband. I wear anything that’s comfortable. Sometimes it’s sweatpants and sweatshirts. And I live in Georgia, and 50 is like freezing here too. I’ve gotten soft since moving here. And my blood has thinned.
I love this idea but I am pretty casual on weekdays, cleaning and walking dog. I tend to get into a leggings rut for sure and then feel ugly. I like that you jazzed up even your casual looks.
Even if you wear just leggings everyday, you can put different tops with them or add something to give you a refresh 👍🏻
I love this idea Angela! Perfect timing too. I’m getting so tired of wearing the same outfits every week . Thanks for doing this😘
❤️your 80’s style outfit you are wearing right now miss the 80’s so happy they are back😘🥰
I always get my clothes together the night before no matter what I’m doing. The whole week sounds great!
Same
you are so much fun to watch... makes my day when there is a new video... and my wardrobe has greatly improved !!
Thank you so much for saying that! I appreciate it 😊
Now that I am retired, I can play more with my wardrobe. Sometimes I pick one colour and plan outfits for the work week which all have at least one piece from that colour. So, one week will be red, and the next week might be blue. Weekends don't count. This adds a little fun and variety to my weeks, and some pieces get worn which I have not used in a while.
This is a fun video! Everything looked so put together!
Well done! Love your choices and great technique to get a jump on the week. Simply LOVE that swimsuit cover as a top. So chic! 😉
Excellent advice- a weekly capsule wardrobe. It makes it easier to get dressed and you can see what is missing from your wardrobe. Love the pink blazer! ☀️🌴🦩☺️😊🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️ it's too cold in Florida this week!!!
We have had so many cold days down here this winter!! I am usually in shorts and t-shirts everyday by now 🤣
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 I'm in Key West and it's unseasonably chilly here too!!
Such a good idea. I have things in my closet I have not worn in quite awhile. This will have me wear them or give them away. I appreciate all the work you put into your videos, trying on all the outfits is a chore in itself.
Thank you!! 😊
Helpful hints, thanks! I hang them in order of wear by tops so I rotate without repeat. Since I am still between homes (New Jersey and The Villages). I take a pic of my closet before I leave so I remember what items I have at TV 😊
Well, you certainly did give me some ideas, Angela. I don’t know if I could try to put together so many outfits at once though. I think I’d be overwhelmed, but I’d probably do three. I spend so much mental energy on what I’m going to wear, and the irony is, that I’m a substitute teacher and I work in a different high school every day. I could wear the exact same outfit daily, and no one would know! Duh! But I enjoy fashion and love your videos!
Another substitute teacher here. I DO wear an outfit two days in a row when I’m in different schools and weather is similar. I live in the PNW so this time of year I start building my outfit from the shoes first! Wet today? Ankle boots, then the pants that work from those, top, blazer. Dry and warmer? Pointy toe flats, pants or jeans, and on up.
This also is a great way to smartly organize travel clothes
I actually do this every time I travel so I can see everything spread out and evaluate what do I actually need compared to what I would like to bring
Great video. Angela 😊 Preplanning is always the key to avoiding aggravation and rushing around at the last minute ‼️ Thanks for posting and for all the work that you put into your videos 👏🏻🤩👍🍀💚
I use to do this when I worked. Retired over 10 years ago and have no need to do it unless I'm going somewhere. I still do it for travel plans, but it doesn't stop me from over packing.
I do this when packing for trips, even including my bra & underwear. 😅 The baggies for jewelry is a great idea! Now ya got me thinking, i need to do this for weekly planning for home & work. Thanks, Angela!!
Love this idea! Also… I absolutely love the wall art in the background (almost looks like shiny silver dollar shells floating in glass). Do you happen to remember where you got it?
Me too!! Luv shimmer!! ❤
Such a great, original video! Loved all the outfits you put together, you’ve inspired me!
I should have done that when I worked full time...might try it for at home ..sure I have seven to ten jeans/ joggers, tops and jackets. Thanks Angela ❤❤❤
I read that we mostly wear twenty percent of our clothes. I am going to rotate or donate😂.
I definitely need a few more bottoms, so I'm headed to some of your other videos for inspiration. I really appreciate your hauls with items we can add to complete a look💜
I always do this before a vacation so I know what I’m wearing. I do seem to keep pulling for the color pink (in different shades). Maybe I should try it for the week and branch out to a different color. Thanks for your great advice Angela.
Me too!! Get so sick of pink, that have to switch to blue etc!! 😅 ❤
Love your videos but you obviously have way too much time on your hands happily retired😂
I love this idea. And I absolutely LOVE your style. Every single thing looks so cute on you.
I put my hangers in backwards. Then place them normal after I wear the top. Trying not to wear the same thing all the time.
The beginning of every new year I turn allllll my hung clothes around hanger-wise in my closet. Then after I wear and wash I hang then ‘normal’….so I’m always trying to use things with the hanger turned the New Year way and rotate through. If I wear something and I’m not in love I laundernit and toss it into one of those foldable tote box deals from Walmart and once it’s full donate. Then the next New Year if it’s still turned from prior year I have a hard conversation about if I really need to keep or donate. Those that I decide to keep I then hang together in a section of the closet and if by the next year I haven’t worn them no question they’re donated!!
I also have a long closet with hanging rod on one side. So I had my husband hang seven small double hooks on the non-rod wall. I then hang my outfits on that wall each week to choose from. This method of pre-outfitting is a Godsend in the mornings!!!
Loved this video, Angela! It was so helpful as I never thought of laying out my clothes and jewelry this way. Appreciate all your effort in putting all these outfits together for us. ❤. Hope your weather warms up soon.
I do this exact same thing! I'll take a Saturday or a Sunday and I'll pick out my clothes for the next three weeks. I add my layering pieces, jewelry, belts and shoes as well. I repeat this until I have worn just about everything in my closet, that way I'm not wearing the same clothes on repeat. It also helps because I am always running behind in the mornings and clothes are the last thing I need to worry about when trying to get out the door. I have been watching your videos for just over a year and you have given me so much inspiration! Thank you for all you do, I appreciate you, your videos and your creativity!
Great video Angela! I would never be so prepared especially with the jewelry, something has to be spontaneous for me. But I do like the outfit rotation theory if only my closet had as much room as yours. I'll need to downsize the clothing first, the closet is stuffed. Thanks for all your great ideas. Blessings to you.
I am guilty of this. I have my favorite things❤❤ Your channel is my absolute favorite.
Wow! Thank you so much Kerry!! 🤗
I swear you give me so many ides and. you look adorable in anything you put on. I need moe clothes! Gr4eat video.
Thank you so much Gail!!
You have made this actually fun getting dressed fun again so inspiring 😘
I got myself out of a rut years ago
I’m enjoying styling , it’s fun and creative .
My self esteem improved ❤
Excellent advice! Love the idea for the jewelry!
Great video Angela, hope you guys are enjoying Florida! 🤩💛
Hey Pam! It has definitely been chillier down here this winter but still nicer than what we are used to 😂
You'd be shocked at the number of pants, skirts and topsc and dresses I own. I usually pair things up for vacation, but at home I let the weather and mood decide.
Great! But I’m guessing this will never happen😂😂
It won't if people don't set time aside to do it
Great video❤. I always choose my clothes to day before but I am going to chose all week now
I have an idea to share… you know what would be pretty and very easy to hang on the hanger, with jewelry accessories in it? Organza bags. Very inexpensive on Amazon or a craft store, and reusable!
I thought about that but did not have any hear when I filmed. I will reuse the zip lock bags too. 👍🏻
Thanks Angela! Great idea. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
I love every outfit such a fun video thank you Angela ❤
Thanks so much for watching! 😊
@@angelamasson-fashionover50 I never miss your postings thank you
Oh, everything is so cute! Each one was my favorite. Until the next and the next and…😂❤
You’re so good at putting a wardrobe together! Thanks for all the great ideas of ways to wear what’s already in my closet!
this is a very enjoyable and inspiring video🎀
Great idea. My outfits for church, doctor appointments out to dinner and weekend are all set in my closet. All I have to do is get it and go. No more what to wear ❤
Great video, I have never thought of this! It’s kind of like shopping in your closet!
Great ideas for grouping the ensembles. I’m going to try this for my business travel next week!
What good ideas. Thanks a bunch!
Angela, This is great way to plan outfits. I never thought to start with the bottom pieces! The cover up top is adorable! I love the 1 hanger, jewelry baggie organization and the rotation method!- Belinda
You are so right about pulling outfits, mixing things around and then setting them out for the week It really does add a bit of joy to getting dressed instead of frustration. The trick is setting aside the 15 minutes to do the closet hunting.
Sitting here getting ready to pack my suitcase since Im moving next week Fl to Cali and have to pack for a week before stuff arrives . New jeans are adding to my choices . Your video just helped me get going, thank you.
Fun video! I really liked your outfits!
Love your videos' Angela...always so helpful!!!...Thank you!!!xxx❤❤❤
Angela, I use this method when I'm travelling.
I'm retired but I love my work clothes. I am repurposing so many blazers with jeans and/or casual pants. Also, using dress pants with T-shirts. Will definitely try plan outfits so I can have fun using my clothing! Thanks for the tips Angela!
I appreciate your video and enthusiasm, but if you aren't wearing the clothes, why not get rid of them? Why rotate? Most people wear 20% of the clothes they have. So I have focused on just buying those types of clothes. I like simplicity.
Fun and useful activity! Thanks
I just found and watched this video. You made this look so fun that I jumped up and made 8 outfits including jewelry.
Way to make the hum drum of picking out clothes each day so much more exciting and something to look forward to.
And an easier way to downsize and declutter the closet when I pull out things that I know I won’t wear.
Keep doing all the great things you do. ❤️🥰👍🏼
🌻🌿 Thank you Angela this is such helpful advice🎉 {I would have placed a paper towel under the shoes on the bed😊} Hugs, you work hard for your Channel🌺🍃 Suzanne
You are so lovely and creative. Great job. Ty.
I really like your idea, all the outfits look great 👍 thank you ❤
Love the idea. Try taking a photo of you wearing all the pieces together so you have a fashion album full or styling ideas.
Wow! I'm very organized and get overwhelmed easy if things are not in order. That must be why I stand in front of the closet every day getting frustrated about what to wear...lol...I'm going to try this! 😉
Excuse me, but do you all usually change you outfit EVERY DAY? I wear the same outfit for 3 to 5 days, then I put everything to wash, then I prepare another outfit that I wear for other 3 to 5 days and so on.
I don't think we have to change every day, it is not ecological and it is complicated too
Well... I didn't learn anything because this is exactly what I already do. I feel validated, if that counts 😉 I did the baggie thing so much, they fell apart so I made bags out of fabric, with a zipper, and then a grommet to go on the hanger.
You're really brilliant! Another great video😂 thanks for thinking for us
and helping us out so much!❤
Yay, I'm glad to see other people style outfits, too, with jewelry and accessories. I too, put some jewelry in baggies. For shoes and especially boots, I take photos of the footwear (and purses) and hang the photo in a baggie from the hanger. To solve the problem of overloaded hangers, I make a loop tie from the top hanger to a hanger below holding the pants or skirt. It's just a 5-6" ribbon with the two ends tied together to go from the top hanger to the bottom one. This also frees up space on the clothing rod and allows me to change my mind on an outfit sometimes. Great videos. Thank you so much for fashion advice for regular lives.
Hi Angela, I love this! It saves so much time! You come up with some of the best ideas! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks Sharon! Have fun with it! 😊👍🏻
U are soo good!! Luvur vibe. Ill rewatch , good tips ! Other channels are too much work and money to figure out! ❤ 😅
crazily, like Picasso (remember his pink and blue period?), I get in a certain color mood and only want to wear that color for awhile... so no way am I rotating out of that color until I'm ready
Back when I worked full time, I often planned my outfits for the week. I made it almost a game to see how long I could go without repeating the exact same outfit, even if I only changed the accessories, or switched out a top. Now, I’m much more relaxed about the whole thing. If I buy a new outfit and I love it, I’ll wear it as often as I can because I know I’ll never enjoy it as much as I do right after I purchase it. Because I only work part time now, I can usually get away with wearing an outfit at least twice in one week-once to work and again for a lunch or dinner out. I also find that determining your ideal color palette allows you to build a wardrobe that is very versatile. I could see a clear trend in your color palette, and it makes it much easier to get the most out of your wardrobe. Great video!
This was my Favorite video of all time! I can shop my closet and deciding beforehand is a fantastic suggestion ( unless I change my mind 😉
Great ideas......not crazy about putting shoes on my clean clothes.....thats why we take our shoes off at the door.....those shoes have walked through lots of nasty stuff!😮
Glad you enjoyed the ideas! Enjoy…life is too short to get wound up over the little things 😊
Came here to say this. Let out an audible "nooooo" as she put the shoes on the clothes.
Yes! Just suggestion to place shoes in clear container or large ziplock then put on clothes 😮 😅 ❤ 😊
Great idea, Angela.
just do this in my head... though recently the weather has been rapid shifting from 20F to 65F so it is sort of chaos....
Love the pink blazer on you. ❤
Love the video but not the background music while you are talking. ❤
I usually wear my bottoms a few times, and change the top.
This is so helpful. For me, it will also help to identify clothing that doesn't fit and needs to be donated.🎉
Double bonus! 😊👍🏻
What I would do if it was feasible is everything that I did wear I would put it back where it belongs but I would put the hanger backwards on the rod.
Love your style Angela, you look great!
I’m going to try this. I’m retired and live in mostly jeans or leggings, but I chide myself on not dressing up more. I need more pants that aren’t denim
I usually pair things up as I'm putting away from laundry or like you, pop tops onto same hanger. Idk if it really matters or not but if I prefer to wash a load rather than wear something in closet its probably a sign i have too many things.
