No One Cares About STEVEN KWAN

  • The 2024 MLB season has had a lot of surprises. Yankees pitcher Luis Gil has been great even though no one knew his name before April. Bo Bichette and Julio Rodriguez have been bad even though they've been great in past seasons. And at the center of it all is Cleveland Guardians third year outfielder Steven Kwan. He's come out of the gate hitting close to .400 and is far better than he's ever been. Why is he so good?

Totally AGREE. Old school gritty action baseball. Love the guy. I wish baseball would move its present direction of POWER HITTING & PITCHING as the way. I don't like seeing half the roster as pitchers. Bring back more ball contact, defense, base running and ACTION. A game where maybe 2 or 3 pitchers used rather than the constant change of 10 or more interruption for pitching changes.

Traded injured Kwan and Kyle Tucker for Trea Turner and Yelich. Somehow I am managing to stay in the playoff hunt. Does help that I have Glasnow, Miller, J Steele, and Wheeler. But man, I miss Kwan on my squad

Bro went from zero power to having solid pop in one offseason without losing his contact. Absolutely insane stuff. Kwan and the Guardian's offseason development lab need to be studied.

He's been healthy his first two seasons so hopefully his recent injury is behind him. While I don't think he'll hit anywhere close to .400, I do think he'll win the batting title.

Okay cool but if he doesn’t hit 400 he’s irrelevant and if he doesn’t do it in the playoffs he’s also irrelevant. The last guy to do that was Ted Williams and if you want to count Votto sure. But there hasn’t been a full at least 140 games played season with a 400 batting average since him. It’s never going to happen in my opinion. But I could be proved wrong.

    • @blueskittles5449

You could say the same about Adley Rutschman, who's played fewer MLB games than Kwan but gets way more headlines. IMO if you're in your 3rd season, you've already proven you belong in MLB. Or if you're only talking about this season, nobody's even half way through so nobody is proven.

@blueskittles5449 I know. Hes clutch in big situations. He can easily start off rally innings. If anyone has a shot to beat the hit king, it's gunna to be him. Guys, a gold glover tares it up on the base path and has nerves of steel in the box. There is no one else like him.
And i'm not saying there aren't other good players in the mlb. I'm just saying he's the best all-around player, and there is no one else who has those types of qualities in big situations. Give me singles, doubles, and base running all whilst working a pitch count up in the at bat over 30 hrs and 70 strike outs. That's what makes this kid difficult to strike out.
