I remember that finish for two reasons: -the rangers 3B josh jung had just debuted and was *killing* us that series. For the walkoff hit to be deflected off him, felt poetic for a rookie who inexplicably gave us a hard time. -I screamed so loudly when we won, because one more win, and we would end the drought. A magic number of 2 games, I could still somehow see this team messing it up, but 1 more win... the finish line was finally, truly within sight.
Oh yea I remember Jung absolutely slaying Seattle that series. Tbh I felt like at that point them making the playoffs was inevitable but I get why people didn’t think that at the time
I watched that game at the bar down the street and then went to the clinching game the next day it was a beautiful 2 days of mariners baseball.
That’s so awesome!!! Awesome 2 days of Seattle baseball for sure!
I remember this game. I listened to Aaron Goldsmith's last call of that game more times than I care to admit.
@@Calamare Me too! Goldy’s the best
Great break down. I'd completely forgotten about this game.
Man, I miss this version of these guys.

I do remember this game yes it gets overshadowed by the game after but this was probably the 3rd or 4th best game of the season in 2022
Agreed!
I was there for this game. What an epic night!
That’s awesome!! Picked a damn good one to go to!
that's because the Mariners have done nothing since 2001.
"Jarred Kelenic sucks" and yet he's a key reason Seattle won the best game ever the goat simply never loses
Popped out with the winning run 90 feet away? Pfft that doesn’t fit our narrative
