I love your channel! Have an awesome weekend!
Father Diaz didn’t mention the second alter behind the cruciform... the second alter is used for the Tridentine form of the holy mass, which is traditionally said facing the alter and the celebrant only faces the people during sermon and communion, and instead of English it’s said in Latin... As a Catholic I respect

Good for you young man. Stay close to God and you will be rewarded.
This is the first time I've heard the Eucharist being explained as being three events at once: That every mass is: the Last Supper, the present moment, and the banquet in heaven - all simultaneously. This means so much more than I had previously thought. Thank you.
It's just a pity that he did not stress that it is the Unbloody Sacrifice of Calvary. The nature of a priest is one who performs sacrifice. Post Vatican II stressses that the Mass is a meal at table whereas it is a Holy Sacrifice that takes place on an altar.
And the Crucifixion... foreshadowed by the feeding of Mana, the feeding of the 5000, and the Mass given by the King/High Priest from the Order of Melchizedek.
Trekker, it is my understanding that the difference you identified is, in part, the difference between a symbol and a sacrament. Evangelical Protestants believe in symbols - baptism is a symbol, communion/Eucharist is a symbol, etc. Catholics (and Lutherans, which is my history, and Anglican?) believe in sacraments, which hold similarities while at the same time are definitely different. You might be interested in doing research on what a sacrament is and how they are part of these faith ceremonies and theologies. Am understanding in sacraments puts the actions into a whole new context. (The Catholic Church has seven sacraments while the Lutheran church has only two: baptism and the Eucharist.)
Trekker Mueth Thank you for your open mind Trekker I am a Catholic and it was so refreshing watching a civil and respectful conversation between two different denomination's - We Catholics believe in The Mystical Body of Christ, meaning " The True Presence of Jesus Christ in our 7 sacraments we offer" they become living sacraments because we believe our ordained Priest and Bishops have the power to call down The Holy Spirit amongst us to make those sacraments become living sacraments of the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ - For God has no past and God is not future He is always PRESENT ! - When the Priest does the sacrificial part of the mass, The offering of the bread and wine TRULY becomes The Body and Blood Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ " in the Eucharist Jesus is Truly Present." We do not repeat Cavalry we participate in the Cross at Calvary " you are truly present at Jesus sacrifice at Calvary through the Mystical Body of Christ." The power to call upon The Father through The Holy Spirit to change the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus is an awesome part of the mass performed in humility by the priest. Another living sacrament is the confessional booth, we believe the Priest who calls upon the Holy Spirit just becomes a vessel and we are actually confessing our sins to Jesus Christ himself, even though the perception a lot people have is that you are just confessing to a plain old man " no, the Priest becomes filled with the Holy Spirit and then we confess to a higher power and not just a man ! - There's just a couple of examples of we Catholics totally believe that our Church truly has the Mystical Body Of Christ and how our sacraments become Alive with the TRUE PRESENCE OF CHRIST - That's the heart of our Faith We Believe In His True Presence !!! - Hope I helped a little and TC.
@@mygirlpiper John the Baptist also confessed sins and the apostols.
This priest is really good at explaining the Faith in a way non-Catholics can understand. I can’t wait to see the second half!
The good father missed a crucial belief in Catholicism: The Eucharist is bread and wine transubstantiated into Christ's Body and Blood. We believe Christ meant it when He said, "This is My Body, This is My Blood". The Mass repeats, with His grace, a renewal of His Sacrifice done for our Redemption.
Just sayin'.....
@@jamesrobiscoe1174 he mentioned it lol. but he said the mass, crucifixion, and last supper are all, spiritually, happening at the same time.
@@jamesrobiscoe1174 Of course Christ meant it! He repeated it 3 times each time getting more detailed "eat" then "chew" then "gnaw". Finally, a video that shows respect on both sides. As a devout Catholic, I am happy that most people are seeing beyond the misconceptions that are taught about the Catholic Church.
Mary Alex (I mean no disrespect for what I say, and this goes for the large majority of Christians, not just Catholics.) From the perspective of someone brought up around Catholics and attending Catholic Church, you all seem such slaves to tradition, flagrantly disregarding even the most simple teachings of Jesus, preferring rather to live a life of worldliness and material wealth. Perpetually in pursuit of everything except the one who died for you. Where have they ever taught repentance? Baptism of the Holy Spirit? Let alone leaving all we have to follow Jesus. Even seemingly tiny things like calling your leaders “Father” is in direct contradiction with God (Matthew 23:9 ‘And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.’), it’s like you guys are just mocking him. It actually makes me sad.
P.S. Not writing this to discourage or bash you, so sorry if it sounded overly confrontational. Just getting my thoughts down on paper I guess. God bless Mary :)

I'm Catholic and I even learned MORE about my faith from this video! When it comes to Catholicism the history is so rich you kind of never stop learning. Thank you so so much for being so respectful and inquisitive, God bless you!!!
God created man, man created religion!
God created man to serve Him, man created religion for its followers to serve.
Man serves religion more than they serve God.
Jesus wants us to follow Him, not religion.
Jesus said I Am the way, not religion is the way.
Jesus said Follow Me, not follow me then pick some brand of worldly religion to follow also.
Jesus never followed a religion. In fact Jesus was against the religious people of His day and He even went as far as to call them the children of the devil.
The 12 disciples never followed religion, they only followed Jesus.
People seek after religion because Jesus and the Gospel are no longer enough for them.
As Jesus is no longer enough for them they create a religion to follow.
It is like the people of Moses' day, where the people created a golden calf and worshiped it.
Religious people always need a religion to go through to get to God.
Christians only need Jesus to get to Him and the Father.
Any time that a church tells you that you have to go through them to get to God it is usually a cult.
Christians will always attack religion because IT is not of God.
Catholics will always defend their religion because THEY are not of God.
You are either a Catholic or a Christian but you cannot be both.
Either you follow Jesus or religion but you cannot follow both.
Either you preach the Gospel or Catholicism but you cannot preach both.
Catholicism isnt Christianity.
It is mystery Babylon, the great harlot, the fornicator with all religions of the world.
And she will be made destitute!!
She will be stripped bare and cast into the burning lake of fire for all eternity.
Catholics love their pagan idols such as mary queen of heaven and baby jesus.
This mother and child were worshiped in Babylon as Ishtar and Tammuz, which is exactly what Catholics worship today.
In Egypt the mother and child were worshiped as Isis and Osiris or Horus.
In India the mother and child were worshiped as as Isi and Iswara.
In China and Japan they are worshiped as the mother goddess Shing-moo with child.
In Greece as Ceres or Irene and Plutus
In Rome as Fortuna and Jupitor-puer, or Venus and Adurnis
In Scandinavia as Frigga and Balder.
In Phoenicia as Ashtoreth and Baal.
It's time to turn away from religion!!
It's time to put DOWN your religion, pick UP your cross and FOLLOW Jesus!!!
Repent of your idol worshiping ways, repent of your religion, for the kingdom of Heaven is near!!
Only Jesus is the way!!
Jesus is the narrow path to salvation.
Catholicsm is the broad path to destruction.
Choose Jesus!!!

dak147 I doubt anyone worships pieces of wood and plaster and think that’s its God. “Catholics worship statues!” People still make this ridiculous claim. statuary forget about the many passages where the Lord commands the making of statues. For example: “And you shall make two cherubim of gold [i.e., two gold statues of angels]; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end; of one piece of the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be” (Ex. 25:18-20). Similarly Ezekiel 41:17-18 describes graven (carved) images in the idealized temple he was shown in a vision, for he writes, “On the walls round about in the inner room and [on] the nave were carved likenesses of cherubim.” During a plague of serpents sent to punish the Israelites during the exodus, God told Moses to “make [a statue of] a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and every one who is bitten, when he sees it shall live. So Moses made a bronze serpent, and set it on a pole; and if a serpent bit any man, he would look at the bronze serpent and live” (Num. 21:8-9).

This was a beautiful video! I was raised Pentecostal/Non-denom, and later joined the Lutheran church. 7 years ago (almost), I entered the Catholic church and then 4 years later, my wife and children joined me. You are right, there is truly a cohesive foundation of teaching stretching back to the apostles and their disciples/successors. My walk with Jesus has deepend beyond anything I could ever imagine in just these last 7 years. Now, I am following Christ's call to be formed as a deacon for the church and God willing, may be ordained in 2022. And lastly, at 26 minutes in, when you said, "maybe we can have a conversation about that before I go".....truly brought tears to my eyes, my heart swelled with love right there! That sacrament of confession/reconciliation has transformed my life in ways I find difficult to express in words. May God bless you brother in your journey of faith.

My wife was raised Pentecostal and she was/is seriously controlled by it and she’s very anti-Catholic and is really unwilling to even learn about the faith... what opened your eyes to the Catholic faith?
@@Alexander-fr1kk I went from Pentecostal to Lutheran first after a crisis of faith. The birth of our 3rd daughter came with many complications and we prayed and "stood in faith" - but I felt as if I had lost my faith when I gave up "believing" for the miracle and let the doctor's do what they needed to do. My daughter and wife were fine thanks be to God! But that led me to question much of my upbringing and what I had been taught from the scriptures. We examined all of the denominations, who started them, what they each believed - and chose Lutheran as the 1st Protestants. That gave me some handle on the ideas of sacraments for God's grace, etc - but that just opened more questions in my heart. Than I read a book by a respected teacher "How to Go from Being a Good Evangelical to a Committed Catholic in Ninety-Five Difficult Steps" by Christian Smith. He had converted to the Catholic church and after reading that book, I started to examine the teachings of the Catholic church from Catholic sources...and realized I had been fed myths and lies about the Catholic church all my life. Every obstacle I had to the Catholic church melted as I read from early church writers and examined scriptures with my Protestant lens. I entered the church in 2012 -but would walk that journey alone for 4 years as my wife and children did not enter with me. I was not sure they ever would....but by God's grace - they entered in 2016 as well.

The first recorded use of the word Catholic was used by St Ignatius of Antioch in AD 110, you know, the place mentioned in Acts as the place where the followers of Christ were first called Christians.
He said, “Wherever the bishop appears, let the people be there; just as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church” (Letter to the Smyrneans 8:2)
St Ignatius was a disciple of St. John the Apostle who was a disciple under Jesus Christ.

@Ardent Fan I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm most definitely on the most narrow of roads and am confident in my walk with the Lord. Please pray for me and I will for you. I'll even ask all of the Saints in Heaven to pray for you too!
@@yelaklleps You are on the right road. Stay the course. The Gospel of Christ is read at every Mass. Not so in the Baptist church in which I was raised. The old Testament would strangely dominate the sermons with the concepts of the New Testament largely ignored. Forgiveness and mercy. I've heard this from more than one fallen Baptist churchman: "we kill our wounded." PAX CHRISTI!

I’m a Catholic born and raised. Love my religion. I’ve never been interested in protestant churches but i’m always happy to see protestants gain an interest in the Catholic faith.
Equally I am always over joyed when Catholics come to understand what scriptures really mean.
@Steve R we know what the scriptures are but nice try
@@LMan86 I am sure that you know what scriptures are. Even atheists know what scriptures are. It is their meaning that eludes them.
It is always a warning sign when a religion states that only they know what scriptures say. the JW's and Mormons ate just 2 examples.
I am not starting an argument just showing the other side of the coin.
@Steve R you sound anti-Catholic to me but ok 🤷🏻♂️
@@LMan86 I have many friends who are Catholic and I am not against a single man. I am against the Catholic religion for its false teachings.

Father Diaz explained everything so beautifully. Sadly many protestants misunderstand the Catholic faith.
We understand it and have tried to reform it, you called us protesters, we are not. The RC is so far from the truth though, Thank God for the wonderful monk, Luther, for breaking off from this idol-worshipping, superstitious, power-down, temple nonsense.
This is beginning to change. 😂 keep praying for us.

john cummins your full of hate. Go confess
Carol dc Miehlich and more sadly oh so many Catholics have not a clue what Catholicism truly is and thus, a HUGE unintentional harm is done and that’s why videos like this help. It is not just the part of the laity who are ignorants fault, it is from the top down at least administratively wise however the majority of Catholics that are true Catholic faith followers of Jesus Christ church does can speak endlessly on the wonders and amazing things about it. Something that really tests my ability to not lose it is when a “Catholic” says “I’m not a Christian I’m a Catholic”. Catholicism IS CHRISTIAN ... like ground Zero at that! Praise the Lord for men like these two kind patient (virtue I’m working on... clearly) God Fearing men. This video is amazing and I can take a few lessons of their kindness and respectful manner they demonstrated throughout their conversations. God bless!
@@johncummins6655 it didn't need reforming. Other Christian denominatios started because they didn't want to follow what the Catholic Church has been teaching for since Jesus died. Instead, they cherry picked stuff from the church that matched their own beliefs and not what the church taught. Also my friend, I recommend looking up Bishop Robert Barron on RUclips. Scroll through all his videos, you'll find FACTUAL answers to all the things you listed in your comment.
Dude I wanted to cry so badly when he was saying he wanted to get a confession 😭😭😭😭 God is so good

wtf
I joined the Catholic Church at the age of 56, I grew up Baptist and believed that all Catholics were of the Devil. To say that I was prejudice of Catholicism is putting it lightly. But after reading through the Bible for 4 years, some things started to be revealed to me, I’ve been a Christian all my life and served in the church’s I attended, lead classes, I was even a deaconess, I felt that I was in a place where I knew God very well, but I guess I felt like I needed to step it up a notch. I said a prayer to God asking a simple prayer requesting to know God more and when I started reading through the Bible every year.
The year before I started reading through the Bible our Pastor challenged us to do so and I, being who I was, said I’ve been reading through the Bible all of my life, in other words I knew it all. But my Husband of 35 years went a head and took up our pastor’s challenge and completed the entire Bible the first year and I witnessed a transformation. So when the new year came a long, I took up the challenge and read through the entire Bible. It was good, so we did it the next year, and I kept asking God to reveal more. The third year I picked up a new Bible reading plan that reads through the Bible, but instead of reading cover to cover, you read the New Testament along with the Old Testament. That is when my eyes began to open. And my Husband and I were beginning to get excited, because the Old Testament was revealing the New and New was revealing the Old Testament. I didn’t know this at the time but the Catholic’s called that typology. At the end of my fourth year of reading through the Bible, we were heading into the Christmas Season and we were reading Revelations and around the 4th and 5th chapters something happened, I guess it had been happening for the last four years but now I knew, that I needed to become Catholic. It was in the 4th and 5th chapters that I recognized what Catholics call the Litany of the Mass. So we contacted the Catholic Church near us and it is amazing.
My Family doesn’t like it, they say the things I used to say. Oh and the Pope Benedict steps down and we get Pope Francis and all the news revealing all the bad bishops and priests in the church, how can I defend that? I grew up Protestant, I’ve seen everything. I’ve been through many Church breakups and have witnessed many pastors yanked from their positions for all kinds of reasons, I’ve lived through Tammy Fae and Swaggart, these are just the celebrities. The point is, we are all sinners in need of a savior and Jesus is my Savior. Everything I was taught about the Catholic Church growing up were just stories. Like Catholics don’t read the Bible, wow, we have Mass everyday, and the Old Testament is read then the Psalms, followed by the New Testament and completed by a reading from the Gospels. This is every Mass. God brought me closer all the way to Heaven.
Welcome Home Ma'am and God Bless You. Please include me in your prayer.

I've been watching many of your videos. As a Catholic Christian, and a former Protestant, I thoroughly appreciate how you ask questions, are inquisitive, but most of all, you are not judgmental. Because of this, I have also learned more about my own faith and tradition. Thank you!!!

The more you learn the more you’ll realize there’s some very legitimate criticisms of the Roman Catholic Church
There in lies your problem. Being Judgmental and Discerning is a Good Thing as long as you are being Honest and Loyal to GOD, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Christ throughout his 3 year ministry was severely judgmental and for Good Reason. The average Catholic has little to no knowledge of Catholic History or Doctrine. Study that for several years as I did then, tell me about Loyalty to Pagan (Man Made) Doctrines.

I’m a Catholic convert from Protestantism and I was not surprised by your reaction to the confessional. When I was was going through RCIA, I was most nervous about the upcoming confession, as I was a pretty rowdy person and had some doozies to confess. However, when the moment came and I struggled through that first confession, the priest was amazing in his support, counsel, and overall demeanors decision tone and while I’d confessed these things and apologized to God for them in the past. Something about hearing some pronounce the words of absolution over you is powerful. I practically skipped away from that confession feeling lighter than I had in years. Since that time, I still get nervous before a confession and I’ve have some great priests and counsel and some that weren’t as good, but regardless I’m always glad I went when I’m done.
You are a baller!
How long did it take to do rcia
I get it!!! I always look forward to Reconciliation with excitement and dread at the exact same time. Truly confronting my weaknesses and sins is sooooo uncomfortable. I believe it should be, so we can let go and let God love us. Praise Jesus that he gave his priests the gift and authority to ‘ bind and loose ’ (MT 16:19 and MT 18:18) all for us to truly be able to accept Christ’s love for us as sinners, should we allow the forgiveness ❤❤ peace and Christ be with you.

I hadn’t gone to confession from first communion (2nd grade) to 10th grade when I moved to a catholic school. Went to church every week, every holy day of obligation, every holy day but was too scared to go to confession. Now I go every month (which isn’t a lot) but I still get nervous.
Former Catholic - Not sure why... but when you said you sat for confession I welled up big time. Maybe it's something I need to work through personally or because of what you said but it hit me like a ton of bricks. A powerful vision for me for sure and indicative of your respect for Father Diaz. Love this series! God Bless you and your ministry.

As a Protestant we really need to step up our game in our confession and even admission of temptation to each other. We need each other. We can be so arrogant and individualistic.

Friend, you are a Protestant Christian, I am a Catholic Christian!!! Some Christians of different sects antagonized other Christians because of their way of worshiping!!! They didn't know that "We learned different teaching but we have the same SPIRIT! We have different Ministries but the same LORD and we have different activities but the same GOD who works all in all." (1 Corinthians 12:4-6)
@@ThrivolousZ I'll never confess to a Catholic. Only to God Almighty and my Christian brethren. When I was a Catholic, I confessed last to a Catholic "priest" at 15. That perverted individual should be in jail for the questions he asked me. The Catholic Church needs to be burned to the ground. Starting with the pope in Rome who sits on his golden throne. You can take my words to the bank. All Catholics need to repent and put their faith in the Jesus from the Bible. Catholics and Christians who side with them need to read Galatians 1 again. A different gospel will have you accursed.
40yrs in desert going from temple to temple, trying out different protestant churches, i still felt like a lost sheep..Then one day at my darkest day, God took my hands & brought me into Catholic Church. I went thru RCIA. Upon my baptism, as the words were read out, i felt Jesus' baptism came alive in my baptism. It was amazing. I knew at once there and then, I hv come home to God. All the things i heard, taught from different pastors, protestants , especially scriptures from Bible that i was confused or not feeling its realness have all finally started to make sense to me, forming this big complete picture to me as I grow my faith in Catholic Church. This is what Jesus wants for us. The beauty of it is so universal as its name Catholic means universal, i am home each time at mass even i can be in different church, different country. Each mass is an experience of Jesus in person and God's love for us!
Thank you God for bringing this lost sheep home! In Jesus' name I pray all protestants will eventually experience what i experience cos we are one brother and sister in Christ and it is here we can pray and feel the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as One Living God, our King of Kings!🙏😘

Having been an atheist then converting to Catholicism I was struck by how awesome confession is. I feel so free when I leave. I have a Protestant friend who was talking down about confession while at the same time complaining that he doesn’t feel he can talk to someone about his sin without worrying they will not be able to keep the conversation private. I would encourage anyone to try confession.
You could always just talk to God, there’s no need to speak to a priest. Repent and pray to God, confess your sins to him and he will forgive them.

I am Roman/Latin Catholic. But in situations like this, it's not necessarily important to state which rite I observe since they all have the same faith. Hence, simply "Catholic."
Tyler Ross sorry, didn’t get your point :)
No worries man! Honestly I only refer to myself as Roman Catholic when I'm talking to Eastern Catholics or Orthodox so I really can't say I was even trying to make a point here haha
Thank you for doing a Roman Catholic field trip. I'm excited that you loved Confession! It is one of the many treasures that we Catholics call the Sacraments. I can personally attest to the power of The Sacrament of the Anointing of the sick. My mother had advanced, metastasized Cancer (Endometrial) - metastasized meaning it had spread into her lymph system. Mom refused Radiation, Chemo, some other treatment her docs recommended and instead chose to "Offer it Up" in union with Christ's sacrifice - basically she accepted the Cross given to her. She received the anointing of the Sick and one year after her surgery (to remove the organ most affected by the cancer) she had a full body CAT scan. Zero cancer present. Her doctor couldn't believe it. For a moment there he assumed she did the treatment he recommended, but not at his hospital. She said, "No, I called the priest and was anointed and prayed for". "Is any among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, an the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven" - James 5:14-15 .
Greetings from among the Pentecostals, I share your joy and praise God for this healing in Jesus' Name! Jesus is alive and still saving and healing!
@@310McQueen Thanks Jason. I chuckle at your greeting because I was a member of the Assembly of God for years, before I married a Baptist - which was a bit weird since there are some major doctrinal differences. Our pastor used to call me a "Bapticostal"- but I never actually bought that once saved always saved thing. I went from Bapticostal to Roman Catholic a couple of years ago. But I digress. Yes, Jesus is alive, the Holy Spirit Still moves and miracles and prophesies have never ceased.
Christi Dea So now you believe most likely you will be suffering in purgatory for perhaps years, according to Popes
Wgaither1 Purgatory isn’t a bad thing.
@@Wgaither1 Quite possibly, but Purgatory is a mercy, not a punishment. I've been studying it quite a bit lately. It's interesting, after the fall, God places angels wielding swords of fire to keep man from paradise. Shadrack, Mishack and Adindego dance in the furnace and are never burnt. St. Robert Bellarmine postulates that we all pass through the fire, it's a matter of will we pass through it like the three Hebrew friends in the book of Daniel, unsinged, or will we be carrying a load of straw that will be consumed in the fire (as our Lord tells us not to be attached to the things of this earth, as they are like straw for the fire. Matt. 3:11 tells us that the Lord will baptize us with the Holy Spirit and with fire. I'm beginning to wonder if that fire is not passing through to the entrance of paradise/ heaven...it's just some will pass through quickly and some will stay until all their worldly attachments to sin have been burnt away, as gold is purified. "8And in all the land, declares the LORD, two-thirds will be cut off and perish, but a third will be left in it. 9This third I will bring through the fire; I will refine them like silver and test them like gold. They will call on My name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘They are My people,’ and they will say, ‘The LORD is our God.’” Zechariah 13:8-9

Hi father. Im catholic from indonesia. Here we call priest as Romo, javanese for father.

As a devout Roman Catholic I can say this is a really solid priest. I really love how you are always eager to learn and respect everyone. Much love
I’m Christian Catholic woman, originally from Lebanon. I came to Europe long time ago , and never had a relation with the church . I hated the church because my mom was forcing me to go to church without telling about the love of God and what he did for us , I think she didn’t realize how much was important for me to tell me as a kid why I should go to the church , I came to Denmark and believe me I had a very very very tough time in my marriage . I got divorce and I made all kind of sins to find love . My youngest son as 15 years old stopped believing in Christianity and started believe more in Islam , and he is still. I think he wants to be a part of his friend circle even he is denying that . Because he never prays or fast Ramadan or read in Quran. When I new that my son stopped believing in Jesus . I met some arab Christian people from different countries , most of them are Assyrian means Catholics from Iraq and Syria , and some of them from Egypt but they are Protestants and Anglicans, and few who also from Iraq are Anglicans . The group leaders were The Anglican and Protestant . They opened my eyes to Christianity and to the Bible, I will never forget how they treated me our how much they prayed for me truly. I started to read and to search a lot . They started to change my knowledge about many things in the Bible , like fasting , they were saying why should you fast ? Or about purgatory or the priesthood, the Nuns , the Fathers , the confessing , the Virgin Mary that she had kids , about the Communion Jesus flesh and blood, about the rapture and the millennium and many many things, I can’t count how many differences between Anglicans and Protestant vs. Catholics and Orthodox .. I started to believe in their beliefs but I felt in my heart and my logic that there is something wrong , it’s not right what they are telling us. We disguised with them but they are stubborn and some times we fought 😂 any ways I started to search deep and read the Bible very close and I opened my mind to read Gods words and I prayed for the Holly Spirit to guide me. I really don’t understand how Anglicans can’t see the truth ! It’s front of ur eyes people!!! What happens in the Catholic Church it’s exactly from the Bible . The confession , to repent , to eat Jesus flesh and blood as he said it many times to his disciples , he didn’t tell them it’s metaphor , he said that again and again . After 2 years searching , I’m still going to that arab meeting to pray together because I really love them , but I don’t discuss with them any more about our beliefs and understanding.. I will not love them more if they believe as I do , because I love them from all of my heart with their mistakes and hardheaded ☺️ I go also to my mother Catholic Church every Sunday and you know what ? I’m just in love in my Church , the fathers there are so humble and lovable, I really see Jesus in them , they are 4 priest who lives in the church , 2 old now and 2 new young in 30’s , I truly truly thank God for this Church , and they never spoke about other churches , they say at we Chritians no matter what church you follow , we are brothers in Jesus . You know , when I go to the Church after my vacation I feel now I’m home , I feel warmth in my heart lol I’ve got tears in my eyes now for the love of my heart to my church , we are so quite in the church , we are not loud in the church , but we are praising the Lord in our heart , when we go down in our knees to celebrate the Eucharist Jesus sacrifice on the cross we also meditate in the moment and we connect in the communion , we sacrifice also our self with Jesus to be one crop the flesh from the same flesh and the blood from the same blood . I’m sorry if I wrote too much , but I just felt that I need to talk about my journey with faith . My son is still not a believer but my other children came to Jesus and they are strongly believers specially my daughter . Thank God for that 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 but I have faith and hope none can shake it that my children are to the Lord Jesus Christ praise his name 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 pray for my son Andreas the one who is not believer , and to my older son Ibrahim to come closer to Jesus heart and to the Church , I pray to God to unchain Andreas from every thing bad in his life and to open his eyes and heart to see the truth and the righteousness. God bless you all . Keep me in ur prayers and my children 🙏🏻❤️✝️ Jesus peace is with you all

I'm not catholic or even christian anymore for many reasons, but that is not what I want to talk about. When I was a catholic my protestant friends always made comments like "I don't need a priest to intercede. I can speak to God directly." But what I think that Protestants don't really understand is that it is easy to confess to an invisible god when you are alone in a room. But confessing to another human person is very difficult. You make yourself vulnerable. I have spent many Friday afternoons in the confession in tears. There is a powerful catharsis in catholic confession. And if you have a really good priest your penance will not just be prayers. I have one priest who would tell me to do things like "go home and tell your mother you love her." or do something nice for someone that I may have hurt. Those were always the most difficult forms of penance and the best. The feeling of lightness afterward is amazing.

Virginia Boone the only light of the world is Jesus. Everything else is false light. No matter how beautiful it is.
Maria Robles, the true light of the world is indeed Jesus, He is present in the blessed Sacrament. The theology is based on John 6:32-68. If you believe Jesus is God, the second person of the trinity, who with the Father created the heavens and earth, ...walked on water, turned water into wine, ...could He not sacramentally turn bread into his body, and wine into his blood? May the peace and blessings of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit be upon you.
@@vaboone Christ poured his divinity into the Eucharist, the night before He died. That is the significance of the Last Supper... so that when Christ walked Good Friday... He walked as man. He remained God... but allowed His Vision of the Father to be so clouded by our sins... because Christ literally BECAME sin... for us. He BECAME the scapegoat from Exodus... that we must stare at our sins (the serpent) nailed to a wooden cross... and then understand that Christ IS THE ANSWER which God made... that Christ is the restoration of Perfect Justice (ie righteousness).
Yes, Christ is wholly present in the Eucharist... and when we receive it, we are receiving Him... because God is not just inviting us to a personal relationship... He is inviting us to UNION... which is far more than any of us yet grasp.

Def Man Amen!!
As a person who was a Protestant most of his life, away from God and is now a Catholic I really enjoyed your video. It shows a very open mind and understanding heart. Very well done Matt and it is an interesting interview, especially being on both sides of this fence. Thank you!!!
I have a vivid memory of making my first penance in third grade, and how I felt like an entirely new person when I walked out of the confessional booth. I hope Matt found it as edifying as I did. Since then I fell away from the Church, but with God's help I'm slowly making my way back in. Please pray for me.
Amen....

Amen. You are in my prayers! God Bless!

Good for you, Matt. As a devout Catholic, I’m very grateful you used your platform to honestly investigate Catholicism. In this dangerously modern culture we live in, most people outside of communion with the Church are severely misinformed about Catholicism (many times, through no fault of their own!). The Church is in a tumultuous time, and the faith of many is in a terrible state; evidence of this is that a number of Catholics remain ignorant of essential truths - mainly the Real presence of our Lord and Savior in the Eucharist.
I want you to know, that it is practice to get down on your knees to genuflect in the presence of the tabernacle (I wasn’t sure if Father did so, perhaps his health doesn’t allow for it anymore); this is because it holds the most precious body of our Lord and Savior.
In addition, many Catholics still receive our lord kneeling and on the tongue; the reason is that we are not permitted to “take” the body of our Lord, only “receive”. By humbling ourselves and receiving the Eucharist on the tongue, we are acknowledging the words that are spoken at Mass: “Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed”. At the moment we receive the Eucharist in a state of grace, our venial sins are immediately washed away... There is no greater part of my week. The sacraments transmit the grace of God into us. I want nothing more than to see more people united to God and lead towards Him through His Church :) People like you are doing the world a favor - continue to pursue the Truth honestly and without apology. Praying for you!
Thank you for mentioning the importance of genuflecting before the Blessed Sacrament and how the Holy Eucharist must be received - kneeling and on the tongue. It is true, most Catholics seem to take lightly the real presence of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
@@kerenstar13 A very unfortunate cancer in the Church, no doubt a result of the materialism and lust for all things modern by many in the American and European (western) culture. It makes sense the Church is thriving in Africa - when there is no excess to attach one's self to, all that remains is our Lord. We're not as blessed in the West as we think we are. There is more to life than the freedom to do as one pleases.. Martyrdom remains the higher calling.
I didn’t grow up in the states but I was raised Catholic. In every Catholic Church I’ve been to, I’ve always felt at home. Even from the humble church to the ornate cathedral, it’s where I feel at peace. I love the church and we’re truly blessed to have our home in almost every country around the world. Love this video!!

I came into the church this Easter. I was Protestant my whole life, and it wasn't until our children started attending Catholic school, that I started asking questions and wanting to learn more. I appreciate that you put this together with an unbiased standpoint. You're absolutely right, all denominations are based on their interpretations. I grew up around people that vilified Catholics, and now that I am one, I discovered that their opinions about them were just that, their opinions and interpretations. They have no way of knowing they are right any more than the Catholics do. At the end of the day I say that it is our faith in Christ and our goal to live a life that follows His teachings through faith and work.
Stand alone on the Word of God. I think Catholics can get too much into their traditions. And sometimes they can truly go astray from the truth. But many of the Catholic traditions are beautiful, they truly are.
@@truthhunterhawk3932 These traditions were carried on for 450 years after the death of Jesus before the creation of the bible. I always appreciate your respectful approach to other faith traditions. My paternal grandmother was Southern Protestant and gave me my first Bible. My mother's side of the family were Catholic. I went to Mass with my mother's family, a non-denominational Christian church when I visited my Grandmama, and attended Quaker Meeting with my father. (Plus Ive learned about Judaism, Buddhism, Sufism, and some traditional Islam.) I am active as a Catholic, but have an appreciation for the beauty of other faiths, and wanted to say thanks for presenting other faith traditions with dignity and through a sense of open curiosity.
As a practicing Catholic, I applaud you for being open and so interested in our faith without having assumptions about us. Father Diaz explained it beautifully. You were so respectful. Really dig your channel.
Matt, I truly enjoyed this. I'm a Catholic now but grew up Methodist and non-denominational. Just wanted to say thanks for your humility and excellent spirit of good will. Thanks for going outside your own box. May God bless all your efforts and crown them with his success.
Thank you for being reasonable, open-minded and not prejudiced.
I am a convert to Catholicism after 50 years of mocking and bashing it. I understand the misconceptions very well, as I promoted them for many years until I started asking real questions of actual Catholics rather than my fellow protestants.
The world needs more of what you do, regardless of denomination. We may see some things differently, but we get nowhere by trying to make each other feel "wrong". I know, because I tried doing so for so long.
Keep up the good work, and God bless you.
