I was born and raised Lutheran and the more I dive into the bible the more it looks like the Catholic church has all the right answers. I long to be Catholic and be part of a world wide church, that honors life and has options for women to have a vocation within the church. I long for leadership that oversees the churches and keeps them on the right track. I want to hear about the Saints back through history and all the great miracles that have happened. I as a Lutheran only hear about Martin Luther and quite frankly I'm not so proud of that anymore. I wish he never broke away and I was back within the Catholic church. I am currently starting the process to become Catholic. I want to follow Jesus to the Lord's supper in a real way! My faith is leading me back to the Catholic church!

The RC church idolises dead bodies. Exhumes them removes their hearts so that they can be worshipped on altars in churches. If they do want to make them saints then ok but let their bodies rest in peace. Stop putting them in glass cases just to bring people to view them.

Well I just saw you on the catholic answers stream if you remember, I myself am currently a protestant, but this sect is starting to seem wrong to me, and I have been studying catholic and orthodox a lot lately. For V2... clearly that was a big turning point. However, some catholics insist it isn't a doctrinal problem, but rather what the council has been used for. Ie; it can be easily twisted. And perhaps that was the reason for its invention in the first place. For me the V2 does indeed seem a but sinister itself, but I imagine this would be the catholic defence. Anybody denying it has been used to create a nightmare is delusional or a liar. Why don't you join the Eastern Orthodox (this is not me making a suggestion, I am actually just fishing for your reason for my own information and study purpose. Apart from a few remaining doctrinal problems, it is starting to seem like I should join one or the other. Maybe you can assist)?
@@johnjames1590 The Orthodox embrace the teachings of Palamas (divine energies which are different from the substance [ουσια] and his definition of theosis) and I therefore would not join them. There was a time when I was more Orthodox-leaning, especially when reading the Greek church fatheea defending the Deity of Christ during the Arian crisis. There even was a short time when I was more Protestant-leaning. And I actually do think that the Bible is all you/a Christian needs. However, if you study the first Protestants (Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Melanchthon) you really start to see how they perverted the gospel. Let me make one thing clear though. The average Protestant who doesn't know better and trusts in Christ is a sister/brother in Christ for me. That's one of the reasons I'm not a convinced Catholic. I don't like the idea of extra ecclesiam nulla salus (and the idea of a Pope in the Catholic sense too). So what I'm looking for is a church that just follows the Bible, period. Without anathematizing other Christians. Without Luther's sola fide and justification doctrine. And since most/almost all non-denominational churches/communities are Protestant, I stay in the Roman-Catholic Church. I at least agree with the Catholics on the 2 most important doctrines of Christianity: the Trinity and the gospel/salvation/justification. There's one channel I'd like to recommend you: vaticancatholic I disagree with the Sedevacantist position (extra ecclesiam nulla salus), but they have good videos on pure Catholicism and Vat2.

You don’t want a reply. Your borage or rapid firing questions would require a a theological thesis. It’s evident that you aren’t posing sincere questions but firing your pre-programmed accusations fed to you by your Catholic hating pastor. As a "protestant" (not sure if the word really defines me) I have to acknowledge that father Meyer was definitely inspired by the Holy Spirit when writing this sermon. And it's true we are filled with misconceptions, and we do share a lot of common ground. I believe we should work together more often, be tolerant, respectful, and above all praise God as one.
If you're not Roman catholic then they consider you a heretic. In times past they would have persecuted you and killed you for your current beliefs. Its the opposite of the genuine church described in the New Testament.
You need to embrace the (traditional) Catholic faith as it in the only true faith in Christ, the Catholic Church is the true and only Church of Christ, today's Vatican II Counter Church is not the Catholic Church.

Jesus never formed a religion. A religion is a human wsy to reach God. Jesus was THE Way. He was THE Truth, and THE Life. Jesus was neither " protestant" neither Roman Catholic. I love that we have a choice to participate in our salvation. I don't believe that all you have to believe. I believe that Christ's death and resurrection is enough but I also believe that we can join Christ in that salvation.
Only two days ago a man claiming to be a Protestant Pastor came to talk the right Church with me ofcourse as all protestants, he had his points to accuse the Catholics. As you know how the Protestants first go on babling about idol worshipping and Mother Mary, I reminded him of the last wish of Jesus in Jn.19:25-27. And that we in the Eastern world respect mother and father of our best friend or wife/husband. So if Jesus considered us as His FRIENDS then we should respect the Mother of Jesus especially when Jesus Himself specifically said 'Mother here is your son and to His favourite disciple Jesus said here is your MOTHER'. The Church of Jesus established on the Rock Foundation of (Simion now changed to Peter = Rock) But they interprete that the Rock is Jesus Himself and I asked him how he would enter his own house if he did not have the KEY, he stumbled to give the correct answer. Then I told him if the rock was Jesus Himself then how is it that Jesus gave the KEY OF HEAVEN to Peter. And without being a believer of Jesus through His own Church taken care of by His appointed Earthly Leader Peter how will the Protestants enter the Heaven, is it through the window like a thief ,? So he could not answer and walked away. Then I told him that the the purpose of becoming Christian is to have EVERLASTING LIFE IN HEAVEN,BUT ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE THE HEAVEN HAS A DOOR AND A VERY NARROW DOOR OF WHICH THE KEEPER OF THE KEY IS PETER BY AUTHORITY OF JESUS. He just could not answer and walked away.

You forgot a very important one (which was the most convicting ti me as a protestant), which is "Where is that in the Bible?" . the question Catholics can ask protestants is "Where did you get your bible?" That was the most eye-opening for me.

If so then church gave you the truth, the church Christ established and promises the "gates of hell shall not overcome it" (Matthew 16:18) so it would be calling christ a liar the Catholic church that is founded by Christ to have lost it's authority. A person cannot call herself a Christian if doubts Jesus words in the Last Super and does not believe that the Eucharist is the Living God. Jesus is present in the Eucharist and that is the Christianity's core.
Christ be with you I find most Protestants do no understand what we are told in 1 Cor 10:16-18. It reveals the Mass is a sacrifice,. To partake of this sacrifice we eat that which is sacrificed. The only way we can do that is if it is actually his body and blood we receive. At the last supper Jesus turned his execution into a sacrifice for our sins. God bless you

Good Jesus was talking literally during the last supper should we still cut our hand off to make sure we get to have because if the hand cause you to sin than cut it off? I'd say the U.S. really needs God and is beginning to more collectively reject God. We have many good priests with varying gifts; many of those with an extraordinary ability to preach. But their abilities aren't going to matter if they are in a field by themselves preaching to trees (unless they are St. Anthony). Only the Lord can penetrate through hardened hearts.

I believe that the Bible says in one of the Gospels (I'm not exactly sure where) that faith without works is dead. Thank you Father and bless you for sharing such an amzing inspiration with the world!
"Faith without works is dead" is from the Epistle of James. This book was one of the two (the Book of Revelation) that Martin Luther tried (unsuccessfully) to have removed from the Bible. He did manage to remove the seven Deuterocanonical books, which also disproved his warped theology and interpretation of scripture.

Intrinsically, it all boils down to this, where is the authority coming from? Is the source coming from human minds and traditions that trump the Bible? Or do you let the Bible speak for itself? I think Father Meyer does a wonderful job demonstrating that with the Catholic church, the ultimate authority rests on human minds and traditions so that the Church can be flexible and adapt to the times. So that the Catholic church, not the ancient bible, can determine what is considered good. So that the church can decide who and what we can/cannot worship. So that we can use our actions to justify “how good we are” to our final judge so we can work our way out of purgatory. 1. Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior 2. Why do you call Priest Father 3. Why do you worship Mary 4. Why do you have a pope 5. Why do you worhsip Statues and images 6. Why do you confess your sins to a priest 7. Why do you baptize infants and 8. Why do you believe you are saved by works?
The answers to your questions are in the bible. Some of your questions were answered in this video and are rejected therefore repeating them will not convince those who refuse honest answers. Surely distortion of answers given is not a basis for their rejection. When It comes right down to it, the source of all the answers is the same bible that the Catholic Church preserved and protected for centuries before the protestant reformation that adopted parts of the bible even as the original teachers are rejected. So Athanasius, the first to list out the books of the New Testament, was just another guy? Then how did he know which books to choose? Ummmm. Do you recite the Nicene Creed? No we do not believe in the decisions of the church councils. But Nicea approved the list of the books of the New Testament. Who are you to say St Athanasius was correct in selecting these books to be the New Testament but you reject his Creed? Joseph Jacob What a childish response. I live two blocks from St. Matthew’s RC Cathedral. Cardinal McCarrick was recently defrocked by the pope because of sexual abuse. HIS abuse. Cardinal Wuerl was tossed out after the church demanded it for his covering up more cases of pedophile priests. Look, you can whine all you want and go into denial forever. But the truth gets out. And I make reference to one Cathedral only. ! The last pope Ratzinger was part of a joint Anglican- Roman Catholic Evening Prayer liturgy at Westminster Abbey. Archbishop Williams almost pulled out at the last minute when it was learned how much Ratzinger was involved in his own cover ups. Williams was said to be physically ill. Keep on doing what you’re doing. The church will indeed become a third world phenomenon. And this priest .... please... Where there’s smoke there’s fire. I have every suspicion he plays on the side. I don’t understand why Evangelicals, who supposedly take the Bible literally, don’t believe Jesus was speaking literally when He says, “This is my body” and “This is my blood” and “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” Protestants claim that Jesus was speaking symbolically, not literally when He said that. But that doesn’t jive with their practice of interpreting the Bible literally. I recently saw a RUclips video of a speech given by Protestant pastors. Someone asked them if Roman Catholicism is a cult. (???) The pastor hemmed and hawed around. You could tell that he wanted to say that yes, it is a cult, but he was too cautious to open that can of worms. So he said that his definition of a cult is a group of people being led by one person who has authority over the group and the group is to believe everything that this person says and everybody is supposed to believe the same thing or words to that effect. To get his answer, you have to read between the lines and understand that the so-called cult leader that everyone is supposed to believe is the Pope.
Actually, from what I've seen, the pastor's would rather say no, but then he'd loose his congregation. Pastors accept whatever teachings that their congregation wants to hear in order to keep their job.
Mark Duett - That sounds plausible. These two pastors give lots of speeches about all kinds of things in front of a large audience. Then the videos go on RUclips. I don’t know if they’re wealthy or not or whether or not they get paid for these speeches, but I’m pretty sure that they’re telling the people what they want to hear. This isn’t the first video of theirs in which they’ve dodged a question and are dancing around it instead of giving a straight answer.

For another thing, I don’t know which denomination of Protestant you are and there’s absolutely no way for me to know all the specific beliefs of every religion or of every denomination of Protestantism. And, for yet another thing, in my first sentence, I said “Evangelicals”, such as Baptists and Church of Christ. I don’t know if you’re an Evangelical or not. Not all Protestants, like Episcopalians and Lutherans, for example, are Evangelicals. I’ve known lots of Evangelicals, like Baptists. And there are several Church of Christ members in my family. My uncle was a Church of Christ preacher and so is my cousin’s husband. My niece’s father-in-law is a Christian Church preacher. I know for a fact that none of those three preachers believe that the bread and wine, or the crackers and grape juice as the case may be, turns into Jesus’ body and blood. For them, it’s symbolic and not literal. And that was my question.

Everyday I would say because is very important. Its call apologetics = defense of your faith. I highly recommend to start finding out all your doubts so Catholics have a solid knowledge of why we do things. Unfortunately I am no authority in theological matters, but I take both Christianity and Catholicism as a wide land we can wander on: 1. Rosary - It’s all up to one question “did God give Mary, Mother of God the power to hear and answer prayers either by granted power or by saying a word to Jesus in Heaven ?” And that’s what we can’t say for sure. There are miracles, there are visions of Mary (Fatima etc) and Catholic Church checks each and every such an event with very careful approach. It didn’t came up with idea of Queen of Heaven just because a pope had such a thought after dinner. It was a long spiritual and reason process. Yet everyone can be deceived. I myself am avoiding prayers to Mary, sometimes just saying in my thoughts to her just like to my beloved deceased ones. I don’t go and say “don’t say “Hail Mary” it’s a blasphemy “ because I don’t know. I don’t feel sure enough either to accept the approach of hardcore Evangelicals and Catholics. And I guess it’s ok, if Catholic Church is right about Mary, God won’t punish anyone for not saying “Hail Mary”. Btw I don’t remember any revelation of Mary in which she would say “pray to me children”, she always puts focus on Christ only. That what convinces Catholic Church also.
2. Infant Jesus baptism- how he could he be baptized as a child when John the Baptist, who started baptism by water, was just 6 months older than him? Additionally it was just a baptism of repent, Jesus took it to show people it’s important (not needing it ) but gave them the real baptism in the Holy Spirit, after his resurrection.
5. Reading or saying- I don’t know where does it come from, for me there is no difference, yet Jesus said to pray alone in your room by private talk to God and saying Our Father. That’s enough. In fact “God I love you, forgive my sins ” is all that is necessary to say while praying.
7. Kissing statues - this idea I don’t get at all, but it’s a similar argument as with Mary- do God manifests his power through statues and paintings connected with Christianity? According to Old Testament the answer is no, even the Arc of Covenant wasn’t an idol, it was just a vessel for the tables written by God, to protect them and give them a proper place. I don’t mind statues of saints or Mary in a church, as these are not idols, only the decorations and reminders. No one worships or shouldn’t worship them. The idol is first made in your heart.

I was born and raised Lutheran and the more I dive into the bible the more it looks like the Catholic church has all the right answers. I long to be Catholic and be part of a world wide church, that honors life and has options for women to have a vocation within the church. I long for leadership that oversees the churches and keeps them on the right track. I want to hear about the Saints back through history and all the great miracles that have happened. I as a Lutheran only hear about Martin Luther and quite frankly I'm not so proud of that anymore. I wish he never broke away and I was back within the Catholic church. I am currently starting the process to become Catholic. I want to follow Jesus to the Lord's supper in a real way! My faith is leading me back to the Catholic church!

For V2... clearly that was a big turning point. However, some catholics insist it isn't a doctrinal problem, but rather what the council has been used for. Ie; it can be easily twisted. And perhaps that was the reason for its invention in the first place. For me the V2 does indeed seem a but sinister itself, but I imagine this would be the catholic defence. Anybody denying it has been used to create a nightmare is delusional or a liar.
Why don't you join the Eastern Orthodox (this is not me making a suggestion, I am actually just fishing for your reason for my own information and study purpose. Apart from a few remaining doctrinal problems, it is starting to seem like I should join one or the other. Maybe you can assist)?
@@johnjames1590 The Orthodox embrace the teachings of Palamas (divine energies which are different from the substance [ουσια] and his definition of theosis) and I therefore would not join them.
There was a time when I was more Orthodox-leaning, especially when reading the Greek church fatheea defending the Deity of Christ during the Arian crisis.
There even was a short time when I was more Protestant-leaning. And I actually do think that the Bible is all you/a Christian needs.
However, if you study the first Protestants (Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, Melanchthon) you really start to see how they perverted the gospel. Let me make one thing clear though. The average Protestant who doesn't know better and trusts in Christ is a sister/brother in Christ for me. That's one of the reasons I'm not a convinced Catholic. I don't like the idea of extra ecclesiam nulla salus (and the idea of a Pope in the Catholic sense too).
So what I'm looking for is a church that just follows the Bible, period. Without anathematizing other Christians. Without Luther's sola fide and justification doctrine. And since most/almost all non-denominational churches/communities are Protestant, I stay in the Roman-Catholic Church. I at least agree with the Catholics on the 2 most important doctrines of Christianity: the Trinity and the gospel/salvation/justification.

I disagree with the Sedevacantist position (extra ecclesiam nulla salus), but they have good videos on pure Catholicism and Vat2.
This has been one of my favorite sermons from father! He is right - as Catholics we need to be more offensive. We need to know the answers to these common questions and ask questions in return.

As a "protestant" (not sure if the word really defines me) I have to acknowledge that father Meyer was definitely inspired by the Holy Spirit when writing this sermon. And it's true we are filled with misconceptions, and we do share a lot of common ground. I believe we should work together more often, be tolerant, respectful, and above all praise God as one.
If you're not Roman catholic then they consider you a heretic. In times past they would have persecuted you and killed you for your current beliefs. Its the opposite of the genuine church described in the New Testament.
You need to embrace the (traditional) Catholic faith as it in the only true faith in Christ, the Catholic Church is the true and only Church of Christ, today's Vatican II Counter Church is not the Catholic Church.

Found Fr Meyer today,,, by the Grace of God... Im from the Philippines.
Only two days ago a man claiming to be a Protestant Pastor came to talk the right Church with me ofcourse as all protestants, he had his points to accuse the Catholics. As you know how the Protestants first go on babling about idol worshipping and Mother Mary, I reminded him of the last wish of Jesus in Jn.19:25-27. And that we in the Eastern world respect mother and father of our best friend or wife/husband. So if Jesus considered us as His FRIENDS then we should respect the Mother of Jesus especially when Jesus Himself specifically said 'Mother here is your son and to His favourite disciple Jesus said here is your MOTHER'. The Church of Jesus established on the Rock Foundation of (Simion now changed to Peter = Rock) But they interprete that the Rock is Jesus Himself and I asked him how he would enter his own house if he did not have the KEY, he stumbled to give the correct answer. Then I told him if the rock was Jesus Himself then how is it that Jesus gave the KEY OF HEAVEN to Peter. And without being a believer of Jesus through His own Church taken care of by His appointed Earthly Leader Peter how will the Protestants enter the Heaven, is it through the window like a thief ,? So he could not answer and walked away. Then I told him that the the purpose of becoming Christian is to have EVERLASTING LIFE IN HEAVEN,BUT ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPTURE THE HEAVEN HAS A DOOR AND A VERY NARROW DOOR OF WHICH THE KEEPER OF THE KEY IS PETER BY AUTHORITY OF JESUS. He just could not answer and walked away.
IM very much thankful for soeaking UP about different questions from other religion. If so then church gave you the truth, the church Christ established and promises the "gates of hell shall not overcome it" (Matthew 16:18) so it would be calling christ a liar the Catholic church that is founded by Christ to have lost it's authority. Moreover the beautiful inspired word of God, complied in the bible, was possible to be known and avaible by sacred tradition of the Catholic Church. As it I written in 1 Timothy 3:15 " if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth." Sacred tradition and scripture are the two holy lungs Christians must breath on, and if they cut of one they shall surely choke, for they work together to stregnthen our faith, and to spread the truth.

Going to confession can not be for the prideful ... Confession is getting on your knees behind a screen and telling God your sins ... And truly looking and remembering your sins ... Getting to see your faults n weaknesses ..seeing your misery ... You have to be humble enough ... Its not a joke cause after doing all this you start to see what you lack and start trying to do better start to change your life quit sinning cause after a while you will get tired of bring the same sins back confession is a true blessing From God To The Catholic Chruch 4 all who want it ... A person cannot call herself a Christian if doubts Jesus words in the Last Super and does not believe that the Eucharist is the Living God. Jesus is present in the Eucharist and that is the Christianity's core.

I find most Protestants do no understand what we are told in 1 Cor 10:16-18.
It reveals the Mass is a sacrifice,.
To partake of this sacrifice we eat that which is sacrificed.
The only way we can do that is if it is actually his body and blood we receive.
At the last supper Jesus turned his execution into a sacrifice for our sins.

Good Jesus was talking literally during the last supper should we still cut our hand off to make sure we get to have because if the hand cause you to sin than cut it off? But the hand doesn't not sin alone. The mind tells it to sin. So with the mind helping the hand sins should we take our own life? Of course not!!! Jesus spoke in ways to make one think deep and test their faith.

I'd say the U.S. really needs God and is beginning to more collectively reject God. We have many good priests with varying gifts; many of those with an extraordinary ability to preach. But their abilities aren't going to matter if they are in a field by themselves preaching to trees (unless they are St. Anthony). Only the Lord can penetrate through hardened hearts.

I was looking for the schedule of the Vatican Mass today in honor of the Divine Mercy Sunday and i was brought here. And i couldn't be more than blessed for witnessing this sermon of Father Meyer which is very timely and relevant nowadays. What a very good way to start receiving the blessing and mercy of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST pouring endlessly for us most especially on a Divine Mercy Sunday. I am continuously praying for GOD's wisdom, revelation and truth and HE just revealed to me HIS answers today, Feast of the Divine Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday); one of the blessings and graces i received from my first ever formal Divine Mercy Novena.
Let me share this to all of you as celebrate Feast of the Divine Mercy (Divine Mercy Sunday) but could not have Confession and Holy Communion:
LORD JESUS CHRIST, you promised St. Faustina that the soul that is been to confession, I’m unable, but I made an active contrition and the soul that receives Holy Communion, I’m unable but I made a spiritual communion will receive the complete forgiveness of all sins and punishment and please LORD JESUS CHRIST give me this grace.
Divine Mercy - is mankind’s last hope of salvation.
Humanity will not find peace until it approaches my fountain of mercy.
We give thanks, we glorify HIS name, we worship HIM, we profess our faith, we pray, we ask forgiveness for our sins; In The Name of The FATHER, and of The SON, and of The Holy Spirit, amen! GOD be with us all!

"Faith without works is dead" is from the Epistle of James. This book was one of the two (the Book of Revelation) that Martin Luther tried (unsuccessfully) to have removed from the Bible. He did manage to remove the seven Deuterocanonical books, which also disproved his warped theology and interpretation of scripture.

Intrinsically, it all boils down to this, where is the authority coming from? Is the source coming from human minds and traditions that trump the Bible? Or do you let the Bible speak for itself? I think Father Meyer does a wonderful job demonstrating that with the Catholic church, the ultimate authority rests on human minds and traditions so that the Church can be flexible and adapt to the times. So that the Catholic church, not the ancient bible, can determine what is considered good. So that the church can decide who and what we can/cannot worship. So that we can use our actions to justify “how good we are” to our final judge so we can work our way out of purgatory.
1. Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior 2. Why do you call Priest Father 3. Why do you worship Mary 4. Why do you have a pope 5. Why do you worhsip Statues and images 6. Why do you confess your sins to a priest 7. Why do you baptize infants and 8. Why do you believe you are saved by works?
The answers to your questions are in the bible. Some of your questions were answered in this video and are rejected therefore repeating them will not convince those who refuse honest answers. Surely distortion of answers given is not a basis for their rejection.
When It comes right down to it, the source of all the answers is the same bible that the Catholic Church preserved and protected for centuries before the protestant reformation that adopted parts of the bible even as the original teachers are rejected.

How can you go through life picking and choosing this law or this rule to follow? Is there any authority you acknowledge?

Joseph Jacob What a childish response. I live two blocks from St. Matthew’s RC Cathedral. Cardinal McCarrick was recently defrocked by the pope because of sexual abuse. HIS abuse. Cardinal Wuerl was tossed out after the church demanded it for his covering up more cases of pedophile priests. Look, you can whine all you want and go into denial forever. But the truth gets out. And I make reference to one Cathedral only. ! The last pope Ratzinger was part of a joint Anglican- Roman Catholic Evening Prayer liturgy at Westminster Abbey. Archbishop Williams almost pulled out at the last minute when it was learned how much Ratzinger was involved in his own cover ups. Williams was said to be physically ill. Keep on doing what you’re doing. The church will indeed become a third world phenomenon. And this priest .... please... Where there’s smoke there’s fire. I have every suspicion he plays on the side. Your church is sick. Get it a shrink or let it die.

I don’t understand why Evangelicals, who supposedly take the Bible literally, don’t believe Jesus was speaking literally when He says, “This is my body” and “This is my blood” and “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.” Protestants claim that Jesus was speaking symbolically, not literally when He said that. But that doesn’t jive with their practice of interpreting the Bible literally.
I recently saw a RUclips video of a speech given by Protestant pastors. Someone asked them if Roman Catholicism is a cult. (???) The pastor hemmed and hawed around. You could tell that he wanted to say that yes, it is a cult, but he was too cautious to open that can of worms. So he said that his definition of a cult is a group of people being led by one person who has authority over the group and the group is to believe everything that this person says and everybody is supposed to believe the same thing or words to that effect. To get his answer, you have to read between the lines
and understand that the so-called cult leader that everyone is supposed to believe is the Pope.
Actually, from what I've seen, the pastor's would rather say no, but then he'd loose his congregation. Pastors accept whatever teachings that their congregation wants to hear in order to keep their job.

Mark Duett - That sounds plausible. These two pastors give lots of speeches about all kinds of things in front of a large audience. Then the videos go on RUclips. I don’t know if they’re wealthy or not or whether or not they get paid for these speeches, but I’m pretty sure that they’re telling the people what they want to hear. This isn’t the first video of theirs in which they’ve dodged a question and are dancing around it instead of giving a straight answer.
I’m Protestant. And my church interprets it literally. We do partake in the flesh and blood of Christ. Please educate yourselves or stop talking.
Travis Mull - For one thing, it is not necessary to be rude. I may have taken your last sentence the wrong way, but it sounded rude to me and I don’t want to have an ugly argument.
For another thing, I don’t know which denomination of Protestant you are and there’s absolutely no way for me to know all the specific beliefs of every religion or of every denomination of Protestantism.
And, for yet another thing, in my first sentence, I said “Evangelicals”, such as Baptists and Church of Christ. I don’t know if you’re an Evangelical or not. Not all Protestants, like Episcopalians and Lutherans, for example, are Evangelicals. I’ve known lots of Evangelicals, like Baptists. And there are several Church of Christ members in my family. My uncle was a Church of Christ preacher and so is my cousin’s husband. My niece’s father-in-law is a Christian Church preacher. I know for a fact that none of those three preachers believe that the bread and wine, or the crackers and grape juice as the case may be, turns into Jesus’ body and blood. For them, it’s symbolic and not literal. And that was my question.

Its call apologetics = defense of your faith.
I highly recommend to start finding out all your doubts so Catholics have a solid knowledge of why we do things.

Informative message !!!! but as a catholic I still have many questions which I hope Fr.Meyer would be able to answer these questions which might be able to answer many people's questions as well
1. Why do we Catholics say the rosary ? (Biblical answer needed)
2. Can Mary hear our prayers ? When we say pray for us ?
3. Why did Jesus not have an infant baptism ?
4. What is the difference between infant Jesus, scared heart of Jesus and the crucifix that hangs on the wall
5. Are prayers need to read or said ?
6. Where did the books after Malachi come in our catholic Bible ? Because there was 400 years of silence and then came the New testament ??
7. Isn't kissing the statues a wrong practice or praying to statues (which have no life ) ?
These questions for now I hope to find strong biblical verses to the above questions so that I can answer so of the questions posted to me

Unfortunately I am no authority in theological matters, but I take both Christianity and Catholicism as a wide land we can wander on:
1. Rosary - It’s all up to one question “did God give Mary, Mother of God the power to hear and answer prayers either by granted power or by saying a word to Jesus in Heaven ?” And that’s what we can’t say for sure. There are miracles, there are visions of Mary (Fatima etc) and Catholic Church checks each and every such an event with very careful approach. It didn’t came up with idea of Queen of Heaven just because a pope had such a thought after dinner. It was a long spiritual and reason process. Yet everyone can be deceived. I myself am avoiding prayers to Mary, sometimes just saying in my thoughts to her just like to my beloved deceased ones. I don’t go and say “don’t say “Hail Mary” it’s a blasphemy “ because I don’t know. I don’t feel sure enough either to accept the approach of hardcore Evangelicals and Catholics. And I guess it’s ok, if Catholic Church is right about Mary, God won’t punish anyone for not saying “Hail Mary”. Btw I don’t remember any revelation of Mary in which she would say “pray to me children”, she always puts focus on Christ only. That what convinces Catholic Church also.
2. Infant Jesus baptism- how he could he be baptized as a child when John the Baptist, who started baptism by water, was just 6 months older than him? Additionally it was just a baptism of repent, Jesus took it to show people it’s important (not needing it ) but gave them the real baptism in the Holy Spirit, after his resurrection.
5. Reading or saying- I don’t know where does it come from, for me there is no difference, yet Jesus said to pray alone in your room by private talk to God and saying Our Father. That’s enough. In fact “God I love you, forgive my sins ” is all that is necessary to say while praying.
7. Kissing statues - this idea I don’t get at all, but it’s a similar argument as with Mary- do God manifests his power through statues and paintings connected with Christianity? According to Old Testament the answer is no, even the Arc of Covenant wasn’t an idol, it was just a vessel for the tables written by God, to protect them and give them a proper place. I don’t mind statues of saints or Mary in a church, as these are not idols, only the decorations and reminders. No one worships or shouldn’t worship them. The idol is first made in your heart.
