NO religion is named in the bible codex so ALL religions are pagan false doctrine distractions... Jesus isnt a "christian" HE IS the "christ"/example... the "messiah"/messenger .... dont need men in costumes/suits to read and study the bible codex... "do not worship me for I AM here for the Father" bible codex, Jesus = ALL religions specially "christian" are pagan blasphemy .... "deny the Father deny the son" bible codex.... "you can only serve one Master" bible codex, master Jehovah = you deny calling the Father of creation by the "english"/babble translation of his ancient aramaic warrior name... Jehovah.... he created us with ONE word and you cant even utter his name .... "you will not find salvation in the words of these scriptures" bible codex, Jesus .... "I wrote the truth in your hearts" bible codex, master Jehovah... = the bible is a codex (block of wood divided into equal sections) .... = regurgitating scriptures dont mean your saved ... "WE ARE ALL EQUAL SINNERS, not ONE is greater" bible codex, Jesus = creating an "organization" is blasphemy... "you must die to receive your white robes" bible codex, Jesus = NOT ONE FLESH CARCASS AVATAR IS SELF "SAVED"
i hereby witness the ONE bible codex TRANSLATION WE need to unite and study on is the "NWT"/new world TRANSLATION not pagan religious version .... its a direct translation from aramaic/hebrew to "english"/babble with footnotes applied to proper places in txt... ALL other "versions" can be burnt ... they are diluted beyond innerstanding...
@@yourangelinfleshorsackclot1523 you can't even spell understanding or this speech-to-text might have been used but anyway you're knocking all the translations except yours. Wow one day maybe I can be as self righteous and holy As You Are. Let me explain something. I was one of the biggest drug dealers in New Orleans and facing life in prison at one point still doing all the hard drugs I could and I came to the end of my rope. At that point I did not care what version of the Bible I had but I went into the woods for 4 months asking Christ to make himself real as I had heard the stories coming up and Catholic schools but never heard the gospel or had anyone witness to me but being desperate and hungry I would go out and throw a sheet out and get on my knees crying out and reading the New Testament five times over. I was born again on that private property that I was able to use 40 years ago using what I found out later was an NIV version. Then I bought a King James Version Study Bible and as long as you don't have one of the sodomite Bibles that eliminates many scriptures or the Jehovah Witness Bible that takes away the deity of Christ you will get saved. I have given my testimony and preached the gospel with 35 years teaching and preaching and the type of Bible really makes no difference but the King James is the closest to staying in line with the Virgin birth and walking in the spirit and a few other scriptures that other translations leave out. God gave me an inner-city Ministry and the ghetto for drug addicts and alcoholics like David Wilkerson in New York City and I saw countless Miracles as we housed and fed three houses full of big bad black men that had been drug dealers murderers and you name it. If they had another Bible other than the King James it did not matter because Souls we're getting saved. Now I'm with the school of Christ and 176 countries translated into 52 different languages where your Bible would not even fly because we have to preach in their language so the only place with the sacred name movement and Hebrew roots and other garbage caught type Bibles and beliefs is the backslidden apostate America. So it figures a squirrel like you would come out and speak as you did. It was the self-righteous who Christ had contention with and who also crucified him so I would rethink and repent of what you said as I challenge you to look up the school of Christ and how many people are still being saved from one man that covered the Earth starting at 70 years old after a 35-year pastorship and continued for 18 more years until his death but because of the Holy Ghost the ministry continues. I am in South America and again your so-called correct Bible would not make any difference here as we deliver the gospel in Spanish. Brother Clendenin started in Peruvia in this part of the world and it has made its way all the way down past Nicaragua where he got sick and had to go back to Texas and died at 88. So much for your false piety and pride that goes before a fall or possibly you're not even born again just part of a self-righteous cult that came out of the 7th Day Adventists in the 1920s. God bless you with humility and the grace to give to others instead of bragging and sticking what you think is correct in their face. If not you will have blood on your hands plus you will have to be judged according to your attitude and that doesn't look too good. We're in the last days and we don't need division in the matter you're bringing it and we certainly don't need a Jesuit priest as if you read the Jesuit oath it's bloody and they pledge to murder and kill every Protestant and you don't know that ???. No kid gloves for you I'm sorry, if you don't like what I said take it up with God who said all scripture is given by the Holy Spirit to the converting of Souls. God bless you with humility and the truth the life and the way. Brother Craig in South America
Ignatian Prayer totally changed my prayer, relationship with Jesus and as a meditation tool. Putting yourself into the scripture is incredible. Wonderful video btw Matt
I just went on a Ignatian retreat for 3 days and it changed my life. I also was exhausted by the end of the days, exercise is right! I described it as meditation. Cloisters on the Platte I highly recommend!!
I was shocked to have seen this in my recommended as Fr. (then Deacon) Baugh was my RCIA instructor at BU's Catholic Center when I entered the Church back in 2019. I haven't spoken to him since then, as he went off to be ordained and I was a college freshman who was (and still is) not good at staying in touch with people. I entered RCIA not sure of Catholicism or Christianity, but genuinely seeking the Truth, and Fr. Baugh played an incredibly profound role in drawing me into the Faith. He was a great deacon and I'm sure he's a great priest, with many wise things to say. Not very often that you get to see someone that you know in a RUclips thumbnail!
If it is possible send him a email or mesage telling him of his role in your conversion. I know most people feel very grateful when they see that their faith and words have baren fruits.
I know exactly how you feel. One of the people that made such a profound and healing impact on my life was a Jesuit -- Fr. Bill McGarry, SJ. He was American from NY but had spent most of his life in Asia leading the seminaries there. He was the kindest, sweetest, most approachable priest and man I got to know. I guess I should be thankful that I've had such a positive experience w the priests I know and never encountered the bad abusive ones. Have to admit my Catholic faith has waned a bit, but not my love, respect and regard towards the Jesuits. Fr. Bill has since passed but he will always have a special place in my heart!
This is SUCH a wholesome conversation. It gives me the warm fuzzies. Two modern disciples of Jesus from two different walks of the same faith coming together and learning and uncovering truth from each other. THIS is what the Church as a whole is supposed to be like! A place where iron sharpens iron ❤ I love this

It means you are still stupid and become more dumb, even if you have learn from the video , that jesuit give false teaching to people , it means you are lerning false teaching of catholic demonic traditions like cult pagan statue and praying to marry, praying to people is a sin, you are talking to people not praying to people ! , talking is talking , but praying using faith and faith in God not human , when jesus walk on earth teaching people and people speak to Him not praying to HIM, you pray when you can not see God or can not hear God's voice thats why you are using faith that God has already hear and answerd your pray ,,,,, praying to people is a satanic teaching made by wolf using sheep clothes....,,, I can not speak english well but i hope you can understand what i say to you...
This is great video, Matt. Lovely conversation between two followers of the Way. Fr Baugh is an academic beast with degrees from Duke, Yale, and Oxford, yet has such a humility and willingness to share. Love this!
Great conversation, I apréciate their Faith, I met a Jesuit who encouraged me to grow my faith, to read and to do good as much i can. My English is in process. Greetings from Bolivia
Hi Matt! Thanks for this enlightening interview with Fr. Baugh. I grew up with Jesuit education. I would like you the foundation of Jesuit education, which I keep close to my heart. 1. Ad maiorem Dei gloriam (AMDG). It Latin "For the greater glory of God," in Latin. This is the Jesuit's motto. 2. Magis. It's a Latin expression for "to be more." Jesuit education pushes you to pursue excellence in all aspects of life. 3. Be a man for others. Caring for all our neighbors is ingrained in a graduate's heart. 4. See God in all things. We must see God in all things, including the negative aspects of our life. The first step to seeing God is by having an attitude of gratitude. God bless!
I went to a Jesuit university in the Philippines too and we use the very same mottos. My education there was the highlight of my young adulthood and I will cherish it for the rest of my life. AMDG 🙂
This was my first visit to this channel. I grew up Southern Baptist and converted to Catholicism 4 years ago. I am 61 years old. It was the greatest and most spiritually impactful decision of my life. I enjoyed seeing the insightful dialogue in the video. I may hang out and watch a few more.
@@danadams8857 Clever use of the word "opine." If you actually read it, you'd see that the JESUITS use that word in the title to the "Jesuit Extreme Oath of Induction." This is the Jesuit terminology, and not my opinion. One quick search of the topic will verify that. Yes, I do take issue with an oath that requires Jesuit mercenaries, at the pope's command, to slaughter Protestant "heretics" by any means possible, to rip open the wombs of their women, and to crush their infant's heads against walls. If you don't take issue with that, I'm scared to be sharing the earth with you. If you're a Romanist, please read the oath and at least know what's the "deep state" of the catholic church.
@@danadams8857 Please look up and actually read the Jesuit Extreme oath of Induction before you call my view "subjective." The Jezzies themselves proudly declared it "Extreme."
Thank you for this Matt, I really appreciate your respect and warmth to Catholics and our beliefs and tradition. As a Lay Dominican or a Third Order Dominican I hope to have interviewed a Dominican. Although remember the Dominicans also have women as Sisters (active), Nuns (comtemplative) and Lay People who all go through a process or formation and vows.
I love that the mystery of that window is the fasting in the desert. Shows humility and really is at the heart of the spiritual exercises of St Ignatius. It makes sense to me.
Matt immediately gets the associated mystery that has stumped the Jesuit order for centuries. Classic! Another example of Matt explaining to us Catholics the life of Christ. God bless you, brother.
Matt’s love for the Word is so beautiful, and he has some incredible insights. As a lifelong and devout Catholic, I was always taught that I should be humble and look to learn something from people I encounter. I have only encountered Matt through RUclips but he can refresh the wellspring of my own love of the gospel.
God bless you brother Matt. I am writing to you from Chile. South America. I'm catholic. Your spirit to explore the Christian world moves me. I am currently trying to do the spiritual exercises of Ignacio Loyola. I always thought that my connection with God was the right one. It was enough. It is true that these have taken me to another level. I sincerely hope that your evangelizing work is fruitful for all who listens
@daniela tapia vargas Daniela, So happy to see a neighbor from the south, Chile. I'm from Callao Perú. I happen to be a Catholic apologist in North Carolina. Happy to know about your commitment to our Faith; we need more like you everywhere. God bless.
Very worthwhile conversation. With the global church in need of family Unity, there would be tremendous value in a series of such thoughtful discussions between you and Fr Baugh - not to identify differences between Catholicism and Protestantism - rather to seek Christ together.
omg, with you there - two months ago myself and over 10,000 other employees sat thru some mandatory video training and one video was literally being "told" to be tolerant that use some letters of the alphabet, stated by a blue hair self-stated genderless person; thankfully I'm retiring soon but think, over 10,000 people watching the same & barely covered religious tolerance (perhaps 2-min out of a 45min training video)
When you were speaking of the panel for St. Ignatius, you hit exactly how Catholics are supposed to look to the saints. We recognized the graces they received, but we reflect on the struggles, because we all have those struggles.
Fr. Baugh was really great. I clear sharing with accuracy and always a deeper fuller understanding of the Jesuits, the saints and the involvement of self. Kudos...from a former Oblate seminarian. I have been studying a book titled the Lives of the Saints. and realized that there are a lot of different people who make it to heaven and that really helps.
This is one of my favorite series of any channel, there is a deeper level of thought and axiomatic mode of religious being below the general practiced dogmas and doctrinal distinctives, how we identify outside of Christ maybe isn't as critical.
I'm a protestant who daily listens to Pray as You Go from Jesuits in UK as part of my devotional life. Love this interview, thank you for enlightening me about Jesuit history, beliefs, mission, and practices. Love the unity between brothers here. God bless you both!
Jesuits were THE order behind contrreformation. The whole intellectual and spiritual fight against reformation in Catholic Church and outside in secualr world was lead by jesuits.
I always appreciate so much the honest and genuine spirit with which you approach these interviews and I really value them. The insight they provide into the other orders is fascinating and revelatory. Thank you.
I love this video I used to live in Orange County where I started my catechumen process, I am fourteen and a catechumen this Easter vigil I will receive the sacraments I couldn’t be more happy praise the Lord!
Matt, this is great! Please please continue to have these deep conversations with amazing people. Sometimes they feel like a glimpse into a bigger picture where God is thoroughly at work despite our bickering. It's a reminder we all need periodically and it feels great. Keep it up!
This is one of my favorite interviews on your channel thus far, with the disclaimer that I have not watched all. I wanted this to last longer. Recently I have been despondent, in the mids of the Hope of God's sovereignty, that the church is so divided and conflicted. Even though it is important for shepherds to run off wolves in an aggressive way. I feel that we at times beat sheep not from our own flock because they don't bear our brand. And while this is going on I have a strong conviction for seeking truth, and not letting what feels like important mistruths see the light of day. This struggle might be a reflection of my own sin of self-reliance. Relying mostly on my own understanding, my own interpretation, and my own convictions. These videos help me soften my gaze just a little to maybe see the calluses in my eyes, made by those wooden beams.
I too am concerned about these issues. St. Ignatius' call to return to Him really is key, seeking first the kingdom and then ordering everything else around that. It sounds painfully simple, maybe too simple, but we have to trust that Christ knows the way.
Matt: I am glad you decided to give the Catholic more thorough look through seeking to understand the Jesuits. I hope you will consider watching some content form Fr. Chris Alar, He tends to be good at making Catholic theology understandable to a protestant point of view. Though it isn't his specific goal; he makes certain to answer the questions most protestants would ask about a Catholic theological topic in the course of sharing information about the church, the saints and various devotions.
I also recommend Fr. Alar, especially the presentations entitled "Role of the Saints", "the Holy Trinity" and all presentations on the Sacraments. The one on baptism was a real eye-opener for me
I’m a Catholic but I don’t know..but I’m a convert from this past Easter….thank you for educating me. I’ve heard of them, but I didn’t know exactly what they were.
The Jesuits have been "the single most important contributor to experimental physics in the seventeenth century. They have contributed to the development of pendulum clocks, pantographs, barometers, reflecting telescopes and microscopes - to scientific fields as various as magnetism, optics, and electricity. They theorized about the circulation of the blood (independently of Harvey), the theoretical possibility of flight, the way the moon affected the tides, and the wave-like nature of light. The Jesuits introduced a substantial body of scientific knowledge and a vast array of mental tools for understanding the physical universe, including the Euclidean geometry that made planetary motion comprehensible.
Look at it this way. The Catholic Church is a precision Swiss watch. The dial is St. Peters in Rome but the mechanism inside are the Jesuits. They are rarely seen but you can know them from the people they convert and from the pupils they teach.
@@alalalala57 Especially the jesuit extreme oath of induction. It's "fascinating" how they must swear to kill all Protestants and their infants at command of the pope.
One of the most intellectual priests I met in college was a Jesuit. He mentioned to me in conversation one day that it had taken him 12 years of study to be a priest. I never asked why, but he knew quite a lot. He was still very down to earth and humble.
Jezuits are generally very intelligent. However, they serve an organization that is sworn to murder at the command of the pope. Please read the jesuit extreme oath of induction.
Technically you get the "SJ" before the formation process is complete, which is generally in year 12-13. But yes all Jesuits go through that length of training, and there are many stages, including periods of study and mission abroad.
I'm Catholic, and totally appreciate the Holy Spirit being shared by two sincere, learned seekers who generously share what they've found and are finding. Very cool!

Thank you for this fascinating conversation, Matt. It made me think about the God's loving call for all to "put on Christ." What mystery in Our Lord's life is He calling me to live out? And the answer for me was so clear. God bless you for your holy work. God is using you to strengthen those who need it most.

I've known a bunch of the things that Fr. Baugh talks about here but I've learned more detail about our patron saints Ignatius of Loyola and Francis Xavier. Thank you for this!
Going to Catholic school all of my life I thankfully am a product of a good Jesuit education in Chicago. Catholic school was harder (in terms of discipline) than the military was for me, I just retired in 2020, and more academically rigorous than college. I really appreciated it. My aunt was a nun and we would go visit her in the convent. Catholicism is so beautiful and I love the very symbolic rituals and ceremonies.
I went to a Jesuit university in the Philippines too and my school is one of the top schools in the whole country. They do have the most intellectual and rigorous academic training. My education there was the highlight of my young adulthood and I will cherish it for the rest of my life. AMDG 🙂
So true. Went to Catholic school and now sending my children. I've fallen in love with the church more then ever as I grow older. The mysterious, erie beauty of the Catholic Church is incredible. There's nothing like it.
@@cwoza5 Friend, that's how satan designed it to appeal. When you call it mysterious, that's actually the mystery of iniquity at work seducing your spirit. When you call it "eerie," that's usually associated with evil too. Is that what you really want? Romanism is designed to appeal to the fallen part of man that likes such things.
Very respectfully done ... and getting an actual professor that has positive excitement .... Great Job. I wonder what Fr. Baugh had as his doctrinal thesis topic.
It’s like an onion, the beauty and reverence get deeper with every level. I am a convert to and we are both inheriting a wealth of Tradition and beauty!

Hi, Matt. Thanks for doing this interview. I've felt that protestant traditions could benefit from having something like religious orders or communities. Great content.
You are the most respectful Protestant and I admire your love and respect for all Christian traditions I pray that I might be as respectful as you! God bless you and Our Lady and all the Saints protect you!!!
This is a beautiful explanation of the Jesuit charism. I once saw an interview with a Jesuit and he said that in his heart the Jesuit responds to Christ by saying: "HERE I AM. SEND ME."....wow! Thank you Holy Spirit for inspiring St. Ignatius of Loyola.
A Jesuit is someone who interferes in religion, politics and culture. Their view, in their eyes, is the right view. Everyone else is wrong. They like to take measures, secretly, so that no one would know it was them, working behind the scenes. They like to believe that God willed their decisions. That they have been chosen. Or that God prefers their group of people, before other groups of people. God teaches us in scripture that nothing is hidden and truth should be shared. God so loved THE WORLD. That means all the people on the planet. We expose evil and warn others of danger. We don't sabotage others out of religious disagreement, greed, racism or jealousy. We don't murder, enslave or bear false witness against others. Finally, God did not give man the authority to secretly plot the downfall of others or manipulate outcomes to benefit myself or others I work for. We are to love others, like he loved us. I don't always agree with others beliefs. But I have learned that vengeance belongs to God alone. God is the only one who controls evil and good. Because His decisions always bring about the Greater Good. Because He is good.
You mean the 181 different countries? The influence of Jesuit Adam Weishaupt on the creation of the illuminati? The 201 expelled in the late 1800s to Russia and Quebec? (lesser known)
That’s cracked. Not because you’re correct or even close. Are you Catholic? Probably not. Do you know anything about Catholic faith…other than misinformation from hate tracts? Probably not. Have you read anything written by Ignatius Loyola or other Jesuits? Definitely not. It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than speak and remove all doubts.
For those wanting more detailed information about Jesuits, here are some REALLY great sources: 1. WATCH the RUclips series called "From Crete to Malta" by Prof. Walter Veith 2. READ the book "Rulers of Evil" by Tauper Saussy 3. READ the book "The Great Controversy", chapter 12, by Ellen G. White

I may be Catholic, but I love Matt Whitman! ❤❤❤ He is so alive with grace and so well calls me to repent of haughtiness which I often succumb to when dialoguing with my separated sisters and brethren. I trust our God Jesus is doing a great thing in his labors! Vivo Cristo Rey!
Bros & Sis, consider this question: Why do non Catholic Christians believe that the Bible is definitely the inspired scriptures considering that the Bible was searched, sorted, selected, put together and declared to be the final books inspired by God, by the Catholic church from around 25k manuscripts (the original couldn't be found when the time the Bible was being put together). This process was under the guardianship and authority of the Pope. The books of the Bible were chosen and finalized with the authority of the Popes. So, why do non Catholic Christians use this Bible or at least its core (some Christians removed done books and changed some translations), that the Catholic church put together, through the Pope's finality of authority, instead of them just searching, sorting, selecting and putting together their own using their individual consciences and authority as they claim all good Christians can identify truth? The Bible is a Catholic created book and declared the true holy God inspired scriptures by the SOLE authority of the Pope. THEY USE THIS SAME BIBLE, SO IT IMPLIES THEY BELIEVE THAT THE POPE HAS THAT SAME AUTHORITY TO DECLARE TRUTH. AND NOW THEY BELIEVE (THIS BELIEF/ FALSE TEACHING/ WRONG LOGIC IS STARTED BY LUTHER) THE POPE DOESN'T HAVE THAT SAME AUTHORITY, AND THAT ALL TRULY FAITHFUL CHRISTIANS HAVE THAT AUTHORITY. THEN NON CATHOLIC CHRISTIANS EACH HAVE THEIR OWN IDENTIFICATION OF TRUTH AND INTERPRETATION OF THE SCRIPTURES. THIS IS WRONG RIGHT? Let's unite in truth. Being in truth will unite Christians.
@@larrylim8050 Given the aggressive tone and all-caps in your post, I highly doubt we're going to have a productive conversation. But in the interests of being kind and giving the benefit of the doubt: Suffice it to say that to non-Catholics, the protection of the bible has a lot more to do with God's intervention, than the specific people who did the work. The Early Church was also a very different entity to the Catholic Church of future centuries. Additionally, the scholarship that was done to produce the bible, can (at least to an extent) be traced back, considered and critiqued, and as Matt has highlighted in past videos, a lot of the decisions they made were pretty obvious from a scholarly perspective. We don't have arguments to dispute the core of that work. It isn't hard to agree with what were obviously sound decisions. That has no bearing on the areas of disagreement, which (while important to us) are relatively minor in the grand scheme of the bible and the belief system as a whole.

Sir, jesuits have never existed during the middle ages. The middle ages ended when the Eastern Roman Empire was conquered by the Ottomans in 1453, thus starting the Modern Era. The year the Society of Jesus did turn into an official order with the approval of the pope was in 1540. Therefore, the jesuits are a *Modern Era* order and cannot be called as Vatican's hitmen during the middle ages.

Another AMAZING gift of St. Ignatius are the "Rules" of Discernment... A way to practically guide us toward discerning God's will. It's an absolute game-changer, and I'm forever grateful to God for allowing Ignatius and the Jesuits to coach us through that.
I was born and raised an Episcopalian. I was awarded a grant for tuition to a local Jesuit university. It was a great, well-rounded, higher education that has stood me in good stead throughout my 70 years. The Jesuits teach you how to think, not what to think.
While at St. Francis Xavier College Church at SLU, Matthew Baugh astounded parishioners- already quite used to a host of great theologians. Effortlessly, Matthew would “hit the message out of the park” leaving us to ponder scripture for days, weeks afterwards. His curiosity and generosity always boundless. Despite many diplomas, he could not be more humble, relatable and funny.
I would recommend to you all to listen to Walter Veith, he has very strong and solid arguments against the teachings of the Jesuits. Maybe Mr. Whitman is willing to interview him one day.
Great video. Ignatian spirituality has become the foundation of my beliefs. In other words, it shapes my relationship with Jesus, and I've built a deeper, closer relationship with Him because of it. I've been through the Spiritual Exercises, and I'm leading someone through them now. It is challenging but completely worth it. Ignatius designed the exercises to meet you where you are at. If you can devote 30 days straight to them - fantastic. But for those of us with day jobs, you can do a modified version that starts in the Fall and ends at Easter. Life-changing experience!
Two very powerful films that deal with the Jesuits are _The Mission_ and _Silence._ There is a Jesuit chapel in the middle of the University of Toronto campus (a few steps from Robarts Library) where, at each service all attendants not only got Communion, but we got to sip real wine as well.

AMDG 🙂

Great conversation, gentlemen! Thank you for your love for the Lord and for each other.
This is one of my favorite series of any channel, there is a deeper level of thought and axiomatic mode of religious being below the general practiced dogmas and doctrinal distinctives, how we identify outside of Christ maybe isn't as critical.

O yea after u watch please let me know what u think
Ya look back to when every country kicked them out because the kill leaders. See what our founding fathers and later president wrote about them.
I second this about Father Alar
My question is how the Jesuits can swear in their oath to violently slaughter all Protestants at a word from.the pope.

They are a tool for the devil
You're so right, your view in, your eyes is the right one
@@AdilulphIt is not my view alone. It is God's view. It is in his word that we find truth. Follow God and what he says. Not secret societies.
Matt, what a great job yoou are doing. Tks for so many inspiring videos.. Greetings from Brazil.
For those wanting more detailed information about Jesuits, here are some REALLY great sources:
1. WATCH the RUclips series called "From Crete to Malta" by Prof. Walter Veith
2. READ the book "Rulers of Evil" by Tauper Saussy
3. READ the book "The Great Controversy", chapter 12, by Ellen G. White
Amen
Matt, you are doing what no one else dared to do. Instead of being stuck on disagreements and division, you find common ground and seek to learn and understand. Keep it up.
This was delightful. His enthusiasm is contagious. I may not be Catholic, but I love the Jesuits.
Not until you read the Oath that high ranking Jesuits vow to do in order for the Holy Catholic Church's goals to achieve.
Wait till you meet the order of preachers, the Dominicans 😅 they always throw jokes with Jesuits, and Franciscans.
Bros & Sis, consider this question:
Why do non Catholic Christians believe that the Bible is definitely the inspired scriptures considering that the Bible was searched, sorted, selected, put together and declared to be the final books inspired by God, by the Catholic church from around 25k manuscripts (the original couldn't be found when the time the Bible was being put together).
But in the interests of being kind and giving the benefit of the doubt:
Suffice it to say that to non-Catholics, the protection of the bible has a lot more to do with God's intervention, than the specific people who did the work.
Glad I found your channel, I'm loving the content. I watched a lot and Lutheran and Orthodox was interesting. I'll be going to my first Orthodox service sunday
@isaac cutlip So how did your visit go? I grew up in family that were on one side catholics, on the other orthodox and I was raised catholic, but ever since I was a toddler I always had a great soft spot for the orthodox liturgies, music and some aspects of their spirituality.
@@daniby9894 well I went and it was ok. It was really small and not a lot of ppl. I have been Baptist my whole life. It was different for sure and they gave me a ton of bioks to read. I'm giving it a real shot.
Father Joseph Cataldo was a Jesuit who built the Cataldo Mission in North Idaho.(our oldest standing building) He also homesteaded near the church and later on founded Gonzaga U. in Spokane.
Educating hearts and minds to change the world.
Ask him if he could teach us how to start the spiritual exercise to experience Jesus.. or where could we go to find more information about that. great interview! 😅🤞🏾
I've watched and rewatched your videos. Great content!
What a puff piece on the true puppet masters of the world
As a roman catholic in louisiana it was mind blowing to learn of all the different catholic branches of theology. In my home area it's literally protestants 3/4 population to a small congregation of Irish, Italian, Cajun, Creole, and Hispanics. It helped me understand the fabric of society better than my protestant neighbors
Lord,
Take me where you want me to go,
Let me meet who you want me to meet,
Tell me what you want me to say and
Keep me out of your way
Saint Mychal Judge (0001)
@@marym.338 A couple Chuches have recognized as a Saint. Although its highly doubtful that the Roman Catholic Church will canonize him due to political BS in the Church
Another great video. Can't wait to see your next Church tour
This channel glows like the griswald house in space
"The Mission" one of the BEST movies ever made.
Ad maiorem Dei gloriam!
Thank you for this video.
You may be a Protestant but you are Christian and God is at work with you as well to spread the Word. God bless you!
Good stuff Matt. Like how you segmented the video too. Makes it easier to watch.
The Jesuit’s would befriend young Catholic widows who had been married to wealthy husbands. They would become the confessors to these young wealthy, grieving widows. They’d convince these widows to give all their money to the poor (the poor being the Jesuit order) and tell the young widow to become a cloistered nun.
One who needs to ask this and simply rolls over for a Jesuit priest is not a Protestant. This is how Romanized America is now. Really shameful.
I think his approach is to ask questions and respectively listen.
A jesuits is the vatican's hitmen. During the middle ages
Jesuits didn’t exist in the Middle Ages. They only became big in the 1600s
Still are 🤫
Jesuits didn't exist in the Middle Ages.
Proud graduate of a Jesuit school. Took many years to realize what gifts I was given there beyond a standard education. The more I learn about Jesuit history the more I'm inspired. Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!
Hi Matt! I've been enjoying your channel and learning a lot from it. I'm not Christian, but your channel still intrigues me! I love how you're reaching out to other denominations. If you don't mind me asking, do ever plan to reach out to these denominations: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons), Jehovah's Witnesses, Christadelphians, The New Church (Swedenborgianism), and Christian Scientists? Just to name a few obscure or controversial denominations. Take care and thank you for all that you do!
Those groups are not historical Christian groups. They are non-credal Christian-adjacent groups, and not what I'd consider to be denominations, so when I do make videos there, it will be a little bit different series in a little different category.
@@MattWhitmanTMBH I see. Thank you for clarifying! I'll be looking forward to that series too! And good point too. I had my own broad non-Christian idea of what constituted a Christian denomination or a historical Christian group. And that's why I watch your channel so I can learn these details! Thank you again and keep up the good work!
@@MattWhitmanTMBH Hi again, Matt! May I please peruse you about one more thing on this topic? I see that you've met with the Seventh-Day Adventists who are also sometimes considered Christian-adjacent. I've also noticed that the Apologia Church, who are Reformed Baptists, consider them to be a cult. How do you reconcile your acceptance of Seventh-Day Baptists as legitimate Christians when compared to Apologia Church's rejection of them? I'm just curious because it's interesting to see how two different Evangelical Protestants approach the same denomination. Also, I know you're not affilated with them or vice versa, but you seem to have a similar theology to theirs. Unless I'm mistaken. Again, I'm an outsider who is trying to learn more about Christianity. Your channel has certainly taught me a lot!
Thank you for this awesome video!
Brilliant. I've always loved the Jesuit passion. Also fyi Aramais of the 3 musketeers was to become a Jesuit over the life of the saga
Good to see that you can sit in a room and talk to each other in a civilised manner.
Generally speaking, a LGBTQ-friendly social justice warrior that either doesn't honor God or merely honors him with their lips. Their top guy, Arturo Sosa, said he doesn't believe in an actual Satan. Of course, he or his mouthpieces walked that back soon afterwards.
So very true. Sometimes I think they exist only to assault the Church.
There are a few of these left over from the 70s.. The younger Jesuits have rediscovered the heart of Jesus and his mission. As an old guy who suffered through some of the people you describe, I am so excited by the new Jesuits. God is powerful.
“This war would not have been possible without the sinister influence of the Jesuits” Abraham Lincoln as quoted by Charles Chiniquy, in his famous book “ Fifty Years in the Church of Rome”. Every American citizen should read this book!!
I almost became Jesuit at one point (luckily, my priest gave good advice: take your time and fall in love first). Great stuff.
Whoa, I actually know Fr. Matthew Baugh personally. What a pleasant surprise to see him here.
Another AMAZING gift of St. Ignatius are the "Rules" of Discernment... A way to practically guide us toward discerning God's will. It's an absolute game-changer, and I'm forever grateful to God for allowing Ignatius and the Jesuits to coach us through that.
Worth a sit down. Thank you for sharing.
I was born and raised an Episcopalian. I was awarded a grant for tuition to a local Jesuit university. It was a great, well-rounded, higher education that has stood me in good stead throughout my 70 years. The Jesuits teach you how to think, not what to think.
So did your Jesuit School have a "Brother of Discipline"?
@kevinmccagh849I really envy your 22 month spiritual journey. I chose a 24 yr journey in the military.
@FreeDharmasanghaNo lol 😅
What's the deal with the Jesuit Oath though?
Exactly, its very real...so this interview is full of lies....
Thanks for providing a glimpse into that world.
As a Catholic I appreciate your open conversation with a Jesuit, it was very interesting
Two very powerful films that deal with the Jesuits are _The Mission_ and _Silence._
There is a Jesuit chapel in the middle of the University of Toronto campus (a few steps from Robarts Library) where, at each service all attendants not only got Communion, but we got to sip real wine as well.
Yes
Have you studied the Jesuit extreme oath of induction? Mandatory reading for anyone interested in this order.
