    Nice nice SUV. OH, component cables are the old HDMI red, blue and green cables for video usually 1080P resolution. Yellow, red and white are your composite video and audio cables. Apps for Wi-Fi radio who cares about the gas mileage. Very well put together SUV. THANKS for the video.

    I own a 2016 limited and will not get rid of this tank! Bought it in 22 with 40k miles on it for 40k. Of course I didn’t want to pay that much but felt it was a pretty good deal despite being 6 almost 7 years old. It is by far the best overall vehicle I have ever owned, bit enough for the entire family, towed our 29ft camper like it isn’t there (I added the air bags to the rear coils… wow what a difference) and rides like a dream. The only con which I will take all day is the gas mileage, definitely not eco friendly but I live in the Appalachian mountains. 10/10 for me!!

    • @AlbertaDMode

      All well said! I got last year 2017 Platinum. This SUV is so well designed naturally a keeper. I could care less about the milage over the dependability of 5.7LV8. 10/10 for me too!!!

    We have a 2014 Sequoia Limited and it's starting to have some problems. Don 't ever buy a Flex Fuel one because it gets a glitch for the E85 program sometimes if you accidentally accelerate too much in the first 10 minutes after refueling, and then it will start hard and you will smell raw gas when starting! Also, water pumps all go out on these, it had the fuel pump replaced before we bought it, the starter tries to hang on sometimes after starting with the solonoid not releasing! So you have to shut it off a couple times before the starter functions properly. Also, the heat exchanger on top leaks coolant after many years and requires replacement, a HUGE job! The driver's side timing chain tensioner tends to stick making the left side chain make noise on cold startup. And worst of all, if the coolant isn't changed far more often than the recommended 100,000 miles, coolant gets acidic and can eat through the head gasket! If the coolant sprays under the head gasket on the block side, it can degrade the block enough to where a new head gasket won't fix the problem, and the engine has to be junked!!

    Secondly, I need room for my gun safe, preferably behind the third row. Is there any way to secure a safe to the vehicle's frame back there via a thick cable or bolts?

      We have 3 kids all in car seats still. We were going with the grand highlander (since 2024 sequoia is $80k), but the day we were set, the recall happened and they stopped selling them 😭 so we are debating between second gen or 3rd. Only con for 2nd is mpg for me personally, but now I’m convinced it’s way better than the new one. Hope you find a fair priced second gen!

    The five lug hubs are oversized heavy duty, no need for six lug. Also in general they are over built more like a 3/4 ton. They also underrated their towing capacity on purpose due to safety concerns. Towing the weight is only half the equation, you also have to be able to stop safely. We own a 2008 Platinum with over 250xxx and loved every mile made in this Indiana made Beast, yes more American then the three big brands😊

    • @GransomHayes_author
      @GransomHayes_author 6 месяцев назад +1

      I've always wondered about the tow rating on Tundra and Sequoia. They are both rated about 2000 below everyone else in the same class. I do tow quite a bit and I'm wondering how a 2013 platinum will handle a 8.5x20 box trailer running about 6000lbs well balanced over the axles. Never like to tow near the vehicle's limit. Do you have any experience towing with these?

    I hate them. The key fob features are terrible. No remote start, can’t unlock all the doors from driver door handle, dumb Toyota app, can’t leave car running w doors locked etc
    Very diff for busy moms w full hands
