We had two Sequoia's as family haulers - loved them both for 125k miles. Put TRD supercharger on the 2008 and the 2011 copies we had (both Platnium) - 2008 tuning was never quite right - knocked under load (hard accelation, towing, 91 Cali gas) - after dealer too three tries to fix - we got lucky as we live in S. Cal and they sent me up to TRD in Costa Mesa and they tuned the truck on the dyno - it was amazing after that - towed 7,500 lb. boat - temp gauge never moved - rock solid. We had air suspension which gave a great ride. Can't go wrong - our 2nd one we sold to a friend and they have over 200k miles on it - still on original motor and tranny!
Love my '13 Platinum Sequoia. Original owner. Bought it when it just came off the truck with 4 miles on the odometer and still wrapped in plastic. No butts in the seat. The truck has plenty leg room in the 2nd and 3rd row. I don't know how they did it, but they did. I plan to keep it until until... Don't forget it has all the music playing options (CD player, streaming, usb), except cassette player and it has 3 suspension modes (soft, standard and sport). You can run 4x4 on a dry road with no grinding (do this to get some run time on the differentials to keep it working). I can't safely do this in my '06 Tundra without the grind on turns. A true family SUV. I have the air suspension.
Omg i just bought my 08 sr5 with the factory crappy key fob. Most of the videos I saw with the remote start had the Trd and the fancy key fob, but I open my door and tried it and sure enough it works with my truck as well. I’m so freaking pumped and last night I was almost going to buy one from Best Buy, you save me such a headache. Love you bro.
I'm super glad the 2nd gen is getting more popular for modding. My family just recently grew to the point of needing three rows. Spending days in a cramped midsize 3rd row is too small.
Man all I have is a small hunting dog with the 2 of us and I still am annoyed by the lack of a full size suv market/content. We want to get a second dog and it's like we'll need a trailer just to go do some point to point camping.
I have owned a 2017 Limited going on six years now, and it’s the best vehicle I’ve ever owned! We have a family of 6 and tow a camper and it’s perfect!!

100% agreed. A ton of space. The doggie loves the back window. Great for towing a 6000 LBS fully loaded camper with no issues up and down Yellowstone/ CA
My family and I, wife, 2 kids, just got back from OBX and Carova Beach, NC and the 4WD northern section is all sand and dunes, no roads. It was great, but we have a 2nd Gen stock base Highlander with 4WD or really its 50/50 (fulltime) AWD with all nanny buttons off, anyhow.. It did the job actually quite well to my surprise, but I have talked with wifey and she is adamant about keeping a 3rd row seating option and I want to have greater ground clearance with true 4WD. The 2nd gen Sequoia seems to check these boxes and adds to the cabin space available. It also helps that we are a Toyota household. Thanks for this content and please keep it coming!
I’ve got the 2020 TRD Pro. Solid truck. Tons of space with three kids. Road trips, over-landing, moderate off-roading. I have zero complaints. Legendary longevity doesn’t hurt either. Yours looks great on 37’s. I’m going Westcott preload collars and 295 r70 18. Should be more than enough for what we do…at least until those fox shocks need to be replaced😁
Really like my 2019 Sequoia it’s a great vehicle , rides great more capable then people think four wheeling gets 14mpg . Just looked at a 2024 and went WTF happened here from the front seat to the second row all is good , then you get to the third row seats and its like what happened They totally screwed the pooch with the rear cargo area . Thanks for sharing
I was super close on buying a 2011 SR5 in great condition from a dealer. They were lagging on a couple things so we could close out the deal and I ran into a better deal on a 2005 LX470. I love my LX but whenever I see a Sequoia (1st and 2nd gen) there is a part of me that still wants one. Had I gotten a Sequoia I would still be lusting for a LX/LC.
Nice ride! My 2007 Sequoia has an electric rear window that can be operated with the key on the trunk door, as well as has a rear window control switch up front.
I agree, have a drawer system with a 5 inch mattress. Screens in the windows and fans. Big fridge behind the driver seat, roof net and extra battery. Love it. What a beast. Huge drive shaft and huge axles. Roof top tent and roof rack next with all the fixins. One dependable rig and capable of 500k to 1,000,000 miles with regular maintenance. Just need to figure out how to put a rear window switch inside the back for sleepovers. Keep it coming!
Thank you! I really appreciate the comment. 37's just balance it out correctly. We need to do a few more things to make it perfect but she's getting there.
I am a Jeep guy, but I do really like how the Sequoia looks lifted. The only bid draw back for me, its really wide for the areas in the south east that I go overlanding. I had some really close calls in my Gladiator, I am not sure if I could have made it in a full size vehicle. Great content, just subd to you.
Fun fact. The TRD pro has no mechanical differences than any other model. Just a better grill and wheels. I’d recommend you avoid the TRD pro tax and build your own the way you like to.
I am looking to buy 2 of these second generation Sequoia’s (1 to keep in America and the other to import to Egypt) and the reason why I want to import a Sequoia to Egypt because there are hardly any Sequoias in Egypt
I was about to say looks a lot like my 07 Tundra crew max. The best 4wd since my 1994 Landrover Discovery...I still have it. My tundra has 367,000 miles on it, all original except two starters and about to add a new alternator. Other than that, it's all original, the motor, transmission and fluid....dont know why they say dont change it...but I am going to do it anyway, water pump is still kicking even though I carry one with me in my spare parts tubby when I travel...of yes, I forgot, a big part replacement....my fan clutch. Bought the truck with 124,000 on it and it pulls strond as ever and love 4 wheeling in it and pulling stupid people out the ditches when it snows in Nashville. This winter is going to be especially cold fun because of all the non-snow and ice people that have moved here.... cannot wait for early morning hot totty and hot chocolate towing. The beer is always cold in the back in the winter saving on ice. The yeti keeps it for like two weeks or more in the winter. Thank you for the video

Great video man. We have a 14’ sequoia. Love it. We live in Montana on a long dirt road and it’s super nasty in winter and super dusty in the summer. So that back window I actually hate lol. It’s basically unusable as it will get scratched up or peck full of mud and dust if I use it. It’s a cool feature but not for people who live in a nasty climate.
The back window is the only issue. After a while water will get down there and muck up the ability to close the window with the switch. You may have to take the back plate off to get the window back up.
The sequoia can tow up to 10,000lbs with the 5.7L V8 and tow package. There is a 4.7L engine that tows up to 7,800lbs. All depends on the model, that’s per the manual. Mine does tow up to 10,000lbs, I had to verify this because I pull a travel trailer. Although I only pull below 9,000lbs at max. Secondly, although there are many parts for the Sequoia for the front end because many parts match the Tundra, you’ll have a harder time finding parts for the rear. Especially if you want to lift or upgrade your shocks. I had to buy King shocks because at the time they were the only ones that made rear shocks for sequoia’s without having to order custom shocks.
Hey thanks for the clarification, I had to look up the tow rating myself but I didn’t check the manual. (I should have). However I will say there are a ton of shock options now. Eibach, Elka, dobinsons, and bilstein all make a shock that will fit.
I’m a little to the video lol, but im stuck between a first gen tundra and second gen sequoia. I like how small the first gen tundra is, but can also tow 7,000 lbs, but the second gen sequoia can haul more and is relatively small. This video just made it harder for me to decide!! 😂
thanks for the nice little pro/con vids. Getting interested in picking one up. have you looked into swapping in a larger fuel tank by chance? either a 38 gal or 46 gal? don't see too much info avail regarding seq, but plenty for tundra though...
Thank you for your Sequoia videos brother! I just bought a Sequoia Platinum with the same interior! I can’t wait to start making it my own! What intake system is that?
@@CoolGuyClub thank you so much, what year is your sequoia mine is 12 but don't have the remote start, I'll need to purchase all the harness I found it on ebay
I Love the content! I just got a second gen sequoia few months ago. Limited RWD tho…hehe. Fam of 7 it’s perfect. Lol 3 car seats fits perfectly with a bench. How do you know which part fits? Basically mainly tundra parts. I eventually want to mod later later. Cheers! Yes be different! Woot!
I need something to tow my car to the track and double as something I can haul around my giant bernese mountain dog around in. my favorite part about these is that they don't appeal to the offroading/overlanding crowd as much as the gx470/460s that I've been crossshopping, so more space, more towing capacity, more power, all for less money. I want a platinum so bad, but there's not that many for sale in my area. might have to "settle" for a limited.
We found our platinum in a podunk town and it needed a ton of work but it was a great deal. So I’ll say, you can still find platinums out there for a good price.
@@CoolGuyClub I've been scouring fb marketplace for a bit now and there's only one plat within 150 mile radius 😬 have you made a video on the issues it had when you picked it up? curious to know what I should be looking out for
Our was 220 miles away lol so I hear you. Yes, my 5 reasons NOT to buy a 2nd gen sequoia has a lot of the issues ours has / had. I'm actually replacing all the engine mounts today which is another issue.
Yes! More Sequoia videos, I own a 2003 and paint, engine and drivetrain in mint condition, 315k mi and it still has a lot of life left, room for daze people. Tows like a dream. Can't believe I paid so little. Understimated value. psst! don't tell anyone...
Truck is looking badass. 👍 Is the molle panel on the rear side window the Victory 4x4 one? I looked at those but the comments about the rivnuts on the install vid are giving me second thoughts.
@@CoolGuyClub Some of the comments say to buy a legit rivnut tool and ditch the one that comes with their kit, did you do that? Do you think it would support the weight of a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.
Hello, very good design, your sequoia, could you tell me what suspension and height you placed, I would like to place those suspension and fit the rims and tires
Have a 21 TRD PRO Sequoia and love it. Full black with Wescott's lift and 285's. I have never seen another TRD PRO on the road yet. Rare as hens teeth for sure.
Ls engine z71 Tahoe is my choice , those Toyota v8 are super thirsty on gas at least the tundra I use to have.. I just love LS engines and when things breaks parts are super cheap and the most available.
I believe remote start is an optional feature. Not all 2nd gen Sequoias have it from the factory. I have an aftermarket remote start on my 2019 Sequoia that the previous owner installed.
I wish I knew. Ours came factory installed and it’s a 2012. I did a little research and I’ve found it’s just a remote start module that’s needed to plug into the harness behind the dash
It’s not that rare actually. You can find them pretty easily just make sure the door cards are in good shape. The sun likes to make the leather on this color start to delaminate and crack after awhile. Ours is a 2012
The first gen has a timing belt. If you service a first gen the 4.7 has gone a million miles and gets 15 mpg, i love the second gen and the 5.7 but its not getting 15 plus the first gen is the best looking and the most functional size
How much did this build cost you? If you’re comfortable saying. I wanna do the same, wanna get rid of my current suv as it gets not great mpg with no mods. Would be the equivalent of your tree. Thanks
In my most recent video on it I have links to all the items if you wanted to piece it together according to your budget. ruclips.net/video/Kmj1Gmf7lh0/видео.html Pro tip: DO NOT BUY a Victory 4x4 Rack if you're looking to buy a rack for your rig.

I been wanting one off theses for the longest in 4wd
You can still find them. Hard to find but still out there.
I’m a little to the video lol, but im stuck between a first gen tundra and second gen sequoia. I like how small the first gen tundra is, but can also tow 7,000 lbs, but the second gen sequoia can haul more and is relatively small. This video just made it harder for me to decide!! 😂
I’m sorry for that, I also misspoke the Sequoia can tow 10,000lbs not the 7k I said in the video. I hope this helps you with your decisions.
Truck is 🔥🙌
I’m in a 15 Platinum. Considering moving to a 13 GX just to get $10K back in my pocket. But I do love my tree. 🤔🤔
If you don’t need the space do the switch. The GX feels so much more premium in every way.
booyah man great vid keep em going.
Thank you!
Great video! Had no idea you were from WA state.
Yes I am! Thanks so much for watching
thanks for the nice little pro/con vids. Getting interested in picking one up. have you looked into swapping in a larger fuel tank by chance? either a 38 gal or 46 gal? don't see too much info avail regarding seq, but plenty for tundra though...
I haven’t looked into it all that much. Realistically I would spend the money on a regear before I add more fuel to the mix.
Can you share the parts for the knobs and the mole panel on the dash. Also the bumper and top piece. Thanks. Got a 2008 sequoia limited
Yes sir. We got a ton of videos with links for all that on the channel
Nice rig!
Can you tell me where you come by that grille...Smoken
No problem. Umnitza.com
Sequoias are so dope.
They are huge trail whales for sure
Thank you for your Sequoia videos brother! I just bought a Sequoia Platinum with the same interior! I can’t wait to start making it my own! What intake system is that?
Thank you for watching and you're welcome!!
Wicked. Looks great man. Will this crank out 503 HP with the Magnuson supercharger on it like the tundra with the same V8?
It should hit those same numbers. We really don’t want all that power on our giant rig but it would be rad
Hi I agree with you is amazing suv, one question where did you get your climate knobs? Still tried to find something like that one
Here you go: www.ajtdesign-llc.com/online-store/2007-2013-c42623010
@@CoolGuyClub thank you so much, what year is your sequoia mine is 12 but don't have the remote start, I'll need to purchase all the harness I found it on ebay
The gas mileage comment was spot on. If you turn it around, it's like asking how well a Ford GT goes off road. Irrelevant.
Had to cover it, because I get it all the time. Thank you so much for watching.
Woot!
Basically all tundra parts for the interior and front end fit. But if you ever want to know specific questions feel free to ask
@@CoolGuyClub I've been scouring fb marketplace for a bit now and there's only one plat within 150 mile radius 😬
have you made a video on the issues it had when you picked it up? curious to know what I should be looking out for
Our was 220 miles away lol so I hear you. Yes, my 5 reasons NOT to buy a 2nd gen sequoia has a lot of the issues ours has / had. I'm actually replacing all the engine mounts today which is another issue.
@@CoolGuyClub pain 💀 guess I have no excuse now not to take that trip to NYC to check one out
Awesome rig! Can you share any info on your dash plate? Thanks for all the content!
Yup. ICS fab tundra mount. It took 30 mins to install it deleted the center speaker.
Yes! More Sequoia videos, I own a 2003 and paint, engine and drivetrain in mint condition, 315k mi and it still has a lot of life left, room for daze people. Tows like a dream. Can't believe I paid so little. Understimated value. psst! don't tell anyone...
Ahahah I won’t tell anyone but if I make more videos the word might get out lol
Just got my dobinson lift on my 14'..
Sweet!
Which one? 1.75" or 2.5" ? IMS?
Nice rig!
Thank you!
Truck is looking badass. 👍
Is the molle panel on the rear side window the Victory 4x4 one? I looked at those but the comments about the rivnuts on the install vid are giving me second thoughts.
It is in fact that. It’s garbage. You’ll totally cut up your arms installing the bottom brackets and the whole rivnut thing is not a good solution.

Heck yes
I just saw one the other day for the first time! Really nice looking car
Great content bro! 👏👏👏💪😎🇺🇲👏👏👏
Thank you thank you
How’d you get a black steering wheel??
The links to all the items I’ve purchased are here in this video:

@@CoolGuyClub hell yeah, thanks! Love the sequoia videos.
I just got into the Sequoia game. Where did you get that grille man?
All the links to everything on the rig can be found here:

Sick build!
Thank you so much.
Ls engine z71 Tahoe is my choice , those Toyota v8 are super thirsty on gas at least the tundra I use to have.. I just love LS engines and when things breaks parts are super cheap and the most available.
That’s an excellent choice. I love the way the new z71 tahoes look
Scotty doesn't approve Chevys 😂
What did you have to do to enable auto-start? I have a 2013 limited but it doesn’t have this feature. Thanks for all the awesome content!
I’m not too knowledgeable on that system, ours came with it but I’m sure it can be enabled through tech stream.
I believe remote start is an optional feature. Not all 2nd gen Sequoias have it from the factory. I have an aftermarket remote start on my 2019 Sequoia that the previous owner installed.
What radio and phone mount are you running?
No phone mount. Sony head unit from trail grid pro
The icp plate. I found your other video. Thank you.
No problemo. Thanks for watching!
Hi there, where did you get those black out ac climates knobs from and do you still have your stock grey ones?
Here you go. All the links to everything I purchased are in the description of this video:

I have a 2011 Toyota Sequoia platinum, and I would love to get that grill that you have on yourself, is there a link to it?
I got you covered. Every link to every part is here: ruclips.net/video/Kmj1Gmf7lh0/видео.htmlsi=g866aKAL_i4v18sG
Just bought a 4th gen 4Runner. Looked at the Sequoia’s. What years were the 2nd gen sequoias?
2008-2022
Thats alot of space! 🚀
We call it our apartment on wheels! lol
more please 🙏 we like !
What year/trims we’re factory remote start? My 2011 Limited doesn’t have it.
I wish I knew. Ours came factory installed and it’s a 2012. I did a little research and I’ve found it’s just a remote start module that’s needed to plug into the harness behind the dash
So that must mean that the gears/axles are same as a tundra? For locker purposes 🤔
Yes in the front. In the rear it's IRS and everything there is 100% unique to the Sequoia
How rare is the caramel interior? What year is this one?
It’s not that rare actually. You can find them pretty easily just make sure the door cards are in good shape. The sun likes to make the leather on this color start to delaminate and crack after awhile.
Ours is a 2012
Im guessing the rear console was an option? I see alot of them without it
Correct. The console comes standard on Platinum models
The first gen has a timing belt. If you service a first gen the 4.7 has gone a million miles and gets 15 mpg, i love the second gen and the 5.7 but its not getting 15 plus the first gen is the best looking and the most functional size
My coworker has 500k miles on his. That's the main reason why I'm looking at these things
Holy cow that’s a lot of miles!
All second gens do all of those things including remote start? Which year is this one?
They all had the ability to install the module. Ours is a 2012 with it factory installed at the dealer.
Link to the molle panel on the dash please 🙏🏼
Latest video has all the links you need
Hey man. For the second gen. What year tundras are you getting most these parts from?
Which wheels and tires are on this at the time of the video?
37x12.50x17 Nitto Recon Grappler on Titan7 TAk1 17x8 +5 wheels
The starter option only for the platinums?
I think is a dealer option module for all trim levels
@@CoolGuyClub I’m currently on the market for a 2nd gen, I’ll be sure to check to see if they have this option.
How much did this build cost you? If you’re comfortable saying. I wanna do the same, wanna get rid of my current suv as it gets not great mpg with no mods. Would be the equivalent of your tree. Thanks
In my most recent video on it I have links to all the items if you wanted to piece it together according to your budget. ruclips.net/video/Kmj1Gmf7lh0/видео.html
Pro tip: DO NOT BUY a Victory 4x4 Rack if you're looking to buy a rack for your rig.
@@CoolGuyClub thanks!
