- In this vlog we head to Six Flags St Louis and share our full review from the park along with riding all 9 of the different roller coasters on offer. This includes our reviews from The Boss, American Thunder, Screamin' Eagle and many more of the parks most iconic rides. Six Flags St Louis opened in 1971 and was originally known as Six Flags Mid-America.

Hard pass for me. I won't go to any of their parks because of this ridicules policy. Everything else is a 400% markup as it is and then they want more for lockers. Next thing you know they are going to put coin operated toilets back in.

This has been my home park for the last several years. It has had some up and down years. Glad you at least had an adequate? visit. It generally serves the local area well but doesn't draw too many people from as far away as you traveled. Hope you continue to have a great trip!

Having just spent a few days at SFStL, I was pleasantly surprised by this park and broke many of the "six flags stereotypes" that I was anticipating would happen.

I feel like parks all these old Vekoma Boomerangs, SLC, and Vekoma and Arrow Looping coasters the Vekoma vest restraints. Then, with no head banging, we can all appreciate the layouts more
I recently decided to try a rollercoaster so i went to the closest one, it was the big one at the big sheep, i enjoyed it fully. All thanks to your videos encouraging me to ride one

Bless this park’s heart. It just feels like Six Flags has given up on this park. They used to heavily invest in this park, and then they just didn’t. They can’t even get the proper funding to make necessary repairs to the rides they have. Plus, they’ve really removed some of the more uniquely themed attractions in the past couple years. The Illinois section of the park used to be so unique, but the themed attractions got torn out for an off the shelf Boomerang, Sky Screamer, and Fireball.

I haven’t been to Six Flags since I was maybe 13. We’re about to take our 9 year old daughter and we’re loving this video. It’s like a sneak peak since we haven’t been in so long.
Such a great series, and channel. Thanks so much. Most of the theme park channels I see are usually kind of smarmy and a little off-putting to me (making fun of the smallest things, putting down parks), but you guys just have fun wherever you are and I really appreciate that. If you like those gerstlaur spinners then I think you’d really like fairly odd coaster at Nickelodeon Universe. It’s the same layout as the others but it weaves around other attractions and fits in with the park really nicely.
fun fact, the pandemonium used to be named the Tony Hawk, and american thunder used to be the Evil Knievel. been coming to six flags st. louis my entire life🤗

I’ve never minded paying for lockers. Especially when there is the option to move it from location to location. Maybe it’s because I visit Cedar Point and Kings Island the most 🤷♂️.
Six Flags St. Louis depresses me. A couple decent rides but something about it just puts me off.
Wood coasters are very interesting to me. Some days you will get a great ride on one and the next you won’t. When I was there I liked American Thunder much more than Screamin Eagle.
something i've noticed that has changed about the vlogs is that it's just ride review after ride review all the way through. i would like to see some of that old fun times with friends-type of feel to the vlogs that they used to have.

Funny you are going to a lot of parks we visited on the trip we did back in 2007 with some friends! Silverdollar City, Cedar Point, Worlds of fun, Canada's Wonderland... Nice to see how things have moved at those parks.
You can tell you guys are really enjoying yourselves and making the best of it despite your illnesses. Loving the vlogs!
I also heard you are coming to Bobbejaanland in the near future to test out Fury. As I went to try it out yesterday, I would suggest to get their first thing when the park opens as the queue fills up quickly and operations are on the slow side. Keep in mind they still operate on staggered openings as well.

OMG -- the blue water is still there! I visited that park when it was "Over Mid America" back in the early 80s. A Schwarzkopf called Jet Scream was new at the time (later moved to Astroworld). I was so weirded out over the blue water everywhere! Even the log flume had blue water and all I could think of is how badly that would stain clothes. Astroworld was the same way.

The helix *made* The Boss, to be honest. Removing it was a mistake - the reason C Block trims the trains so much nowadays during the mid-course is to make the new overbanked turn bearable - the trims never used to trim the train that much before the helix was removed, meaning the trains basically slammed into the helix, which was a helluva lot of fun.
the helix on the boss truly was a grand finale. they effectively neutered the coaster. like cutting off the mona lisa's nose, like busch gardens Williamson taking out big bad wolf. it should be a crime, lol can you tell we miss the helix on the boss? and so did our boys from britain, sadly.

I'm really surprised that Batman the ride runs trains with 8 rows, all the other Batman clones I know run trains with 7 rows. Great vlog as always and it's great to see you guys feeling better with every new vlog!
Heading to the Six Flags in Jackson in September. Can't Wait. Visited Alton Towers for the first time in 10 years yesterday. So many good rides now. The Smiler and Wickerman seriously impressed. 13 however was forgettable. Shame about a lot of the water features and other small electronics throughout the park not working. Needs some TLC for 2020

This is my home park. Agree with your review. Screaming Eagle is still my favorite Coaster in STL.
Two things
1. Screaming eagle I my favorite ride in this park
2. Next time you visit this park (if you return) you need to eat at moose burgers
ENgamer 64 moose burgers is the best restaurant in the park. very homey and my FAVORITE in the christmas season. awesome coke machine too

Looks like a good selection of coasters and rides, very rare to see a superman, batman and Mr freeze ride in a six flags park 😂😂 Every parks rules just seem to be different on what you can and can't do... Filming wise around the park 📹🤔
I absolutely loved Alex’s rendition of The Greatest Show whilst on Colossus - genius.
Based on your reviews, I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to visit this one. Looking forward to lots more road trip fun.
I've got to be honest, I haven't felt as of yet the buzz I usually do from watching TPW especially being the America trip and I think you'd maybe agree. I do hope you are still having lots of fun and I am still excited to see what this trip holds.
My favourite moments are when you come off of a Rollercoaster and look like you've really enjoyed it and give a preview of the ride.
The trip does get better throughout in terms of the park quality and also our general thoughts!

I think American Thunder was just running slower than it does usually judging by the off ride. The ride usually just flies through the layout with a bit of ejector, which is crazy because GCIs aren’t designed to go under 0g.

Oh damn, Excalibur was closed? It's such a unique ride, I don't think there are any others left in operation!
ShroomWalrus Excalibur has been closed for two and a half years now. I honestly feel like it will get removed either this season or next season for a Zamperla Giant Discovery, which wouldn’t be the worst replacement.

Great vlog guys. I remember going on one of those Vekoma Boomerangs, at Australias Wonderland, Sydney, way back in the 80's, and guess what it was called? It was called " The Demon ".
Nice vlog! That metal cage on the ferris wheel was a bit over the top, haha... from what i've seen so far, there seem to be three different approaches:
UK: Let's add unnecessary safety features to protect people from their stupidity (aka: Health & Safety).
USA: Let's add unnecessary safety features to protect us, otherwise we'd get sued for millions.
Germany etc.: Let's let people use some common sense.

On topic: Great series so far chaps! Keep up the fantastic work! Off topic: I was at Blackpool PB on Friday (26th July). Fantastic operations all day. Was looking out for you and your team but noticed you’ve did a Vlog a few days before. Managed to get my 5 year old son on all the rides he is tall enough for! Avalanche was a bit rough for him 🤣

Been past this park a few times but never really fancied it. I might just have to drop in sometime if Screamin' Eagle is that good. I think whenever RCDB say constructed by PTC it's more them providing the basic elements such as trains, breaks and such and the wood and the rest is done by the park. Though any John Allen designed coaster is normally a sign of quality.
It sure does have some great rides worth visiting for!

Since you were in St. Louis you should have visited the arch for a couple of hours. It’s the symbol of the expansion west.

The Boss didn’t trim as hard when the helix was there, they had to trim it a lot harder so the double up after what used to be the helix wasn’t too much for the structure and guests to handle.
American Thunder in the back gives great ejector and crazy laterals. I don’t know if I prefer Screamin’ Eagle or it any more (I have to get more rides on it) but both of them are airtime machines. I have heard Boss gives an insane night ride but I don’t know because I haven’t been on it at night.
In Orlando at the moment. Loving these vlogs Shawn. Come home from a busy day at the parks and watch these 👍🏻
Also Shawn, when you get to the end of the vlogs you should do another unwind video with Alex and show a map of USA that show all your stops you did.

Edit. On the dispatch times, I was at Busch gardens today and Cheetah hunt + Sheirka was absolutely awful! 😧 the operators were moving like 🐌
Montu and Kumba and was pretty decent though.
The 1 train Tigris was really good to be fair though. Very forceful too!
Also I’m amazed sea world parks allow on ride footage when so many other don’t. I really don’t see a problem with secure go pros - it’s shame!
