About finding the relay, my 2013 Passat would make the sound but if the door was open there would be no clicking sound at all because it would be making a door open alarm tone. It seems that on some vehicles it may be artificially produced by some sort of speaker separate from the cars stereo system. Some Volkwagens have a device called a soundaktor which makes a bit of extra noise to make the engine seem to sound a bit better. I am not making that up, they have proven that some Volkswagen models have a thing like that. My guess is a device kinda similar to that produces the turn signal click some of those make. Think about it, Volkwagen and Audi are luxury sport cars and the ones greared more towards luxury would have more sound insulation. By mimicking the sound in such a way they might make it something more distinct or more pleasing than the clunking sound of an oil squeeze bottom oil can. With all of the various things that can be changed on those by way of "long coding" there is a myriad of settings that can be changed. I never looked at all there is available to change with the proper tools and knowledge but depending on the vehicle there can be more than you ever knew were there. One word of caution about long coding, one misstep can leave you with a vehicle that will not start or it may do wonky things. *IF* the dealer can help you reverse the changes, it may be expensive too!! They are wonderful cars but an electronic nightmare when anything goes wrong!!

Is there a reason for hyperflash to only occur when putting the car on reverse??

Any idea what could be causing both flashers to flash when my right turn signal is on?

I wouldn't be trying to find the relay if my flashers/turn signals were working and the relay was clicking. How do you locate a non-functioning relay?

I bought a relay from Advance Auto and looked at the relays under the plastic cap under the hood. The text inside the cover mentioned tail lights associated with two relays. The second one I replaced with the purchased relay got the blinkers working again. It was difficult to press in the locking tab and pull up on the relay, but two flat screwdrivers worked. I put Armorall on the locking tab to make it easier for the relay housing to come off once the tab was pushed in with the screwdriver blade. So trial and error was the method of finding the bad relay.

If we used the electronic flasher relay but when the led bulb or halogen bulb broken, does the signal bulb will hyper flashing too?

I’ve read a couple different places that it will disable the hyper flash entirely so you’ll only know by a visual check or when a police officer pulls you over lol
