THANK YOU!!!!!! I’ve had so many people try to explain it to me but none made sense. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I have an OUT-SWING, LH DOOR! YAY.
I was so confused about right or left in or outswings , but your video made it so simple that I feel kinda stupid. It was a short , smart and super kool video . Thank you for the information. Cheers😀
I did exactly this. And got the wrong door. Now this was a mobile home company, but I looked it up and they were right, at least on another website. They told me whichever side the hinge is on (from the outside of house) is the hand it is. If it hinges on the left and swings IN, it’s a left hand. If it hinges in the left and swings OUT, it’s a left hand reverse. And same for the right. I don’t get how this can be so confused. Costing me a days drive to replace.
Why do so many say the exact opposite? It's ridiculous! "To determine & order the proper INTERIOR door replacement for a bedroom, (LEFT or RIGHT-handed), stand and face the door from INSIDE the bedroom." (Hardware stores) say "facing the door from the INSIDE of the bedroom, the door knob hole (opposite the hinges, obviously), is on your L or R. Other explainations say standing from the OUTSIDE of the room, as you would enter. This example is an exterior front-porch entry door to a house. So is this video for INTERIOR bedrooms as well?
I have a question regarding doors. I have a brand new slab and frame and want to paint each side a different color. How do you determine the exterior portion of the door? Is it dependent on being a right or left swing door? Thank you!
Suggestion: could you make a video regarding hardware like door handles that are suitable for right vs left handed doors. While knobs are no a concern, curved level handles are!
Man why is that so hard to figure out, the in-swing, out-swing is a no brainer but man that right hand left hand thing is hard to get through my head, I had to watch the first part 6 times so I can say I think I got it... So if I finally got this, I put my back against my door hinges on my entrance door,,,,,, the door is swung in,,,,,, my door-knob is on MY RIGHT, so that means I have a Inswing Righthanded Door, is that RIGHT!!!!????????
I disagree with your 2 "different" examples... the garage door is the same as the front door. they are both left handed in swinging doors. they could be interchanged with each other and work exactly the same. you dont name a door based on going out of it, you name it based on entering it. now, you could also call the garage door a right handed out swing if you had opened it from the other side.
In the interior example, if you ordered a left-hand inswing unit, your sill would be on the inside of your home. You can install it that way if you want, but it will look bad.
The BEST video explaining the difference between right and left inswing and outswing!!!! Thank you!!
Wow! How can something so simple drive me crazy when shopping for doors. Thank you for making it easy to understand the difference.

After looking at several images online I watched your video. THANKS!!! Talk about hitting the easy button!
Nice touch adding the garage door example since they are often outswing exterior doors. Well done!!
what a simple effective explanation. Worked perfectly for me when picking up a few doors recently.
Thank you!!! Quick and to the point.
This is great for dummies like me! Very helpful.

Well done! I must have watched 4 other videos that only told you the hand with nothing about the swing. Thank you.
Exactly
Excellent and thank you very much Vanessa.
Great video Vanessa.
Ok so where does right/left hand reverse come into play? Wouldn’t a left hand out swing be a right hand reverse?

Very well explained ❤

Thank you for the education

Great suggestion. We will pass this along to our video team. Thank you.
Thank you that helped remind me appreciate it

I’m still confused. Shouldn’t you be standing outside of the house? Not inside?
Stand with your butt facing the hinges. I think this will help to clarify it further. - ruclips.net/video/FRB9gvJ1vMk/видео.html
you are correct. That door is not a LH outswing, it is a RH reverse, aka RH outswing
All residential front doors are inswing, and your method of handing will NOT WORK, when ordering hardware for a door!
Out swing left hand and in swing left hand? Your ignorance is abound and these poor people are taking your advice.
Just came to say you’re cute. That is all. Have a nice day. Good video too.
This video made it even more confusing smh
Right vs left would depend on which side of the door you’re standing on. 🙄
