I had some decent talent, went to some ushl main camps, made an nahl roster, got cut and went to play d1 acha, along the way the racism, harassment, and general xenophobia in the sport is awful. Also it’s not only the coaches, hockey players are generally hateful, insulated, and frat bros. Looking back on my experience a lot of the experiences I went through were borderline abuse. My child will be a person of color and I don’t know if I want him around hockey culture.

I was lucky that i had a great family that i lived with during juniors. It really made a difference and made the season and experience more enjoyable.
