- In this video I show how I made this heart shaped box for my daughter for valentine's day. This is a fairly simple project with the right tools. I made mine using primarily the band saw and a scroll saw. You could make this whole project with the band saw and have a different kind of bandsaw box. You could use a jig saw if you really wanted to. The point is that you don't need a bunch of expensive tools.
Link to download FREE plans on my website. It is a little underdeveloped still under construction and the free website so sorry if you get a bunch of annoying ads. roughcutswoodworking.wix.com/r...

Nice work! New take on a bandsaw box....... only no bandsaw used......hmmmmm. Forget what I said. LOL! Great job Andrew. I bet your daughter will cherish it for many years and hand it down to her children.
Love the box! Easy to follow tutorial. Can't wait to try it.
Nice little project, thanks for the video. I don't have a scrollsaw but reckon with a bit of sweat and care it should be possible to cut the inside curve by hand with a coping saw. May require a bit more sanding but that's fine!
Muchas gracias excelente trabajo,
Very neat job, your little one will love it.
The box turned out really well, subscribed!
Nice Valentine project Andrew, I'm sure your daughter will love it, I know mine would.
Regards,
Bob

That’s great! Thx
That is a really cool idea i just wish i could figure a way to make that with out a band saw
Samuel Bittinger Make the box not as deep and use a jig saw (will probably require a LOT more sanding) or even a scroll saw if you have one. You can pick up decent used jigsaws for around $20.
Ur daughter shld proud of u
❤
Nice
Hey Dave Perks RUclips will not let me reply to your comment. I am happy to see that you are interested and determined. If you have a bandsaw You could come in at the top of the heart like making a bandsaw box. But if you are willing to using a coping saw then it proves where there's a will there's a way.
Bela caixa de joias, gostei
Thank you.
obrigado
Great job doing fine on the vids
Thank you
hello is it possible to know the brand of your band saw ?
THANK YOU FOR YOUR REPLY
An Idea: to keep it closed, you could put two small magnets in the lid and the lip...
What's the dimensions on the wood you glued together what size was each piece
Great job on the heart box, question when you cut the inside heart out how thick did you leave the wall??.
I left the wall about 1/2 to 3/4 thick. Up at the top of the heart I left it a bit thicker to drill out for the pivot point.
looks great. did you make something for your wife, too?
Good job Andrew,I am trying find your websight, love your videos kep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your reply, keep up the good work.
Thank you. I do what I can while having fun. The problem is that I make these videos in my spare time between work family and school and right now I am helping my friend rebuild his engine so it will be some time before my next video. But I will keep the videos coming as long as I have the time. Thank you for watching.
It is lovely, you just ispire me to make a ❤️
BELLISIMO: COMO HAGO PARA ADQUIRIR PLANTILLAS? FELICITACIONES.
My gf's favorite song is Heart shaped box by Nirvana so i might make this.
Hi Andrew you forgot to turn on the lights we cant see anything you are doing.
Sorry about that. I do this out of my garage with p o s equipment and I am not used to recording myself or explaining what I am doing. So when I get going I often forget to set everything up properly (I am just used to being a little worker bee). I will try and remember this next time though. I am still working on keeping my arms and or body from blocking the shot. lol.
all good but please can you turn down the annoying noises during the wood planing and stuff..maybe replace it with some music
Nice video but if you don’t start wearing a dust mask you won’t live long enough to see your daughter grow up .
I was able to watch the video of heart bypass and I must tell you my heart doesn't look anything like that. Hint try using better light and don't cry about the weather.
