    Beautifully done and looks amazing.
    I'm going to order the Dremel MS20 Moto-Saw Scroll Saw to use as a rip saw for my modelling but I'm so impressed with Scroll Sawing that it's going to be a new hobby for me to make 'things'. So I've been watching your whole series and love the way you present and narrate it. Like having a wise old uncle !!!!

    That's really neat. My wife likes me to make boxes for her, and she loves purpleheart and inlay both. I'll have to give this one a whirl. Thanks!

      The only down side of using the Purple Heart was the dust. It has some toxicity and made my eyes itch and mu nose run. So where at least a mask.

    Hi Mustache! Great video! I love your shop! I just started scrolling a few months back, it's winter here in Canada, so the fishing is off for a while and needed a new hobby. I like the way you explain things, my main interest in scroll sawing is compound style I've already made a few things including a box. I will give your heart box a try. Thanks for your video!
    Cheers Ann

    I was told heart wood was very poisonus, and to be very careful with breathing in saw dust.

    I have a stash of Purple heart left from a Job that canceled on me. It is heaviest hardest wood I've ever seen. One of the things I'd like to make with it is an end grain cutting board. Almost afraid it's too hard for my cutlery.

    • @ballzack57
      @ballzack57 8 лет назад +1

      I've done an outdoor end-grain board with Ipe. I wanted a board I could leave outside next to my outdoor kitchen. That wood is literally twice as hard as purple heart. I have not noticed any extra dulling of my knives.

      Great Job Mr. M
      I just tried to cut a piece of purple heart on a cheap scroll saw.
      Took me 30 minutes and two blades to cut 1" x 3/4 " obviously I didn't something wrong .
      What name brand blades do you use, also can they be used on a Harbour freight?

    Very educational, Mike. I'm interested in Purpleheart a lot. What do you think about cutting box joints into it? Too hard?

    • @scarmenl
      @scarmenl 8 лет назад

      Make a jig and cut the box joints on your saw. Make sure you have a sharp blade and you should be fine.

    • @MustachMike
      @MustachMike 8 лет назад

      It should work ok. Check out the box jig videos we have done in the past.

    Could someone explain how the tape adds lubrication?

    • @MustachMike
      @MustachMike 8 лет назад +1

      The blade melts (spreads) the plastic and adhesive through the cut providing lubrication, Use packaging tape. Duct tape and others doesn't work as well

    • @kentmorgan7742
      @kentmorgan7742 5 лет назад

      Reduce lubricity? Melted duct tape? WTF?
