@@danguhzone5130 yea and he can look pretty unique cuz he has a the deathmarks head dangling from his belt and maybe sculpt him standing on top of necron destroyer or however you call those big melee ones
Don't sleep on adding a Lieutenant to the Adrax and Bladeguard death star. It gets pricey, especially if you add an enhancement too. But that unit also gaining the benefit of of Lethal Hits and Fall Back, Shoot, and Charge is so potent. And that eight man unit fits neatly in a Redeemer with three Eradicators. Makes a great multipurpose formation in Firestorm, though you are putting a lot of eggs in the Land Raider basket
If you give that lieutenant war tempered artifice, that brings his power sword up to power fist level if you want the shield, or a power fist that can threaten tanks.
@TuShan18 I usually prefer Forged in Battle for the Lt in this squad, if I'm not using it for my Eradicators. Being able to automatically convert a hit from Adrax into an auto-lethal is nasty, and the free six on a save is fantastic on the Bladeguard invuln as well
I love that youre still making salamander videos, i am a space marine player and i play the salamanders with firestorm as my main choice! thank you for your hard work!
The best performing Codex Space Marine army at the Nova GT this last weekend was a Salamanders’ player, James Lovett, who went 6-3 and came in 35th place. Found out he had a RUclips channel, which has been super helpful for learning about firestorm assault force. SalemtheAmateur 😊
I'd just like to add, if you're willing to trade out vulkan and adrax. Black templars run as firestorm really well. You get access to the emps champ, helbrect, grimaldus, and sword bros....paint em green, who cares
I do this with dark and blood angels Dark angels gets me cp generation and better termies Blood angels let's me tear up in melee with strong aggressors right out of a land raider Who cares if they're green? I won't let me picking sallies ruin my capacity to change it up
The one big drawback to Salamanders is the lack of CP generation. You can use Captains to cut down on a strategem's cost or some units might give a refund - but this is all very unit specific, and it will rarely be on the unit you want. Codex Marines need a standard unit or character that produces CP. Still love my Salamander force though!
Don't forget that Firestorm works well with transports too! I run my Salamanders with 2 land raiders at 2k points, one redeemer and one standard. Beyond that, Vulkan Hestan makes Infernus marines legitimately dangerous and don't sleep on Centurions. They seem to fit the theme well and I enjoy running them occasionally.
If you want to run terminators, giving a captain the war tempered artifice attached to a squad with chain fists makes them a great tank or knight buster. The increased strength profile makes sure the captain can keep up with the rest of the unit. You can also lock down objectives by having a terminator ancient with a ranged squad by giving them an assault cannon or heavy flamer. Thunder hammers and shields can also work well, and a chaplain can also keep up with their damage using the war tempered artifice. Terminator lists can hit like a freight train when used correctly in this detachment, but you’ll need to think carefully about their deep strike, or putting your eggs in the land raider basket. Good thing land raiders are finally great again. And salamanders LOVE their terminator armor.
GW aren't interested in the Compliant Chapters, apart from the Ultramarines. The Salamanders now consist of 2 datasheets, a far cry from the Supplement of 8th and 9th.
@GaryP336 how much more options have non- divergent chapters than codex ones? How many unique buffs do have codex chapters? Stop being an asshole. Codex marines were done dirty in 10th
Unique datasheets sure, but they have plenty of shared ones, just like every other SM army, you seriously trying to say that ANY space marine force needs more models as opposed to the rest of the game? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@GaryP336 that's not the point. They had a Chapter Trait, an improved Tactical Doctrine, 6 unique Psychic abilities, 6 Tactical Objectives (for 8th), 16 stratagems, 5 unique special-issue wargear, 7 unique relics and 6 unique warlord traits. Then Bray'arth was sent to Legends and ditto Pellas Mir'san and Harath Shen. So no, you don't know what you're talking about.
Both Eons of Battle and Midwinter Minis have had videos on Salamanders in the past year, showing how to kitbash some parts and make them more Salamander-y. I also recommend the Painting Coaches video on how to paint Salamanders quickly, which is a very good recipe I use. Karandras Green is the best color for the armour IMHO. Unfortunately as for GW, the support is rather limited but at least they have two characters when some other chapters only have one. And hey, at least they have one Standard model that is painted in promotional material (on the website and on the box) as a Salamanders unit rather than an Ultramarines unit, that being the Land Raider Redeemer. One thing not mentioned in the video is the Horus Heresy Transfer sheet which has lots of transfers with the old iconography, but also costs a pretty penny. Also, just last weekend GW announced a new printing of an omnibus collecting the Nick Kymes Salamanders novels into one book. I have not read them yet though and most of the community that has seem to think they are more in the mediocre-to-bad range. Finally, I am surprised that the "Units to expand the Army" section did not include the Gladiator Kit, which is one of the best Kits GW sells and can be built so that you can switch between all three variants (Lancer, Reaper, Valiant) without the need of magnets. The Lancer in particular is probably the best anti-vehicle firepower available to Space Marines. It is one that I'd recommend to any Space Marines player after their initial purchases, and a second one is often a very good purchase as well. However, I have also found that a regular Las-cannon Land Raider is also pretty decent for Salamanders. It is rather expensive points-wise, but it can be quite effective and play double duty as both an anti-vehicle platform and a transport that allows you to extend the threat range of a Bladeguard unit with Adrax attached, particularly in the Firestorm Assault Force. It can also transport Aggressors if you like, but unfortunately the limited seating capacity of only 12 means that if you want a Captain in there you need to cut a model from the unit which is rather wasted points. You can also dispense with the Captain but that means that your Dev Wounds stratagem will cost the full 2 command points.
Get all the gravis + play Firestorm detachment, they have awesome guns at the cost of no assault so advance + shoot basically takes away their downsides!
I enjoyed making a Salamander task force that leaned into the humanitarian and being less destructive to the settlements that they may be sent to. Phobos, Eliminators, and Thunderstrke speeders. Was fun to play.
Nice, startet them 2 month ago when i stumbled upon the warforged strikeforce. Though there are a bit to many intercessors. I dont need 20 of them. Some will go towards blood angels and dark angels.
Best fit ive found for W.T.A has been putting it on a gravis captain for a strength 11 power fist alongside a strength 7 chainsword. Leads to him being genuinely terrifying in melee and able to tear chunks out of elite squads and vehicles all on his own
This is a funny coincidence because I have been halfway thinking about getting back into the hobby. I used to play Tyranids and I had a smaller army of Eldar, but I also had a few Space Marines from some of the old starter boxes that I was thinking of painting up like Salamanders. And a drop pod, and a rhino. I don't remember why I bought those. I guess I figured I could buy a few more models and play my Space Marines in low point games, but they still seem like odd choices.
A fun time is having He'Stan lead a 10-rack of Infernus Marines, Adrax and a Lieutenant leading a Sternguard squad, and a Captain each leading 6 Flamestorm Aggressors and 6 Eradicators, the Cpt. leading the Aggressors having War-Tempered Artifice. Also, 10 Hellblasters and a Brutalis Dreadnought. Into the fires of battle, unto the anvil of war! Vulkan lives!

Im sure there will be a bit more in this edition for me to consider and also the rumored new launch box for HH supposedly themed on Salamanders. Im hoping in 11th ed we see the untouched loyalist legions get some time to shine, now that the 3 major ones are getting part of their range refreshed in 10th ed
A good expansion to the army is the box with the indomitus pushfit stuff. With eradicators, blade guard, chaplain, and judiciar. The melta weapons are great anti tank. The judiciary and chaplain are always fun characters to run. And bladeguard are often pretty viable in most lists.
Starting a Salamanders army in 10th edition goes like this: Take your time. Get the units you think look the best. Salamanders like flamers and melta obviously but really they use anything and everything so don’t feel like you’re boxed in. And then wait for 11th edition where you might actually get to play Salamanders instead of green Ultramarines.
Knowing what I know now, I would definitely change up my salamanders. I have 20 infernus marines, 20 intercessors, 10 assault intercessors, 10 hellblasters, 10 infiltrators, 6 bladeguard, 6 aggressors, 6 eradicators, 15 Scouts, 10 devastators, 20 terminators, 5 assault terminators, 10 sternguard veterans, company heroes, 5 heavy intercessors, and a bunch of different characters including adrax and vulkan hestan. Also have a land raider, drop pod, repulsor, Gladiator, rhinos, redemptor dreadnaught, 2 ballistus dreadnaughts, stormraven, stormhawk, and 2 of the gunships. Honestly I'm thinking of selling off some of what I have. Sell some stuff off and have more heavy intercessors, aggressors, eradicators, just more heavy stuff that's salamander coded. Either that or sell off what I have and go for the raven guard/charcaradon successor idea I've had brewing for a while.

Gravis captain isn't as useful with Forged in battle since Aggressors Auto hit, I normally put that on an Apothecary biologis leading Eradicators So they get at least 1 lethal per shooting
Put the adamantine mantle on a gravis captain and laugh as any shot doing 4 for less damage is reduced to 1 damage, while 5 and 6 damage shots turn into 2 damage.
Forged in battle doesn't proc lethal Lethal needs to be an unmodified roll of a 6. Forged in battle does not state this. Reference: eldar enhancement that states it allows you to treat it as an unmodified 6
Please, please, please... stop recommending the general Space Marine and Leviathan starters as a good place to start any Space Marine army. The Terminators, while nice updates on a classic unit, will sit on a shelf because they just don't do what you need them to. The two characters just don't work in the boxed force. Infurnus squad is okay, but will also become a shelf warmer quite quickly.

Put the adamantine mantle on a gravis captain and laugh as any shot doing 4 for less damage is reduced to 1 damage, while 5 and 6 damage shots turn into 2 damage.
Forged in battle doesn't proc lethal
Lethal needs to be an unmodified roll of a 6.
Forged in battle does not state this.
Reference: eldar enhancement that states it allows you to treat it as an unmodified 6
Just gonna go ahead and say to not take the space wolf patrol box
VULKAN LIVES!
My salamander army is mostly gravis
As a kobold I found it offensive of you refering our great dragon masters to these anti xeno salamader cosplayers!
Aka "dark angels Light"
VULKAN LIVES
The question isn’t how. It’s why 😢.
Can anyone give me a suggestion on a 1k points list for Salamanders?
thanks gw for ruining steirnguard and making their combi-flamers and combi-meltas the same thing
Is it possible to do a video on How to start a Carcharodon Astra army?
Brah i miss the op af gravis captain... so sad...
never been this early

"games workshop is the most expensive hobby" what about cinema then ? 10$ for 2h of fun, how EXPENSIVE is it ??
I wouldn't recommend that no one build a salamander or any codex marines chapter at all. Gw is destroying us, this dosnt make any sense.
What are you talking about you have like 30+ datasheet where some faction doesnt even have their whole range available to buy
All they need to do is give codex compliant marines have old oath of moment.
@axel9937 I would prefer 10 datasheets that make a male sense, than 50 without synergy
How to start a salamander army?! Get yourself the dark angels boxes and play them like dark angels because GW fucking hates codex compliant marines smh
go to sleep
@@spaceMerine who are you, his Dad? He's not 10 years old btw.
