  • A simple anchor clip proved it's worth for NSW fencing contractor Tim White recently. His steel fence posts survived a challenging flood where he added a simple ground cvlip prior to driving the post. Tim is sold on the clips afterseeing posts that he had not clipped on the same fence get washed away. Find out more about the clips at

Thanks Tim, another excellent educational video, I must chase the clips at my local rural store. Cheers

The cutout with the grinder is a good alternative but I think the downfall is the fact there's bare steel exposed and would decrease the life of the post. Just a thought;)

Ultimately it depends on the soil, but you are talking about a reduction that wouldn't be measurable even under the most scientific methods.

Yeah, predicted this response! Well done! And I guess you are right, but I thought it was a great idea for those that don't want to spend a couple bucks on clips. Steel posts typiucally go a couple meters in, so no big deal to loose a few cm after a few years unless you are in really sodic soil I reckon. Great comment. Cheers.

Excellent tips, Tom. Where are the clips available from? What brand are them?

How far do you hit the three metre posts in? What is the best way to hit the posts in, I have a front end loader on a 100hp tractor?

    Or just use 3m posts.

Moving people to 3m posts is an important but difficult step. It is amazing the power of tradition.
