Bri I just watched you video on cleaning your house while children were gone. WAYTO GO,! Kooto's to you! Your house may of been cluttered from all those little guys but that is so normal. You took it like a wind storm. Your a good momma and are such a great example to all especially young mother's. You showed them with effort they can accomplish what may seem to be overwhelming. And now your garden project to be added to that. Your simply amazing and I wish I had financial ability to send you gift certificates for the rest of the summer to help you hire a cleaning company to come in for 3 hrs a week to help keep it nice and give you a much needed assistance. Maybe some who have the means or a member of a cleaning company will see this and take action. I pray you didn't have to turn your comments off because of rude comments. If someone has not walked a mile in your shoes they just need to be still. I hope this was up lifting and encouraging to you.

I never knew that these kinds of mounded beds were considered 'raised beds'. This was the way my Dad always set up his garden, I think it's a more efficient use of space, since you don't have to factor in structures that might whack your shins into the bed spacing! 😁 Doing it right, Bri!

My kids would have their own row, planting what they wanted and that taught them gardening and to this day, all grown up they have wonderful gardens. I had freezer meals always when they were young too, WHAT a blessing they were. I was a single Mom.. my children were 9-7 and 2, their dad came around on his way through to wherever his job was, chat at them for 10-20 minutes TWICE a month, ( his loss ) and it shows today!! He cries at me all the time on how the kids don't visit him but are at my place constantly ... what goes around comes around they say sad- but true. I'm glad Art has the kids a couple days a week . The freezer meals were simple when you'd spend hours out in the gardens : ) Sunday was my day for preparing meals for freezing, my baking day and lunch planning for the kids school lunches. It just all worked so well Now, I still have freezer meals, 4 gardens ( one is only garlic so not a lot to do there, ) and I have hens, 2 goats and siberian huskys and totally love my green solitude way of life, there's a brrok down in the woods and I can have trout whenever and THAT TOO is such a blessing.. You're doing awesome Bri, You'll get there and days coming just go out and walk and weed if need be to watch your work flourish THEN comes the harvest and canning : D

Was just thinking, Art probably watches so to see the kids, so this is for you Art- not only do I garden and tend to my animals but I LOVE the woods, you would show different things in and about the woods, and maybe do videos on that, and progress on rebuilding the old house as well with building small shelters for when snaring/hunting and fishing,(when I go to the brook, I tend to stay the day), and we'd love to see you come back to you tube too... PLEASE think about that

As you said, they drain a lot faster so need watering daily when the weather is dry. I’m so happy for you and can’t wait to see the garden progress and what you choose to plant. @@tammywisdom3701 Wood Chips are expensive and grass grows all the time and costs nothing. In the US, people overestimate their power. The decomposition of wood takes away nitrogen, and does so for several years, which takes away "vitamins" from crops. In addition, thousands of grubs breed there. I know because I had wood chips for 10 years and I don't want any more.

I decided " FORGET THAT" and just started planting here in Central TX a few weeks ago and then went and bought some Tamuk meat rabbits. Btw I live in the City of Waco with neighbors at every angle but i still want to chase my homestead lifestyle dream.
God writes our story but we have to put one foot in front of the other to get where he wants us. Your doing that and I'm so proud of your amazing strength. I pray for peace and healing over your and endless amounts of strength and energy.

What a beautiful garden. I love the sunny location but I would like to offer a suggestion based on my previous experience. Try and make the outside row facing the street some pretty hedge like a solid hedge of blueberries or elderberry. This will hide what you are doing there from neighbors who may not appreciate the view of a veggie patch in the front yard. Many years ago when I had my first veggie garden I worked so hard on it and I was so proud of it that I remarked to my neighbor how beautiful it was. Well, he went into a tirade screaming at me it was an eyesore and he was going to call the hoa and complain. I could have gotten mad back but I stepped to his side of the yard and looked at it through his eyes. In our perfect little housing development it did stand out and didn't match the beautifully landscaped other yards. I worked hard to fix it up so he had a better view. He really appreciated that I considered his point and we were good neighbors after that. I hope you have many happy gardening hours with your kids.

The way you've started your garden may well not be the way others would do it. However, they also don't have 7 kids to wrangle, and home-school on their own either, so there's that, and you now have a great space to get sowing/planting in. Now seed shopping, and I'm sure there's also someone who can moan about how we all choose to do that too. I'm looking forward to seeing your haul!

Best investment you could've made for your garden uses. I'm so proud too have a dump wagon too. It will make my project's so much faster and easier. God does watch over all our journeys. God bless you all for sharing and giving us extra ideas too use.

So happy to see the amazing progress you have gotten into achieving your garden. Such a Blessing to have wonderful friends to help you with tilling the area for your garden foundation. So glad to see that you used the silage tarps to warm and control weed growth. Raised beds areas is an amazing system. Can't wait to see your family's gardens growth to harvest journey. I know you had mentioned in an earlier video that you can't put up fencing, but wonder if you could do like a decorative type of 3 to 4 ft high, maybe picket type fence around the garden area... just a thought ... Love watching your families adventure into this new home. You are an Amazing Mom, homemaker and strong woman. Bless you all 🥰
