Oh that tip number 9 is so useful. At one point in my life I was starting to put on a little too much weight, and when I decided to start exercising and eat healthy I told most my friends about it. It's really helpful, cause then you feel you have a "responsibility" to go through with it, so your friends don't see you as a person who dont hold their promises. And I can almost guarantee that your friends will cheer you up and support you in the thing you say you're gonna do.

Good video Antonio. Brett at Art of Manliness has done a couple of videos on this subject matter. One of them is his Big Rock First. He uses jar, rocks, gravel, sand, and water as a metaphor for prioritization. And he also did a comedy skit called Do It Now. However, I do like you doing a video on the subject matter as it gives a different point of view. I do like it when you step out side of fashion and talk about life skills. I think mainly they kind of go hand and hand with what you have been doing with your channel.

I've been struggling with procrastination for years.... no kidding.. putting of school, not getting important things done.. and I still procrastinate sometimes, but I'm slowly changing for the better (trying to get things done NOW opposed to later, taking initiative, etc) as of late..
This helps more.. thanks again, Antonio.

Thanks! I am grateful for your effort. However I think the 9 tips in this video are more related to getting thing done effectively; Procrastinate is mostly related to fear or do not understand the importance / value of the result.

I'd go with sitting and thinking in a split second. (Then again, I am an introvert, so I LOVE being alone and thinking... I wonder why it's so scary to humans...) I'd hate loosing my tablet and/or internet tho.
I really needed this video tho. *Laughs* I should take notes.
Here's a problem; What do you do when your calendar beeps and you just can't manage to push yourself to do it, or you're busy doing something else and you wanna finish that up and you just forget about what you -should- be doing? How do you force yourself to do something that you don't really wanna do there and then? (Especially when you do not believe in the hype of anything being -absolutely- necessary. I need to breath, eat and drink water, everything else is optional. I have no ambitions of the normal human kind, and I am confident I can survive in any given situation without money if necessary.)
What kind of small rewards is it possible to use that isn't food/candy? (I can't afford things like massages or anything, and I generally always do whatever I feel like, so it's maybe the same reason people have when they try and buy me gifts, cuz I've already gotten myself whatever I want... It's nothing that is special. ^^; )
But you have quite a few tips I can at least test out. ^^

  • @stone4574
    @stone4574 9 лет назад +1

a to-do list could be just as helpful than a calendar in some situations. im a college student, and i sometimes find that just a mental list of stuff that i have to and want to do, along with due dates and timing information leaves me free to work when im not feeling unproductive, without the stress of additional structure clashing with how im feeling at the time. Post-its are my friend. i can write up "history paper french and american revolution 8-10 pages 4/27 email 2330" (fake paper and date) and i know it will take me a good day and a half to find sources and write the paper and the next line might be "retro games, 4/25 1900 lobby" and if i feel confident that i will finish the paper in time, i will know to go to the video game event in the dorms lobby. i dont even put the note anywhere, i often leave it on the pad on my desk or next to the coffee pot in my dorm, just wherever its still visible from my bed where i work on stuff and hang out and do pretty much everything.

Tip 8: Pay for help to hold you accountable like a training coach or someone to do some tasks for you.
Tip 9: Go public with your plans. Post about your plans on social media. Hmmm... seems going onto social media is a good way to procrastinate, but seems now it is a way to help you not procrastinate. Encourage people to hassle you about why you didn't lose that weight by Christmas as you planned. Shaming will surely help you. HA!
You can procrastinate nicely by doing many things on this list vs actually starting on a task you aren't doing. First... just watch this video and that will be a good 10 minutes.

Antonio, I got a concern. Today, I was told by my Teacher that I should get a more professional hair cut. In a few months, I will be attending a professional competition that deals with Inter-networking. I am not sure what is a professional looking hair cut for a bigger gentleman. What kind of hair styles that are considered to be 'professional,' and how do you make your hair style work with clothing? Does the hair play a big part? Should I just stick with the buzz cut?

A tip on to-do lists is to look at your to-do list at the end of the day and just do 10(or a number of your choosing) of them in the next day (schedule them constantly).
One of the extremes is to overview your to-do list, pick 5 or 10 of the most important and scrap the rest.

First tip starts 0:55 - before is an ad. The first tip will take you a good long while.. perhaps a lifetime.
Tip 1: Figure out who you are, what you stand for, and where you are going in life.
Tip 2: Take everything you have to do and make an Eisenhower Matrix out of the list. He goes on and on about an example of prioritizing is spending time with his kids.
Tip 3: Make a to-do list, but then schedule tasks using something like Google calendar.

Great video some good points, was wondering if you could help, I've been stuck in a stalemate sort of mood for a couple of months and I torture myself at nights with this, I can't decide on a name for a business I want to get the ball rolling with.
I'm 21, left school at 16 and so far doing quite well for myself in the workplace without a degree and all that stuff. I work in the motor trade and want to start a business around insurance, car sales, body repairs, servicing and mechanical repairs and literally anything related to cars but those 4 would be my most highly knowledgeable areas.
I also however want to leave myself open to expansion into other areas such as property development and general property services like building contracting, letting, etc. as this is where the family history lies whereas I went the other direction into the car trade.
So a name like "Warren Auto Specialists" for example isn't suitable as that limits me to one industry, I would like advice on coming up with a BRAND, I'm not saying I'm going to be anywhere near as successful but like Virgin, Apple, Google etc. where your brand is always the same but you can branch it out into Virgin Travel, Virgin Money, Virgin Airlines and so on.
People say it's a little over ambitious, give yourself a name that makes sense and then re-brand later but I really want to nail it first time as it's important to me because I want to convey a feeling of trust, professionalism and quality, I want to give off the impression to the very first customer that I'm an established brand and not just another unimaginative local business.
If you have any thoughts I'd love to hear them, keep up the good work I love the videos you put out they're all very well produced and good content
    Ryan

Utkrisht Sharma Do take the time to meet this lovely girl, but don't cut out time from your professional / student life. Meeting a cute girl is pleasure time. Take time off video games to see her, take time off watching tv. You should be able to have a social life and still ace all your exams.
