1- think u have alot of time. 2- overwhelmed by the tasks u taken on. 3- too many distractions in your life. 4- your a perfectionist. 5- you really dont know where to start. 6- you have low energy. 7- boredom 8- culture of laziness 9- no rights to delegate 10- see no meaning or value in the project.
To be honest, I found myself in a hole with 6,7 and 10. It's really hard to stick with something when nothing has a meaning. I don't know how to break this freakin cycle and push the reset Button. Does anyone know what I mean?
As an aspiring entrepreneur, I have always struggled due to procrastination. I read this book 'Procrastination Elimination Method' by John Isaac which was really life changing.
Two steps to kill procrastination -reduce the task to the ridicules(reduce 1 hour work to just 5 min) -Remind yourself of your why(know why you are working) And that's it...also implement valuetainment tips 🤣👌
It's really just what state of momentum I'm in. I procrastinate when I don't have much to do, I don't procrastinate when I'm super busy. That's really counter intuitive but momentum is a strange thing
I told myself that I shouldn't continue work on a project until I solved my procrastination problems. I guess that is a form of perfectionism, not for the end result, but for the process leading there. Thanks Pat for another wonderful video!
Procrastination, more often than not, is a consequence of not believing in what you do or being chronically tired - Either find something that resonates with you more or take a step back and chill fo a moment

I'm a procastinator and I'm Working on it. When I procastinate I take on more work, because I have all this time. Then it comes crubling down. It's hard to stop taking on more jobs. Doing to-do lists helps me a bit.
Another simple way of dealing with procrastination in a single step is to procrastinate procrastinating. Let's get these things done now so that we can postpone the postponing until after we are done and clear.
Procrastination is a problem solving skill that can easily become detrimental to implementing solutions. If all solutions were completely obvious to us, we would quickly move from problem to solution at the speed of Will.
I don't procrastinate if I have a goal or objective, I only procrastinate when I don't know my next step. Do anything, just move forward, don't get stuck
Patrick I love your channel. Very interesting and varied. I retired very early. I wish I saw your business videos when I was working. I love your interviews especially.
We procrastinate because the brain wants to avoid stress. There's no distinction in the brain between good stress and bad stress. If the brain perceives something as requiring effort, is difficult or challenging, as something it would prefer to not have to do... it generates stress. Distractions provide an escape from stress because it's an activity we want to do. We actually have a positive attitude towards our distraction which is why there is less or no stress associated with it so the brain moves towards that activity.
thank you for this video .. I see myself as a big procrastinator but never been able to understand on why I do that. Your video explains it well on things that make me procrastinate. I think I am a victim to some of the 10 factors that you listed. Now I am going to try and catch them before I fall into that trap and avoid procrastinating. I am glad that I noticed your video. Thank you !
Reading a book called "Eat That Frog" and the author talks about looking at a goal as salami or Swiss cheese. Brian Tracy is the writer. Attack your project 1 slice, or 1 hole at a time. This video reminded me of that concept.
Another timely piece of content by you and your team PBD. Some things that I already was aware of but needed to hear again to re-implement and introduce. Thanx.
Hello Pat... the video is very accurate... and very detailed ... i'm living this everyday,,, it almost seemed as if you were observing me... thank you for the solutions... many regards..
The video editing in this video is lacking compared to the older videos, it’s really distracting and I also prefer when Pat is standing up so we can see his body language. Great content though! Thank you for you helping others
As I grow more mature, I find that #1 is less and less of a problem. However, my downfalls are clearly #4 and 5. I almost never finish what I start, even when I really want to, so I usually do nothing because I think I won't finish this thing either. I'm working on shifting my mindset and finishing really small stuff to get momentum. I also started making lists and it helps sometimes. Otherwise, I ask somebody I trust to help me through the whole process, or I write everything down as if I'm brainstorming, then organize. Sometimes, #6 ans 7 kick in, #6, I do the smallest tasks then make sure to get enough rest or do activities that will give me that boost and I delegate for #7. I hate doing my taxes, but I've got plenty of accountants around me that just love to do that, so I ask one of them. The hardest part is when I can't delegate, but it solves most of my problems. The small victories/reward system really helps!
