4 voices sounding so thick, big, full, reasonant.. It just rings every single time these guys at it..!! Henry is a force of nature also... I can't wrap my head around just how rich his bass actually is.
Did someone build this chamber for them to sing in? It is magnificent. I wasn't being catty. They broke the last chord so thoroughly that after hearing these amazing guys sing so perfectly for the entire song, definitely not barbershop 101, or even 402, but the graduate doctorate course. Then blowing the last chord, which is definitely not barbershop, is perfectly understandable... The Easternaires' version is scratchy, but they did not blow that chord. Then again, they sang together through two basses and nearly three decades. I'm certain they would approve of this. The Easternaires were always more driven by artistry than rules. I knew them all. And I know all these guys, too. Fine men, with amazing talent. Every time I hear my scratchy recording of the Easternaires, I also listen to this, which is much like going back in time to an afterglow with the old quartet. They were that good. The respect these guys show for them is wonderful. They sing it as they did. Perfectly. And they were very good, For three decades. They came in second, I think, to the Buffalo Bills. And they were in Top Tens until the 70s were old. That's a lot of singing. God Bless them all, old and new. Geniuses at music and their art.
I’m blown away at how their voices intertwine and how they maintain such tight harmonies and keep their notes separate but as a whole perfect sound. Where can I hear more ?
I was brought up in a SPEBSQSA family but I haven’t heard a barbershop quartet in a long time (well, not counting The Buffalo Bills in The Music Man). Nice job on Gigi, fellows!
As much as I love listening to this quartet, I still think Gas House Gang was tighter - but having brothers matching tone colors so well gives them a huge advantage for that. (What's the piece that Voces8 sings to them? It sounds an awful like an "Ave Maria" but isn't in Latin... I'd ask on that video, but the comments are turned off.) Greetings from South Africa. Incredibly powerful voices . Of all quartets I've heard nothing gets closer to this performance.
One of the best quartets you'll ever have the privilege to hear. Nice job guys!
could be better imo
@@chandelierius they hold the record for the highest scoring performance in a barbershop contest ever.
I love today's quartets singing old Easternaires' / Bob Bohn arrangements!!!!

The Easternaires are smiling down from Heaven.
Too bad they blew the last chord! LOL! I guess discord is not their thing!
