I would not recommend Buying it or even the New Gearwrench scan tool they are bot the same tool ........and Xtool is the most Dangerous software to use on your Vehicle.......... I have over 25 years going back to some of the first ever diagnostic hand held units and have been testing there software's for them from Bosch snap-on Fcar Idutex Autel Launch Vxdiag Humerdaz xtool shenggi and a couple smaller out fits ...........and I will tell you stick to Launch products for the last 8 years they have had the best overall platforms and stability

    I found this information very useful. Funny how some people are pissed, like you wasted their time. Thank you for making this very informative video.
    I find the biggest issue with researching scan tools is most companies market all their tools as if they're the best tool on the market, with vague claims about scanning all codes and erasing codes, but they never tell us the limitations of each device. Most of the time they imply that each device can do everything that's possible to do with any scan tool.
    I've researched dozens upon dozens of scan tools, over the past two years, and none of them give us a full list of their possibilities. Most only list half a dozen or so functions, at best.

    • @ToolDemos
      @ToolDemos  2 месяца назад

      @@jublywubly that’s exactly what makes it hard for me too. They never say what they can’t do, but they scream really loud about the things that they can do. If a scan tool cannot take a vehicle out of limp mode it is no good. This tool can be purchased on Amazon for roughly $170. It Can reset the timer in the ECU and synchronize the cam to the crank. This is how you unlock a vehicle from limp mode. Mechanics will not tell you this they will charge you for all those fault codes that are not correct. You must reset the timer in the PCM and synchronize the cam to the crank then fix the next fault code that shows up that is the original problem. This fault code can be as simple as changing the transmission fluid or changing a will speed sensor.. PC m's do not commonly go bad. And it is very unlikely you need a new transmission rebuild just because your fluid went low. When fault codes pop-up if they are not taking care of a timer starts counting and when it runs out it puts your vehicle in limp mode and usually won't let it shift out of second gear. You can simply reset the timer in the PCM with a bi directional scanner which can be purchased for as low as $170 on Amazon. Simply email the company and ask them if their scanner will perform this task. If they say it will only erase codes it is not the correct scanner.

      First: they have an interesting subscription idea where you can just buy the cars that you want, but nowhere on their website or on Amazon or on the App Store does it tell you what the subscription prices are. It’s always been my thought that when a company won’t tell you the price or it’s very hard to find, you’re usually not going to like it.

      FCA (Dodge) products are some of the more difficult ones to work with. They require you to use authorization to get past a central gateway in your car’s network. To do that, you have to have a subscription to Autoauth that will provide you with a password. Then you need a scan tool that will work with Autoauth. There are many that claim they can do it, but I only currently trust Autel and Launch scanners for that.

That's crap if so. I can see paying to update to newer models but paying just to use the tool you already bought is crap if that's what's required.
