I just bought it the the price 298$. Feel it so nice. With the OTOFIX D1 Lite, you'll have the ultimate diagnostic tool at your fingertips. Equipped with a 7-inch touch screen, this professional-grade device focuses on providing comprehensive solutions for reading and clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) across complete vehicle systems. From oil resets to DPF regeneration, EPB resets to SAS resets, and even injector coding, the D1 Lite has got you covered.
I mean the scan tool is awesome if you know how to use it and read the codes. Nice. I bought it too, but it came out to 383 with the code and 30-dollar coupon Amazon was offering. I saved 40 bucks plus 6 bucks I had in reward points. So you got a great deal.
I have the INNOVA 5160RS and am very satisfied with it. I thought about buying the AUTEL, but changed my mind when I saw the price. Thanks and very good review.
I work on most of the Rusty Crusty Beaters with a Heater and keep them going. Mostly Honda and GM, and occasionally a Chrysler or a Nissan, or a Ford, but since I closed down my mobile mechanic business I just try to stick with GM, because I like them. I use a Launch Diagun V X431 and it has bee a great tool. I was only supposed to come with 2 years of updates and it popped up a warning telling me it would no longer update, but it still downloads them and installs them. I program GM's, Chryslers, and Fords with my Chinese Clone MDI 2 Module as well.
I bought a Foxwell NT-716 a couple of years ago for $194. When I bought it, it had like 4 reset functions. I get updates free for life, whatever that means? Anyway, with the free updates, I now have 9 reset functions. Totally amazing. Software is a bit funky but works.
Subscription fees are a big killer for scan tools and the DYI guy. High-end tools have high-priced subscription fees. Earlier this year I picked up a Xtool. So far it works great. It is a Android tablet type.
I have a couple of tools like that. Everytime I look at them, I always think of my dad. He was a mechanic and when I was a kid he'd always say to me, "A real man must have tools." 😆😆 Guys like us should put our tools together and rent'em out. LOL!
@@bkrgls I have a bad habit of buying tools that I don't need at the moment but I can see myself maybe needing them as some point, sometime in my life, hopefully! 😅. I agree with your Dad, a real man has tools so he can fix things for his friends and family. I'll admit, there is no cooler feeling for me than having my buddies over and impressing them with my crazy collection of tools.
@hustleeveryday6582 My mom is always impressed when she comes over to my shop and see the tools I have and I say to her, "Yeah, but I want/need this tool too." 🤣🤣🤣
I was impressed over 10 years ago when they started making apps for smart phones that you could use for diagnose your car for free with a cheap Bluetooth dongle from my Amazon not saying they’re same level as this, but for the 30 bucks having something to read codes in your car really not too bad
The one I bought for 90 bucks does pretty much everything my snap on one did at the shop I worked at. Will even give tips on how to repair the trouble codes. Even can read srs codes for airbag systems. Very pleased for the price
@@veelink6345does torque pro allow for codes to clear. I've ran into the same issue as shown in the video with the catalytic system code not clearing after pressing the clear code button. If the TPro can do that I'll probably get it.
okay - this is wild. having an autel i bought for $1500 that can do almost everything ive ever wanted to - im jealous a good jealous. going to have this as the mobile to go one- thank you very much for this video. subbed.
I have the Autel MX808 which I purchased in 2018 with the latest updates. When I first purchased it many needed features weren't installed. They updated in 2021 and allowed the vin aspect which is needed if you get an identical module second hand and to marry to the vehicle. I added a key and fob to a couple friends vehicles. I'm a DIY'er and it is highly beneficial in troubleshooting your vehicle and preventing a $150-$200 hour dealership diag
I have the otofix as well... Awesome tool for the money. I keep it in my box at work and I work at Honda and if I need to do something quick, I grab it instead of my dealer tablet
This is pretty tempting, I've been using ISTA for years and getting tired of having to haul a second laptop around when I'm working on cars or helping friends when buying used.
looks cool since now days you need one to change oil and breaks even light timer's headlight alignment even option and especially the dreadful door and seatbelt buzzers
We don’t need top brand scan tools. Having the proper tool just makes life easier. For example I was using the shop old snap on scan tool kept going around in circles chasing electrical issue which is what the code points to. Went home got my new snap on Zeus plus figured out the issue in 5 minutes. I would have eventually found it as I examined the whole system but it would have taken me a few hours more. So yes, it is worth it to spend money for high end scan tools it saves you time and money in the long run. FYI as a professional technician. I own all my own scan tools as I tell my tool guy idgaf about what type of vehicles come into this shop I care will it do my personal vehicles lol. I have VCDS for my vw and euro vehicles snap on for everything else and next on the list is auto enginuity. So a good technician doesn’t need a scan tool just better to have one. The more functional the easier it will make your life. Btw my $700 VCDS smokes my $15000 Zeus on European cars. So look for a scan tools by functionality and not by cost or name brand.
I've had mine for over a year and use it at my shop. and it's great for the price. And can't be beat unless you need to program keys or want to use a scope. And I have 3 of them if that tells you how much I like about it
i have the otofix d1 lite. And an autel ms 908. And a snap on verus. The cheap otofix is my new go to for most cars. I really like it. Gets the job done. I don't have any complaints. For $300 it's a heck of a deal @@Richard5873
I have some cheap Amazon MUCAR brand scanner that cost me about 400 bucks. It does way more than my old work's 15 or so thousand dollar snap-on Zeus tool could ever do. Communicates with more cars and more features. Even a lot of medium level reprogramming and security features. Many add on packs for it that you can buy in its app store for significantly less than the snap on fire meats updates cost you. Now the tool is 2 or 3 years old, but still has been a great tool.
I’m a little bit crazy, but I may buy that otofix, clone the hard drive, and transfer its image to a much better performing device like my new galaxy tablet. In theory it would work as long as I spoofed my hardware id’s. Also, regarding your issue with that Honda. I’ve experienced the same issue with a permanent catalyst efficiency fault after tuning. It turned out that the tuner had entered some of the vehicle’s information incorrectly and the tune file had been the issue all along. Interestingly, the flash had always gone successfully each time with the wrong files so it had me stumped for a while. Eventually after troubleshooting everything mechanical with the vehicle I was positive it had to be the files. Bingo! I had them recreate the tune files and I reflashed the car. No problem after that.
Yes that is what the issue ended up being. A tune on the car that disabled the p420 light but not the fault. Used Hondata and found the post cat o2 monitor was disabled… but it had a cat. Popped it back on and did a drive cycle and passed it!
For a consumer, this would be a great tool to have. If not losing the Bluetooth connector is the biggest issue, that shouldn’t be an issue for someone who doesn’t have a garage with multiple techs.
The thing about scan tools that drive me crazy is not one tool does it all. Like a conspiracy where tool makers set down and divided the market. I was told the best scan tool is actually hp tuners. Never used it so cant say true or false.
Yah. I use HP Tuners for all of my vehicles. It's literally the most powerful scan tool on the market. It does more than scan. It can change the fundamental programing of how the cars computer works. However, it has a large drawback. You need to pay 100 bucks every time you hook it to a new vehicle. Which isn't cost effective for a professional who just needs to do a simple scan.
@@FluidMotorUnion 12:00 Probably legal liability, separate Autel from Autel USA, Autel gets to license their software (that was probably not licensed properly by all the manufacturers and why it's so cheap and offers so many capabilities) to other companies that just change the layout and sell the tool for even cheaper. Autel makes money either way and probably avoids legal trouble with car manufacturers? BMW can't make mechanics not use a tool especially when BMW wants to charge 30k a year for ISTA lol I'm just speculating, I remember reading up on it after someone informed me about how Snapon scanners have to deal with licenses and proper procedures which result in their scanners being expensive and have less capabilities compared to these Chinese brands who don't have to worry about that stuff. I've used Launch previously and would rather use it than ISTA for Bmw battery replacement procedure cuz it takes like 2 minutes.
@@FluidMotorUnion Yep, have had no problem custom coding modules however you want with my D1. Had to program out some non-serviceable side marker lights in the headlight housing "on my own car". $2000 per headlight otherwise.
You need to check out the Xtools D7! It's been out for years and is very capable, I would love a comparison of this Otofix vs the D7 for what's most worth it update and capability wise! Thanks for the video
I love mine. If you know how to sideload ES File Explorer you can dump all the carlines you don't need and clear up half the memory. Pair it with an Autel VCI 200 and you have a J2534 device for many different makes, not all but many.
What unit do you have? I see them over here in the Netherlands priced from 491 euro for the OTOFIX D1 Lite to Otofix Evoscan Ultra 2749 euro, they all look similar. I 'm looking for a unit for diagnostics on 1996 to 2006 Jeep wrangler TJ and 2007 to 2011 Jeep wrangler JK thanks
@jbhk7977 it is the Otofix Lite couples with the VCI200. But you don't need the VCI200 if you are not concerned about DoIP or reprogramming. It is a J2534 device for some manufacturers. Not all but most.
@@mikecdyerhow is the vci200 used for programming? Do you hook a laptop to the otofix and using it in conjunction with the vci200? Also when do you know if a DoIP scanner is needed?
@shidukirider, you would install the drivers for the VCI200 on your laptop, and it will populate when prompted for drivers when using the J2534 software. It can be done by BT, but I use a quality data-capable hardline for the PC. I will always hardware when given the opportunity. To the internet and the car. How to know if a car is DoIP is honestly a good question. I know when the scanner prompts me to hook up to the internet. Without Googling, I can't give you that exact answer, though.
I've been using an auto fix D1 light for little over 6 months now and it has done everything I need besides key programming and module programming. Every now and again it won't scan a random Nissan
For an Apprentice tech the D1 is more than enough to get by and more. For a DIY it's definitely overkill but the full suite is extreme worth it if you have multiple brand cars. I sold everything when getting out of automotive and only kept the essentials. I now have a Launch CP123x Elite and a Blue Driver. It's more than enough for me to do side jobs from time to time. I'm sure I can trade my 36" snap-on 1/2 breaker bar for a D1 when I decide to go back full time.🤣... 1yr of free update and $120/yr later on isn't so bad.
can it perform GM tech-2 functions? Such as module reprogramming for instance for those of us with older GM vehicles that have had to replace modules, like BCMs it's always those BCMs..., and even ECMs due to age and failure. It's been a pain to find a tool that is both reasonably priced and also able to reprogram those critical modules that even dealers don't do any longer.
As long as you can plug the obd module in it should, mine does all that. I'm not sure what the D1 Lite doesn't include, I have the standard D1 which is about a hundred more with it's coupon on amazon.
I have two orphans, a '96 Subie EJ22, and a '99 6.5TD from DD. The later has a 4L80E trans, and going in my '86 E350 Class C RV. The EJ22 has a more interesting retask ahead. So programing them would be a plus.
It's not that we don't do it. Typically I didn't do it unless I replaced the module. A lot of dealer techs don't like programming and module unless they replaced it. It's also about warranty as well. I can't back that module. Of course the manufacturer obd tools are going to get the job done. Best tool I ever owned was the Snap-On Scan Tool. Not too much I can't do with it, including programming keys, programming bcm's, pcm's, and reloading original os's. Just have to purchase a subscription to the manufacturer your trying to program and be willing to shell out 10-15k for the scanner. It's widely known in the dealership world that Autel is trash and every other no name Chinese made scanner are also trash. They promise the world but in the end you get on the horn with there product engineer and he says oh we can't do that. These are good for at home garages to save you the hourly charge to check the CEL code.
@johndoe8785 the problem is that the modules are unavailable from GM entirely. So most dealers won't use customer sourced parts, with reason. In fact I've never found one that will. But many GM vehicles from before 2010ish are third party, reman, or some third party NOS if you can find it. I live with a busted BCM because I can't program it and no dealer can get a new one and won't install one I buy. In my case it's minor and only effects the remote lock, unlock and some days it decides to work some days weeks it won't. No telling. But if my ECU dies, or the BCM goes out entirely w/o a tech2 I can't replace broken . modules. Been looking for a reasonably priced scanner that can do keys, ecm,BCM work. So far, not really found anything which leaves me hoping and praying. Can't even get a reman ECM for my car, I have to send mine out to be repaired by one or two places that may or may not be able to repair it and there are a few specialist scrappers that might have a usable module to buy. My car had the LAST in the USA real gm ac pump installed, it took direct contact with higher ups in GM to find it and it took months. It failed about 2 months ago. Only source now are parts store remans. For those of us who are mechanical competent, it would be nice to be able to fix these issues on our own without being forced to gut the systems to be replaced with some aftermarket ECU solutions.
@meatybtz If I was going about it for the first time. I'd source said module from a vehicle of the same year make model. But I'd also look for similarities in VIN due to batch programming, the closer the VINs match the higher probability it will function. It's possible if you find a functional module from that vehicle that it could be plug and play, maybe. I would talk to your local collision shops and see who does there programming, lookin for a GM guy who'd take a hundo and a hot coffee. Other than that, yes I do agree. The manufacturers have begun doing rollbacks on available software at least a decade ago. Can't even replace your brakes on a new car or replace a bulb without requiring BCM programming now. I got out years ago when I saw the downfall begin. It's really quite sad. Anyway, good luck on your adventure sir, I hope your efforts are fruitful.
I have a SnapOn MT2500 (with every key and update), a ThinkScan Plus S7, and a Foxwell NT 710. Each one has advantages/disadvantages over the others. The SnapOn does OBD1 and digs deeper into early OBD2. The ThinkScan and Foxwell update with wifi and have special packages built in or available for purchase. I toss one in the trunk whenever we go on trips.
You said this would be great for DIY, but missed one important part. What is the subscription cost and what happens after that expires? Can you still use all of the functions or does it stop working unless you pay a few hundred dollars to “update”. That type of cost doesn’t make any sense to the average person trying to repair their own car.
I own this scanner and I love it, 3 years free updates, after 3 years is 199.99, BUT you are not required to update it to continue using it after free trial expires
In theory, there's no reason to update, especially if you're the target demographic for this device (people working on their own cars which are therefore most likely to be made before 2010). If all your cars are more than a decade old (and if you're into this kind of device then you probably are planning on driving older cars all your life) then in theory, the updates are completely pointless. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Frankly I'm amazed it gets updates at all, since it should be very easy to update it by downloading some file and sideloading it (it's an Android tablet, after all). Am I naive and they really are that scummy as to force you to pay money for a teeny tiny database file that has basically no changes for cars that already exist?
They really just wanted a 3-5min video but I honestly wish I bought this instead of some of my other pro tools. I don’t know if the link they gave us is commission based for us or not, but I don’t care. Just letting you guys know it’s impressive.
Sold. A little late to add to my Christmas wish list, but I usually get a few Amazon gift cards, so it's already in my cart ready to when I get my gift cards. Great video! Thank you
I bought an Autel in fall of 2019 and it found codes on my 2019 Acadia that that expensive GM dealership scanner didn’t find! They used the codes found from my Autel to fix my Acadia when it was having issues. i hate the cost of the yearly Autel updates !
Thinktool pro has free updates and full access for 3yrs or 3 updates included with the tool. It was a 700dollar tool but with no yearly fees its a good deal if work on mutiple cars and brands. @alexvillalobos7137
We bought an Otofix for my shop a couple of months ago and have no complaints it's as good or basically the same as the Autel units we use in my other shop, and better than the Snap On or Matco units that need an update which cost more than the Autel or the Otofix respectively. I also use the same Launch unit when I buy cars to flip. We did buy the D1 Max Otofix since it had similar features to our Autel units ECU coding etc..
Bought an Ancel DS600. Had boot up issues and they (finally) got back to me and sent me a process to reflash the sd card. Now it’s a brick regardless of updates having lots of problems. I’m just a DIYer and wanted a decent tool. We will see if they actually come through with help, said they are sending the problem to “engineering”. The new version DS700 is like $900.
I have been putting money aside for new diagnostic platform. But I have been waiting because they keep getting better so I was going to wait until I really need it. I still use a Snap-On modis, the big red brick. My cars range from 2000 to 2015. I am still going to wait, but this I could afford now. At this price I have enough left over to buy one of the new smoke machines instead of my homemade on that works but is a pain in the butt to set up. Thanks for the info. This could pay for itself in one job.
I got one of these a month ago and I love it, it’s super small so you don’t have to worry about a large ass scanner taking up your box, although it doesn’t do everything, for the price it’s most definitely worth it
Use the Yopdon Phoenix Plus and Otofix D1 Pro in a professional shop daily and couldn't be happier. Two scan tools under $1500 combined I can buy new ones every two years.
So IF you gave me model #'s of the 2 you talk about. I can work on my 2001 Ford Excursion V10 ? Or my Father's 6.7 Diesel Ford. Will it set timing on my Excursion? Bleed my breaks on Excursion? Reset tire size to be accurate in dash? It has a 6 inch lift. Will one of yours reset fuel readings in gages IF the 6.7 had a larger fuel tank added?
It it can do things like program smart keys, TPMS, code PCM/ECM/TCMs, is Bi-Directional, and have all car brands/Makes updates for life… the other guys should be very scared! I’ve used Autel but they’ve gone super greedy and have been regressing features. Launch is still one of the best so far from my experience.
So many scan tools and none of them support my vehicle - 2000 LR Discovery 2 - I really need something that can deal with programming keys, coding modules (i.e. when you swap a bad BCU) and diagnostics of things like ACE and ABS systems.
The bluetooth dongle and battery dying is what got me. I dont need one. I bought a used snapon scanner for like $450. (Ethos edge) and will likely use it until I cant. I just have my own vehicles and am not a shop. I hopefully and am done buying vehicles though for a bit haha.
This in great, ive been holding off on buying one because every time i look at them i get confused what does what. I want immo access to program additional keys and need to do a crank sensor relearn on a gmt810 chevy. Hopefully this does the trick
The biggest problem I have with things like this that are targeted to DIY people is the (artificial) built-in limitations that either have you pay for a software upgrade to access all the features or worse, a subscription model. I could see paying a small one-time fee for a new year/model vehicle but I should be able to do everything the unit is capable of, indefinitely with the initial purchase.
It’s just updates that costs. It works the same as the day you last got the updates and I believe this has two years of updates free… but I get what you’re saying. There are some items out there promising free updates for life, but autel has a track record of providing valuable new functionality in there updates so at least you can assume it’ll worth it… at least for a professional shop.
@@FluidMotorUnion That's not true. As someone who has owned Otofix, Topdon, Autel, and Launch: If you want any IMMO or actual programming features, you have to pay to unlock those features on top of the yearly subscription, as well as purchase additional hardware. For example, if you buy an ottofix IM1, you pay $200 something yearly, and if you want the diagnostic features, it prompts you for another $200. Then if you click the programmer software, they prompt you to buy more expensive hardware. Even worse, lots of the features are just plained locked out, and not available for purchase without buying the bigger "pro" units that are literally just the same android tablets with a bigger screen. Complete racket. And all extra functionality absolutely does stop working if you let your subscription expire, or aren't connected to Autel services for so many days. I literally just had an otofix lock me out a week ago. These units are fine for a hobbyist, or low-level repair shops, but you still have to pay to play, endlessly. Otherwise, your tablet reverts back to it's most basic form.
yes i said for year tablet style code scanners programmers cost way to much normally. why not sell more unit dirt cheap that seems to allude their thinking snobby to me all people should own a box that can fix stuff right to repair for all
I didn’t research this particular brand or product. But I do know that Autel has a factory in Vietnam. And the“O to” means “an automobile” in Vietnamese (obviously, a loan word from English). Given this information and all the similarities with the Autel products mentioned in the video, it’s safe to assume that this is an Autel’s sub brand targeting to the more frugal buyers, so to speak. Cheers from Vietnam!
OtoFix was originally a German brand that Autel acquired. The Vietnam factory is mainly due to American thinking that China is “bad”. Saying it’s made in Vietnam removes some of that stigma. Plus some Chinese Technology cannot be sold in America (Huawei for example) so this is also a way around this. I have toured that factory in Vietnam and the work it top class.
If I didn't already have five different scan tools, I'd probably give this thing a spin. Worst code ever was on a 2014 VW Jetta TDI for EGR cooler performance low, and that turned into a heater core job from hell. My friend's car sat in my garage for months while we found the motivation to soldier on.
I've had the Otofix D1 "standard" since last year, works fantastic and yes it's just an Autel licensed under a different name. The only problem I've ever had with it is when using the wireless OBD adapter via bluetooth and there was a lot of other bluetooth devices nearby it would constantly lose connection. But unlike a lot of other diag scanners they inculde a usb 3.0 port on the OBD adapter so you can connect it directly if there's too much wireless interference, and let me tell ya, it's smoking fast when using a usb 3.0 cable. It's so much faster communicating with vehicles I only use the usb cable now. You'll eventually run out of storage space from updates so you'll need a micro SD memory card to expand it's storage. First thing I used it for was an ABS module that had lost it's programming/coding from a wiring short, pulled the correct coding online and perfectly matched it to that vehicle.
I’d like to see a video on Launch and where to buy. Sounds like there is a Launch USA, which might not be the same as the Launch that sells on Amazon. Sounds like Otofix vs. Autel. The difference being that it sounds like the Otofix works great in the USA where the Amazon Launches might or might not - depending on who you listen to. Interested in hearing what you know.
Remember when resetting the oil change reminder what just peeling the sticker off the window and putting a new one on?? Newer vehicles are sooo overcomplicated that they are ridiculous
I'd be really curious to see if the topton scanner that connects to your phone could be useful on the cars you work on. At the shop I work at, almost every person has one because they can do the oil resets super quick. It's only like 70 bucks and it's bi-directional, so you can command most components to actuate and whatnot.
Xtool is my best cheap scan tool. Better than factory Toyota scan tool and that feedback is based on an actual factory worker who scans faulty toyotas being built.
you work out on the side besides mechanic ? congrats , looks like you make the time. I consider working on cars , working out , hahaha ,Just found this channel , you posted any work out videos ? and hola from Miami , FL 🌴
Launch USA don't want to know or support it probably because the software has been pulled from the X431 CRP919E BT and put onto cheaper brand hardware, same as Topdon did The functions look to be the same, not having inspected everything in detail though

I’ve got a box full of one-time tools 😭
I have a couple of tools like that. Everytime I look at them, I always think of my dad. He was a mechanic and when I was a kid he'd always say to me, "A real man must have tools." 😆😆
Guys like us should put our tools together and rent'em out. LOL!
I'm to the old age that when I see cool new tools and I say, "Wow I wish I needed that."
@hustleeveryday6582
My mom is always impressed when she comes over to my shop and see the tools I have and I say to her, "Yeah, but I want/need this tool too." 🤣🤣🤣
It was on lightning deal today for $319. With the code in the video I got it down to 279.99 😮😁👍 thank you OJ!
What's a lighting deal?
@@jrc2905 something Amazon does where they put items on sale for like 24/48hrs and advertise them on the homepage as lightning deals.
I was impressed over 10 years ago when they started making apps for smart phones that you could use for diagnose your car for free with a cheap Bluetooth dongle from my Amazon not saying they’re same level as this, but for the 30 bucks having something to read codes in your car really not too bad
Paid $20 for my Bluetooth OBD2 dongle and grabbed the APK file over 10 years ago and saved it in my email........so every phone I get it's running it.
yes Torque Pro and a $18 odb reader was a life saver when I had my ford 6.0
Torque along with the manufacturer specific PIDs is everything I could possibly want. Used it to diagnose engine, transmission and abs issues.
If the TPro can do that I'll probably get it.
okay - this is wild. having an autel i bought for $1500 that can do almost everything ive ever wanted to - im jealous a good jealous. going to have this as the mobile to go one- thank you very much for this video. subbed.
This is the one I bought over a year ago during a sale! Been great for working on my vehicles. Definitely hits way above it's price point.
Works on MB?
@@kudynski It does. Works well, lots of functions and live data graphing.
I like the product reviews thrown in every now and then.
As the owner of FMU, we trust you OJ.
Velcro the module to the tablet. Also get a thin power bank and velcro it to the back of the tablet. Its what I do with my tuning tablet :)
It’s the eyebrow movements for me that made me subscribe 😂
Yes. I agree. The man has a powerful presence.
Buy a screen protector. Phone parts places can often cut a piece to fit. Bought a matte one for my spectrum analyser $6000.00 worth.
looks cool since now days you need one to change oil and breaks even light timer's headlight alignment even option and especially the dreadful door and seatbelt buzzers
This video is what I needed, I was thinking of buying an autel, but now ... well see bout that. Thank you guys :) greetings from Germany.
You will be glad you did. No joke this thing is decent.
How do you get it? In België is like 900e😭?
I've had that same one for a while now. Really like it.
Most name brand scan tools will be way over price because they know Mechanics needed them to make money PERIOD!
true
And I have 3 of them if that tells you how much I like about it
What is the most newest model of what you use ?
i have the otofix d1 lite.

This channel should have over a million subs. You can’t get the info he puts out anywhere in this short amount of time
My final price was with tax was $298.64! Damn good deal
I would have jumped on it at that price but the best I could get was $359.10 so it's a pass for me.
Less then $250 if you look on the choice stores 😂 straight from China otofix..
How much would you charge to put it on my android tablet?
Who's "them"?
@ChefofWar33 thank you. I will have to look into it. 100$ is not bad considering I have only 4 vehicles
No this is honesty as close as it gets. Better than Hpt…. Which is why I did a full video on it as our first “review”. I’m legitimately impressed
BMW can't make mechanics not use a tool especially when BMW wants to charge 30k a year for ISTA lol
I'm just speculating, I remember reading up on it after someone informed me about how Snapon scanners have to deal with licenses and proper procedures which result in their scanners being expensive and have less capabilities compared to these Chinese brands who don't have to worry about that stuff.
Most any of the LR are DoIP after 2018. A few I'm missing but its coming in a big way.
Put a small piece of a fluorescent pet leash on the DLC dongle so you remember to remove it when finished.
I live in Argentina, and those tools are EXPENSIVE AF.. . lookin right into buying one!
I've been using an auto fix D1 light for little over 6 months now and it has done everything I need besides key programming and module programming. Every now and again it won't scan a random Nissan
Thank you for this video, been seeking a diag tool at a lower price point thank you agin brother!
thanks for the info just bought one for my s63 Mercedes 2010 love your channel from Australia
So you pay $200.00 good for 3 more years ?@@kylelake3262
@@kylelake3262$200 a year???? wtf?
Great video, seems like good value for a smaller form.
They really just wanted a 3-5min video but I honestly wish I bought this instead of some of my other pro tools. I don’t know if the link they gave us is commission based for us or not, but I don’t care. Just letting you guys know it’s impressive.

I bought an Autel in fall of 2019 and it found codes on my 2019 Acadia that that expensive GM dealership scanner didn’t find! They used the codes found from my Autel to fix my Acadia when it was having issues. i hate the cost of the yearly Autel updates !
It’s insane my autel scanner shows I have to pay for a membership to have full functions…
Thinktool pro has free updates and full access for 3yrs or 3 updates included with the tool. It was a 700dollar tool but with no yearly fees its a good deal if work on mutiple cars and brands.

Awesome video. I dont need it, but I want it now. Thank you for an informative video.
Nice video! We reviewed the D1 Lite on our channel almost 3 months ago, and it's a decent unit especially for the price 💯

You can purchase this tool to try it. It is super nice!
Auto fix was bought by Autel for their IMMO capabilities that were first used in the IM508 and IM608
I got one of these a month ago and I love it, it’s super small so you don’t have to worry about a large ass scanner taking up your box, although it doesn’t do everything, for the price it’s most definitely worth it
Thank you for the advice. I am truly interested in this product.
Is that Topdon not Yopdon ?
It it can do things like program smart keys, TPMS, code PCM/ECM/TCMs, is Bi-Directional, and have all car brands/Makes updates for life… the other guys should be very scared! I’ve used Autel but they’ve gone super greedy and have been regressing features. Launch is still one of the best so far from my experience.
So many scan tools and none of them support my vehicle - 2000 LR Discovery 2 - I really need something that can deal with programming keys, coding modules (i.e. when you swap a bad BCU) and diagnostics of things like ACE and ABS systems.
this channle is hands down my favorite one to wach any more always doing cool stuff

First time watching the channel. I am getting into fixing my car myself. But i got to ask, What's your workout split!?
The bluetooth dongle and battery dying is what got me. I dont need one. I bought a used snapon scanner for like $450. (Ethos edge) and will likely use it until I cant. I just have my own vehicles and am not a shop. I hopefully and am done buying vehicles though for a bit haha.
Does it give you bilateral control of ECM? Like turn on or off individual parts?
This in great, ive been holding off on buying one because every time i look at them i get confused what does what. I want immo access to program additional keys and need to do a crank sensor relearn on a gmt810 chevy. Hopefully this does the trick
Sounds good to me. I'm buying it and using it at the car auctions
Free updates for life just is not sustainable. At some point they have to fund all the changes and it all breaks down.
yes i said for year tablet style code scanners programmers cost way to much normally. why not sell more unit dirt cheap that seems to allude their thinking snobby to me all people should own a box that can fix stuff right to repair for all
I didn’t research this particular brand or product.
Can you reset and calibrate Dodge TIPM or PCM? And can you view data like transmission pressures and more?
i have it and i love it , its a great scanner for my ////AMG
Does it have tpms relearn
If I didn't already have five different scan tools, I'd probably give this thing a spin. Worst code ever was on a 2014 VW Jetta TDI for EGR cooler performance low, and that turned into a heater core job from hell. My friend's car sat in my garage for months while we found the motivation to soldier on.
I'd be very interested in seeing how this scan tool cooperates with older BMW's, like e39 generation.
I have hp tuners for tuning, and autel mk808s for general scan tool/diagnostic stuff.
Thanks for the review - added it to my wishlist for when I need a new scanner!
That one looks promising. Been using an iCarsoft Pro+ for my japanese cars. But I might upgrade to that one.
Will it do a relative compression test and test injectors?
Remember when resetting the oil change reminder what just peeling the sticker off the window and putting a new one on?? Newer vehicles are sooo overcomplicated that they are ridiculous
Sounds great!
