Alexander McQueen Joan of Arc Collection Fall/Winter 1998 - #TBT w/Tim Blanks - Style.com
Starring: Tim Blanks
Featuring: Alexander McQueen
I think he really created a visceral experience. Nowadays, designers are scared, maybe, to really go for it, because everyone wants to be "cool" (whatever that means). Fashion, like every other creative medium, is a reflection of the times we live in. Designers, at their best, speak to these moments, comment on them, question them. McQueen was the best at that.
We need designers, VISIONARIES, like him again. The World needs people like him.
People are too basic nowadays .
What I loved the most was not something shown but was spoken when he was asked about what appealed to him in people, the Saint or The Devil. His answer speaks to me as thou he looked at people equally; not higher lower than each other. The sinner within is something we shouldnt fear or hid from, Lee showed us that yes we all have a dark side, but we can use that energy that we would normal use to fear but express in a beautiful way. I dont believe he means to embrace the bad in its entirety, but the energy we use to feed it that makes us hid in fear.
Every time I watch this show or look at still from it, I am chilled to the bone. The brilliance and the macabre are what make me wish I was front row at one of McQueen's shows
There will never be another genius like Lee...btw Erin was brilliant never knew she played Joan all these years. Erin has a wonderful resume of characters she help being to life!
I got absolute chills from watching that. So ahead of his time, and unlike anything we've ever seen. RIP.
god, I miss him.

Lee was such an artist. RIP
Intense and amazing show, loved the tailoring and shapes.
I also loved the ¨satanic¨ concept
