Well done, Tony. I just don’t understand how some people behave. No thought for others or our environment! 😢
Like others have said Tony, it looks to me like cannabis growing pots. We live in a rural area and when my husband was walking in the next village the other week he reached a farm where to be honest people tend to dump stuff on the grass verge. He came across at least two dozen felt type potato growing bags full of compost with the roots of plants and a bin bag full of foil. Obviously a harvest has happened and they get rid of perfectly good containers in the hedge just like your finds. Good for you picking them up, saves you money too!
I agree as the pots are varied sizes indicating the growth of the plants. Either way an awful thing to do wherever you are!!
@@laurathomason8693yep obviously not auto flowers
No... Not cannabis.
Cannabis tends to be grown in that expanded clay stuff (Leca) and it will tend to have SUPER thick root balls.
Also even as a starter for cannabis these are bad.
This is someone clearing out a greenhouse or something.
I wonder if a house has been sold and the previous owner had one of those small plastic greenhouses and was having a go at growing something.
Defo a grow nearby 🙈
Lol cannabis pots. Looks like normal plant pots to me.
I started a community plant pot and tray recycling scheme in two villages with help from the council Community Waste officer. Went very well -collected about 1000 and gave back to 3 schools for their growing projects, as well as local growers. Will do again this year. Some were shed/garden clearouts but over half were commercial contractors we think - all good quality with carry trays that would have ended up in landfill.
Thank you for caring, best of luck with your gardening 🥰 what lovely dogs🐕
They look like heavy duty Soparco or Aeroplas pots. My favourites. I have hundreds. They're not cheap either. I think someone's been clearing someone else's garden. Maybe someone's died or moved house. A person who doesn't like touching "dirt" has done this, I expect.
That was a good find for a gardener. This man will put all that to good use.
Be careful using soil found with pots.. While buying flowers, some contain various chemicalls to keep plants small...that soil can affect the growth of Your plants...
Watch out for any "unusual" seeds germinating in the reused compost Tony 😉. More seriously, hats off for tidying up. Cheers, Andy.
Don't think they'd be big enough for budding plants..You're safe there. Probably 2nd stage clone pots.
Wouldn't be surprised if those "tomato plant pots" were growing a certain type of plant in a loft and so rather than sticking them in thier bin they've dumped them . Pleased you've put them to better use mate 👍
Oh dear, 585 face, that comment says more about you than anything else.. zzz
@@blackbob3358 seems that @livingstones585 hit a nerve. Are you sure it wasn't YOU that dumped the pots!
Hats off to you, wish more people would be like that.
I wonder how far the secret plant pot dumper had to walk when he probably had a bin or 2 outside his front door. Good on yer Tony 👍
Nice one Tony👍😁, Total Respect for clearing the country side of someone's mess👌
WOW!! Has anyone else from 🇨🇦 or the 🇺🇲 noticed how unbelievably clear and BLUE their sky is?!?! 😳
Sadly, we don't see skies like that anymore. So glad you still have them to enjoy!
There are some wasteful people out there, good for you taking them home & making good use out of them 👍 👏 👌
I subscribe to my Local Authority's 'Fix My Street' alerts, and if there's any flytipping alerts with pics of any stuff useful for gardening, I'll go and 'clear it up' myself.
Stuff like those pots would be useful not only for personal use, but for plants grown for charity plant sales, or giving to new gardeners, etc.
Crazy I agree Tony. Our garden centres have bins for people to put unwanted pots in. Such a good idea but not all centres do it. I love having a rummage in them to see if I can make use of anything haha
Isn't it just amazing what people throw away. Repurposing is the game. Blessings from Southern Oregon
SOMEONE MIGHT HAVE ROBBED IT FROM A NEARBY GARDEN THINKING IT WAS SOME GOODIES TO THEN FIND IT WAS USELESS TO THEM AND DUMPED IT .
My thoughts.
Well done for removing it and reusing it, probably not a gardener but someone who has brought a property or is clearing a property.
I'm in constant need little pots like that for seedlings. It's a shame someone just tossed them into a ditch.
Good on you well done
Fair play to you ..and it's nice to see you having a small reward for your good deed ...and you've got it documented on here if there's any questionable seeds that begin to sprout ..
Unbelievable that someone would think it's acceptable to just dump their ( rubbish ???? ) in such a beautiful area !!!!! Well done clearing it up 👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏
I live in a rural setting, and just before Christmas, I discovered about 6 black bags filled harvested cannabis plants and soil.
I just salvaged some large plastic plant pots out of someone's plastic recycling box while walking the dogs recently.
Good on ya for being a good friend of the Earth ! Cheers from California !
Thank you for showing everyone what a responsible person does. Life is far too short to stand around pointing fingers and bellyaching about this and that. A pointed finger never solved a single problem. I would however have taken the compost into a container and poured just enough boiling water to sterilize the soil and any weed seeds before adding to the compost bin. I saw someone do this a couple years ago with soil from yard sales as you do not know what is in it. We have a garden center that has bins for folks to drop-off the pots they have used and to pick up used pot for free all they have to do is clean them a bit. Several years ago I got enuf pot to last forever!!! I just rewash every year and save the money save the earth some plastic save the supply chain and so on. God bless y'all take care
Bless you for caring and cleaning up after others also teaching others how to recycle
I would say that wasn't a gardener who did that, no gardener worth his/her salt would do that. I reckon it's possibly someone who has just moved into an ex-gardeners house and cleared our their shed/greenhouse. Take care, Poo
Sounds about right! 👍
Well done (I’d have done the same). However, it’s not just a waste of useful things, it’s a case of spoiling the countryside and we all have a duty to protect it.
I'm in very rural Devon on the border with Cornwall. Dartmoor in the distance, fields of sheep and cows. We get a few workmen or visitors, who sit in the wider pass by in the lane, have their lunch, dump pop tin, sandwich wrapper, crisp packet. BUT the RECYCLING team are the worst! They tip out the tubs, what goes on the floor doesn't get picked up. I do a fortnightly walk of 'my' lane. Half carrier bag of stuff? Tins, yoghurt pots, plastic meat and vegetable trays. There will always be a bit of litter that cannot be helped, the stuff that's accidently escaped & blew away from the garden etc? But most of it is basically what the recyclers should have taken.
Good wishes!
Hopefully it was someone that was thinking you would be able to it, I really hope so😭.
I am happy that you are going to be able to use these items.
Need more people like you buddy 👍👍👍
What a good save! We have a tree nursery not far from our place they travel by with trees often on our country road. They had an issue with their trailer of empty tree pots in flats ran the trailer off in the ditch ...flat tire. Pots flew down ditch and in field. Waited a few days they never got picked up! Snagged them threw broken in recycled and ended up with 30 good tree seedling pots! Got a wonderful tree a Turkish Hazelnut, that just is a great tree I can start. One persons trash is another ones treasure! Way better than the garbage I usually end up picking out of our ditches!
Good on you for picking all those up. I would imagine that’s the rubbish from a small cannabis grow!
👨🌾 Steve 👨🌾
Big thank you for picking that up. I walk a lot and see some weird things just dumped. Like it takes more effort than using a correct bin or going to the tip.
Thank you for cleaning the environment. If we all did it how much nicer would the place be?
It never ceases to astound me what people will dump rather than take stuff to the tip. Where I live its not uncommon for people to drive past the tip to dump stuff in a layby...mad. Having said that..I was at the tip just yesterday and someone was throwing the most beautiful, expensive, teddy bears into the skip...why on earth would you not take them to a charity shop so that at least a charity could make a bit of money on them??
Score!
Years ago someone came down the alley in the middle of the night and dumped big garbage bags full of something down our alley. My neighbor came to get me about this. they were dumped all along the alley as they drove. I opened one up and they were full of rich potting soil with lots of pearlite, plus cut off plants and the roots remained. Obviously a harvest had happened and someone didn't know how to garden outside. After telling her this is great stuff for our flower beds we cleaned up the alley.
We didn't get any pots though.
I regularly take part in litter picks and beach cleans in North Wales. I occasionally find a discarded flower pot for use in the garden but never this motherload! A lucky find and Well done for cleaning up and helping draw attention to these selfish and dreadful litter louts. :)
Looks like the work of someone who's bought a house with existing greenhouse & is aspiring to the concrete/paved shabby patio instead and views themselves as above a trip to the recycling center, we get it a lot here.
Those little pots are from a set , Tony😁🌱☀️
Good man 🌸 I’m proud of you!! Your superhero deed of the day 🌸
Good for you pickin them up,👏 a can't bare owt like this.
Fair play to you that's so rewarding 👏
I feel your pain Tony. Fly tipping + wasting useful pots.
I was down my local recycling centre recently. They'd lined up dozens of beautiful ceramic pots. They were going into hardcore.
I asked if I could take some, but they refused.
Why don't they set aside an area where people can pick these up for a small donation to charity?
Such waste.
I just found your channel and have subscribed 🇿🇦👍. Blessings to you.
Terry from Terry Kings gardening on a budget regularly finds compost in fabric pots from the cannabis growers that they unscrupulously dump. Terry logs all his finds and puts them to good use...good to recycle ♻️
Those smaller pots ..ideal for cloning off the mother plant...You scored there mate😄
Reuse the low grade plastc because likely will just be chucked by recycler. Good save!
I pick up litter in my village several times a week, I have dealt with much worse than that!
Good job. I'm a new Sub. You sold me when I saw you doing a great deed. Barb in Oklahoma
I live in Durham and any B road with a lay-by has people fly tipping on them
That would never happen in Vietnam because we have a steady stream of OAPs collecting ali beer cans, plastics of all kinds, cardboard and old clothes. Sadly, they don't recycle glass for some reason. They sort everything in front of the Mrs., and pay on weight, load it onto their Honda's and toddle off. Job done.
The glass I smash and add it to the concrete mix.
We had a load of flowerpots, and they took them to a garden center.
In 1976 economics professor Carlo Cipolla derived his: 5 basic laws of human stupidity. I feel that his work is still applicable.
Well done but you've got a long way to go to catch up with Terry King (Terry King's Allotment Gardening On A Budget) when it comes to collecting dumped compost and pots. Most cannabis farmers are not known for their eco-friendly waste disposal methods.
Well done on tidying it up, plenty would have walked passed them and left it. But I've seen stuff dumped like that before from marjuana growing, cloth bags full of coir compost is the other stuff they usually dump, comes in useful for the proper gardeners though!
Makes me do angry tony when things get three instead of being disposed of properly litter especially
I have to Blean people's litter up at work literally tons each year
Like anyone else you sndvi were trying keep things clean for our future generation's to enjoy otherwise we're be knee deep in crap.
All the best tonyou and orsom for clearing them bsgs up and reuseing them pots
Well done for sure Tony. No excuse's here but probably not a gardener as we would see the use of this stuff so possibly someone clearing a house or garden for some reason. Then why would you? Surely same amount of effort to recycle properly?
Good on you Tony looking out for the environment. Hopefully you will have good success with your chillies 🌶🌶 for your good deed 👍
Thanks 👍
Weed growers. They dump bags of used compost around too. Terry King picks them up and uses them - free compost! He keeps a tally of how much he's collected - tonnes of the stuff!
Has to be a new gardener, because us experienced ones know we can reuse those pots !! Maybe someone just grabbed the bags, opened it and tossed because nothing in it of value ! ?? A gardener would not throw that out ! Nope. Great find though! 😁
Well done Tony, amazing find, pity you couldn't get them to deliver
Disgusting, someone walked all that way to dump plastic waste - in a beauty spot?! Lucky you found it...
Good man!!!
If it is a cannabis farm its a very small one. Most probably an amateur. I come across them regularly on my dog walks. They harvest the flower buds and get rid of the rest of the plant and all the equipment except the grow lights and fans etc. The plant leaf is low in THC in modern hybrids. Typically there will be plastic sheets taped together dumped. Last year I recovered a car full of compost which I grew pea shoots in. I also put a lot of leaf and stalk into my compost heaps.
A Good Man! ______ With a Big Heart!

Well done Tony, Great Shout mate, people don't understand the value of things anymore.
You've got some beautiful dogs!!
Deffo cannabis grower that soil will be full of nutrients keep an eye on that spot
not cannabis,, pots not big enough wrong compost too
Your are a good man
Someone has a grow on, found a load over the Mendips years ago………say no more!
Always amazes me why they carry things to somewhere out the way then dump things I live two miles from a tip that take anything and they dump still on the road discusting well done for clearing it up
Some council tips charge or are so fussy what you are allowed to dump or the worst you have to book a slot to go to the dump and I seriously can't blame people when it like this I was in a friends car recently and she had some old carpet from her dead mum's house the council said she would be charged to dump it plus she'd have to e mail the council to book a time only yesterday I got in her extremely clean car to see said carpet gone and the car smelling fresh as it's none of my business I didn't ask what happened to it
My thoughts exactly!
Well done, its a shame what people do. You have a beautiful coastline
I was afraid he might find a human head in that second bag.
"cheers!"
Not a cannabis grower. As an ex Council surveyor I came across a few illegal cannabis farms all were on hydroponics Mind you Terry King keeps finding bags of compost dumped by the road side
Pots are not recycled by councils. The problem is not addressed by councils and nobody wants plant pots. They have recycling at garden centres but the the fuel needed is more damaging than the bin.
Well done, Tony. It's such a shame people think it's ok to do that 😕
If it is off a grow..mix the soil in very well, gr ass root is mildly toxic.
Try living here in America. The ditch outside my subdivision looks like a hobo encampment. The whole town all along the roadways, the same. No matter where you go. It's just deplorable.
Defo cannabis grower. Round my way I look out for their dump as I cycle the local roads. Normally find loads of bin liners full of high quality compost just dumped. Of course, I have to go back in my car to tidy up. Saves loads of money not having to buy fresh compost. 😊😅
That is definitely from a cannbis grow 100 percent but nice one for cleaning it up I do alot of slingshot hunting and the amount of stuff that gets dumped on the farm land is unforgivable
i go fishing on the coast, not your side of our rock that we're on but Thanks man its sad that people dont get that we need to look after our country, i couldn't help thinking that it was maybe the beginning's of a failed weed farm... who knows,,, but its good you care
Mold got into the Pot grow-op....didn't want to give himself away by trying to dispose responsibly.....don't use any of it !
My advice is those pots are going to get scarce it was no Gardner that would do that and the bags look so fresh and all barley used there is even community horticulture courses that would love them pots so many uses
Fair play for you picking them up
God bless
Fabulous
a normal gardener wouldn't dump that amount of pots... looks to me, they have been used for growing the ol' tweed, and then dumped. you may want to watch your compost... could end up with some funky looking tomato plants, but... one man's trash, is another man's treasure....( i mean the pots, not the plants :)
Did you miss the green plastic bottle next to the bag?
This was a weed grower for sure. Naughty. Well done.
Before you use them you need to wash those pots and sanitize them, before you use you know tomatoes do not like himself, awesome fine yeah why she was hot soapy water. That was a very good find
An awful lot of judgment coming from people that call themselves gardeners too. Assuming and attacking without proof.
That drone footage looks a great spot for fishing.
Brilliant, Tony what a good little find and good deed from you. Lovely piece of coast line there to. Good man 👍
I used to go to the cemetery and clean up the pots and potting soil that they put down on there dump but last year I got yelled at for trespassing which I thought was so stupid they just push the pots and soil over the bank after burning it what a waste
Well done Tony on clearing up your gain some people just don't care
In all honesty who wants to live in an area that looks like a dump. I volunteer as a litter picker in my local area and it appears to be working. There is less and less litter to pick up, plus you meet and speak with people while you’re out and about. Tony your good deed is spot on, keep it up.
High high man...indoor Gardner I would say
I doubt it’s a true gardener. More like someone clearing a garden or shed after moving in or out. Save the pots Tony
I think that too.
You're a good man Charlie Brown.
Some folks would not have bothered to do what you did. They would have simply let them be to rot.
Top man for picking it up mate🙏
Thats from a cannabis farm by looks of it aswell tony🙄
pots not big enough wrong compost too
i grow it

Unfortunately some people are selfish scumbags, when caught they should be named and shamed,or have something taken away.
