The only dog that ever bit me was a collie. He lived opposite me and hated my dalmatian. One day, out for a walk on my own, without my dog, he ran up to me and bit my arm. His owner was deeply apologetic and we both agreed it was because he didn't like my dog that he went for me instead. Always been wary of them, since then.

We have missed your videos, just pottering around the allotment is great for your fitness and mental health. Big licks to the new big lad and Daisy from Colin the dog

I put strulch on a freshly cleared off neglected jungle of a bed around my brassicas. Didn’t do anything for slugs but must admit it was brilliant on weeds. Didn’t get much through it. Put down in July and still a thick layer
The dogs are so funny. Into everything

Your right Tony the soil is going get expensive . I have a old 35 litre tea urn that I bring to the boil and place a 15 litre stainless steel bucket with last years soil in it to bring up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit for three minutes.

Nice one. You would be better getting some free well rooted horse manure from a local stabel. I've several places that I bag it up and have taken over 80 bags over the last couple of months and its probably better than any bought stuff and again it's free. The Sylva compost I used last year and will not be going back to it - the stuff I bought seemed to be a lack of nutrients, sorry for negativity but it's better to be honest

Good to see you e got your gardening mojo back; Tony😊 Just wondering what you'll do for light whenyour chilli peppers germinate? will they go in the greenhouse? If so will you beable tokeep it warm enough? Would bubble wrap help?

Melcourt no doubt is good compost but I had a look into the cost of the stuff and fortunately the closest place that has it is 40 minutes away as I might've bought a back to look at it in person. That being said I personally couldn't justify the price of it for the 'small' amount that you get. Plenty of good compost brands out there. I'm lucky or unlucky depending on what people can get for how much. I was/am getting mine from a local garden centre for £5.50 for 60L. However I recently joined an allotment shop (Don't have an allotment, garden grow) and they're selling bags of Clover for £7.50 75L. Prices might change with new pallets delivery. Clover is the best stuff I've bought to date but has a decent amount of peat, which I like. The cost mentioned that I usually get is peat free because unfortunately the guy I was getting it from, the garden centre, he stopped buying it. Apparently it was to do with them banning it by the end of 2024, but as far as I know you can still sell left over stock. I don't personally get it but that is what it is. If they do ban sale of it, I'm just going to buy it from Ireland over Ebay. I've been told, I don't know if it is true as I've not bothered to look it up as there isn't much point right now. Supposedly import duty and customs isn't charged so as long as the person doesn't declare what the product is you'll probably find it'll make its way through. I know when I order fragrance from a brand in Canada they really under price how much it costs so that duty and custom fees aren't applied. I asked emailed them about it before I bought my first one and being honest I can't quite remember the answer but it was something to do with Canadian law, so it wasn't technically illegal and they were within the law. Might work with Irish peat, might not, who knows, we'll see.

Not liking Collies😳 Collies are famously fond of children and make wonderful family pets. These swift, athletic dogs thrive on companionship and regular exercise. With gentle training, they learn happily and rapidly. The Collie's loyalty, intelligence, and sterling character are the stuff of legend.
However like any dog it depends on its owners training of it.🤔
