    Birds go for my Blueberries and Blackberries like crazy. We have to net both.

      Thanks for sharing your experience! Netting is a lifesaver when it comes to keeping the birds away from our beloved berries!

    Yes: paksoi is a great idea. And some puntarelle again. I've eaten the first one last week à la Romana: delicious. Originally it's from Italy but it does grows well in cooler climate.

    Hello Barry & Mrs W
    I was wondering what you will be growing in your greenhouse (not polytunnel) this winter & when will you be sowing the seeds?
    I really enjoy your videos & look forward to them every week.

    How’s the wormery in mine the worms are very slow maybe they are too cold too. I’ve had juices in the bottom tray but not seen any worms in the top tray I’m thinking are the holes I drilled 5 m big enough for them to squeeze through?

    Your video came up on my recommendations today and it's exactly what I needed. I've only got a small balcony but I manage to grow runner beans, potatoes and tomatoes among the flowers each year. I was thinking of trying carrots, lettuce and spring onions next year but I can give it a go now having seen your great advice. The beans have done abysmally for the last three years so I'll grub those up to make some room. We've had more pollinators this year. Not many, but several pretty hoverflies have been around a fair bit and I saw a bee yesterday, lol. Cheers from Devon. :)

    Funny you mentioned the blueberries. Mine have been taken by the birds this year. First time in many years growing them. Also noticed a lack of pollinators this year

      It's unfortunate to hear about your blueberries and the lack of pollinators. Nature can be unpredictable sometimes. Sounds like we are all in the same boat!

      I’m a novice gardener. Put up a Poly Crub this year. Very excited. Planted Chinese cabbage and they’ve just gone to seed without forming a cabbage head. Could the heat of the greenhouse be the problem? Can I use the leaves?

    Great tp see your Asparagus bed. You will enjoy that harvest when it comes. We are starting ours next spring but with crowns. We have an asparagus farm nearby so not too urgent.
    I'm sowing all the above mentioned seeds. Great List! What was that Pak Choi variety? I couldn't quite hear.
    I'm looking at winter spinach but I think it's a bit early to avoid bolting.What do you think?

    • @nodignorfolkgardener4575
      @nodignorfolkgardener4575  Месяц назад +3

      Thank you for your kind words Ken! The Pak Choi variety is Youshu - it's a great choice which I found on Mole seeds. For winter spinach, you might want to wait a bit to avoid bolting, Beginning of September is when we sow ours. It will feature in the sow with us at the beginning of September! Very handy to have an asparagus farm nearby and when you do plant your crowns you won't have to wait as long as us!
