    Funfact, Bucephalos is supposed to be pronounced BuKefalos, not BuSefalos, as the word is Greek, not Latin, where the softening of C does not happen (neither did it in Classical Latin, but that is another question 🙃)

    • @HighKhan40k

      Thanks for the tip! I'll Keep It in mind for future vids ;)

    • @maxstr
      @maxstr 10 месяцев назад

      The hard c vs soft c is so inconsistent in 40K. Just a couple example, "C'tan" is hard C, "Cicatrix" is soft C followed by hard C. If they were consistant, it could be pronounced like Cicero, so "sisatrix", but I guess that sounds too silly 😅

    • @Angelimir
      @Angelimir 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@maxstr The "SiKatrix" pronunciation is actually consistent with the Ecclesiastic Latin (in essence: medieval Latin) pronunciation, where the C, before E or I softened to "s" or "ch" or "ts" (depending on the region, but in Western Europe, and as such, most of the Anglophone world the "S" is the most common), and this is how it survived into modern Italian, too. This is how most people today would understand Latin (High Gothic, I mean :)), as _Latin_.
      However Classical Latin ("real" Latin-Latin, if you will :)) did not have this phenomenon and they have pronounced it as "KiKatrix", which sounds just as odd as "KiKero" does for "Cicero", but here we are... 🙃

    • @maxstr
      @maxstr 10 месяцев назад

      @@Angelimir thanks for your response. So is the C and S interchangeable? For example why is Ceasar not spelled Ceacer or Seacer.(ugh that looks awful), or Cicero spelled Cisero or Sicero? They are both from the same time period after all. Also, words with the S and a hard C also existed, like Secundus but that's never spelled Cecundus right ?

    • @Angelimir
      @Angelimir 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@maxstr not quite.
      The C switches to S in pronunciation only if it is followed by a "high pitch" vowel, ie I or E. But, as I mentioned, this phenomenon occurred only during the Middle Ages, when the speakers of Latin were not the Romans, but all sort European people.
      In the first century BC, the Romans did not have this, and basically invariably pronounced these names as "Kikero" and "Kaesar".

    It strongly implies the Void Dragon was too powerful for the Big E to vanquish outright, so he instead imprisoned it in the Noctis Labryrinth on Mars. My question is how on earth did the Big E manage to take the Dragon to Mars during the Dark Ages?

    Out of curiosity, where does it say the emperor was Alexander the Great?

    • @Jamhael1

      The Emperor assumed multiple figures throughout history, and while it is not cited which, and combined with the severe loss of historical data, the Emperor could had been ANY famous figure.

    I know I am no fun at parties... but absolutely everything has its own gravity field. Electrons have their own gravity. Sure it is weak af but they do have it. Saying something has a magnetic field is meaningless .. you need to give some kind of scale for comparison. Also.. if they have gravity technology for inside the ship they also have anti-gravity technology and getting on and off a planet would theoretically be no issue at all... Thank you coming to my TED talk
    Also....how many times can you say INDEED in one video?

      Hmm I'm no scientist xd but I Guess they meant It was so Big as to attract other ships around It with its gravety, kind of like how a Planet does, allowing other ships to orbit around It? Not sure if this makes sense either from a scientific perspective, but I'm guessing that's what the Lore is going for.
      Yeah, I need to use more synonyms I Guess haha sorry about that, although being bilingual I've spent most of my life in Spain and mostly Talk in Spanish so sometiemes my English gets a bit rusty like that, but I'll try to use a richer vocab in the future, thanks for the feedback ;)

      @@HighKhan40k Sure.. but that is the point Everything attracts everything else. I am attracting you right now. An electron is attracting the sun.. its is a miniscule immeasurable about..but it happens. Everything has SOME gravity. And that is just a function of how heavy it is. Saying something has a strong magnetic pull just means its really really heavy :)

      I choose to believe that ‘generates its own gravitational field’ is layman speak for ‘really really really fucking big’
