I bought this album from HMV in Edinburgh when it was released and put it in my Walkman. I listened to it as I was walking back home to my place in the west of the city. The Don't Drink The Water segment started as I was approaching Charlotte Square and I pretty much buckled up while crossing the road and could barely move. Fantastic stuff, but not for the bus that ended up honking at me in the middle of the road. Brilliant stuff, Billy. Thank you for being who you are and for sharing these fantastic stories!
Imagine giving the gift of laughter to so many people for more than half a century. Billy always brings a smile to my face. We’ll miss the silly bugger when he’s gone. We’ll never see his like again.
What is wrong with people. Billy has Parkinsons and you want him to live forever. I've already seen some nutjob say the same thing. There are some heartless bastards about.
I was given the pick of Billy Connolly on vinyl for Christmas many moons ago when I was about 13 and I've loved him ever since, lucky to have seen him 3 times in Dublin
I absolutely love Billy Connolly,so very very funny, imagine having him as a dinner party guest!😅 There’s one show where he has a celebrity audience; I think late 80’s , it’s tummy achingly funny!😍🤣💕🏁
I am lucky enough to get to know Billy and I am so grateful everttime I meet with him.Billy loves his privacy in the USA because in Great Britain everyone knows and loves him unlike here where not everyone knows him.
@@zackjoneskeywest7542 You're lucky to know Billy and live in Key West. I've not been there myself, but my brother has and he says when I get to a certain age to move there. He didn't say what that age was, but he said I would know when I reach that age. Billy loves his privacy in the USA as you mentioned. Which is why he lived in New York before moving to Key West. All the best.
I once walked into a casino and in a small alcove they had a guy standing dressed as Elvis doing Elvis songs....ON A BANJO!!!! I thought my "experiences" in the 70's had come back on me, I nearly called for the medics.
@@SuzyQ334 Billy has said he watched Neighbours when he was in Australia, and he said the people in it couldn't act even with a gun to their head. But at least they smiled and laughed and it was sunny. He said Eastenders was so dour and miserable filled with junkies, Aids and violence it was unwatchable. Though it did make him pine for the rain he knew as a child.
I've always thought the one thing about Billy that I just won't get and never could is his idea of style or fashion...I mean, the zebra patterned onesie, the black T-shirt with the big tail flap? The crimson velvet shirt...the velvet lilac shirt...oh dear and none of these were for comedy value, i am sure he just liked them and in his mind he looked good.! I dearly love the guy though and almost well up just thinking of his age and health situation these days, poor fella.
Don't forget Billy was a war baby. But he became a man in the 60s and dressed accordingly, especially when the 70s arrived and he grew his hair long and wore flamboyant clothes. He developed a taste for outrageous clothes, different clothes, a taste that never left him. Which is why he wears the clothes he does onstage. He wore clothes he liked, he didn't care what other people thought. It is sad about his health these days. But I've seen many of his live gigs over the years including the High Horse tour, so I do have those memories to treasure. And the DVDs of course.
I lived in Queenstown NZ in the 1970's and knew a very strange American guy. Winters in Queenstown can be particularly cold and this guy never wore long pants. However when it was particularly cold he would wear long johns under his shorts thinking it was completely normal to do so....!!!

I grew up with a VHS copy of this in my house, hasn’t got any less funny watching clips back
Also, I once seen a man in Sydney wearing 2 different shades of orange shirt and ties

Brilliant
And that must be where the highland fling came from Billy wearing that tweed and having a glow in the dark willy!
What's that got to do with the Highland fling
Who ever you are channel master thank you 🙏
This is Billy's official RUclips channel. Billy has given the rights to have all of these clips uploaded on here.
Aye but it’s most likely not billy uploading the videos eh 🤦♂️
@@chrisd3211 It's not Billy uploading the videos, it's a fan club I think.
Brilliant.
I love this man ✌💙 from Montana
Still one of billys best shows he ever did. I bought this when i was in my late teens in the early 90s and its funny as fk😂😂
Laughing and crying at the same time 🤣😂🤣
I think I might bust a gut🤣🤣🤣
No words, Just 😂

Ah the Big Yin! So much laughter...
He's so right about home and away and neighbours total crap 😂
Yeah, true. But Neighbours and Home and Away are/were no more crappy than Coronation Street & Eastenders became from the late 1990s onwards.
Imagine how lame your life would have to be to find those shows interesting, or worse, exciting. Pablum for the masses.
It was the 80s, it was all we had 😂
@@stephaniemcintosh2808 but but we had the best music ever!!!?

Unbelievable. Billy has Parkinsons, do you really want him to live forever.

It’s not on this clip but his classic line about BB
“There’s people living in a house, watching people living in a house”
👌🏻😂
That reminds me of Gogglebox. A "reality" tv show where you watch people watching tv. Pointless or what.

That's not unusual, I've seen joggers out on a winter's day wearing shorts and longjohns,
It was in the 1970's....🤔
