- In this video we will take a look at the BK90 Standoff Munition Dispenser and use it against a couple of ground targets at an airfield. It is recommended that you watch the Basic Navigation System video first, as this video relies on it.

Dude!! I have just spent a week trolling through the manual trying to figure all this out, now I arrive at your videos & see that I could have save days! Excellent instructional videos, thanks so much for your time!
Man, I want to see you get credit on the forums, you are by far the best source of tutorials for that Viggen! Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Will do so! :)
I agree!
Its easy to forget how much time and effort go into making a video. Your work is much appreaciated! Thanks.
Thank you as well! For the Viggen videos it is about 10x-15x the lenght of the video, including all reading, testing, recording and editing.
Your mig-21 videos from all those months ago really helped me out and once again you're making some really useful vids. Thanks! :)
Awesome videos.
I've noticed the distance bar not always working in other weapon release modes as well. Didn't know if I was doing something wrong or if it is a bug.
the range indicator comes up when u set the radar to SEA/LAND
Great, the tutorials that comes with the aircraft sucks.
4:20 My notes say that "923000" is the "compact" dispense mode. Are my notes wrong? You have written that "920xxx" is the "compact" mode.
John...... Thank you! I just watched your M2000 video on in flight refueling and only just realised that you upload your practice missions for us to fly. Great job, keep up the fantastic work and TY again
Very nice video
wow this was so good, learned so much from this! Thanks! :D Keep making these cool videos!
Best viggen Tutorials, thank you very much!
Great job John! ty very much for the tutorial! keep it that way! :)
Why my bk90 dont do cluster they just directly hit target ?
Awesome John. I really like your videos.
Yes, you are nailing it every time! Go John!
10 takes! Really appreciate your perseverance.
Good video john a question like I do to get the game
Great Video. Thanks.
xxJohnxx, in the Manual, it say 921000 = Long Area | 922000 = Wide area | 923000 = Compact Area. Which one of them are correct? Yours or the manual? :) Other than that, great guides.
Actually, both are correct. 923000 is the desingated code for the Compact Area. 920000 sets the parameter to default, which is also the compact area. This can be found just below the three codes mentioned in the manual. :)
I cannot FOR THE LIFE OF ME Figure out how to create my own waypoints in DCS: world... I can't do it from a map (which sounds like the unrealistic / easy way to get it done), I can't do it using the Viggens flight computer using Lat/Long coordinates, I can't "make my own" by attempting a Radar Fix on a location ahead of me with enemies. So, if I want to spontaneously attack an unforseen target that would otherwise be "easy pickens", I cannot.
Because, in order to use the BK-90, I **have to** have a Waypoint ON the target.
How does one use these things in Multiplayer?
How does one change the waypoints when there is no pre-loaded mission?
If I'm playing online, how would I even get this computer to know **which airport I'm at** so I can accurately assign waypoints to known target locations on the map? Do other planes suffer from this glaring flaw in DCS? It's pretty upsetting to pay 60 dollars for a partially functioning product... I can't even use the weapon systems to their full extent because they're all entirely reliant upon a navigation system which is inoperable unless it is used offline and within the structured "campaigns" created by the developers.
What's up with that?
The product is functioning correctly, you just need to know how to use it. Press F10 to get a map and click on your aircraft, you will have the exact coordinates at the top left including your current airport, its coordinate and lots of other info (tacan, vor/ils, radio channels etc). The navigation system works very well if you learn how to set it up for every aircraft. the Viggen has one of the simplest way to input waypoints on the fly.
Thank you! very good video :)
Yet another great video, thx.
Is there a list somewhere of all the viggen computer codes like the 91xxx you are using? I have a hard time finding the codes in the documentation...
Unfortunatly not yet. At least not any that include all of the codes. I guess we will have to wait a bit longer until someone comes up with something.
Is it possible to use these things on spontaneous / targets of opportunity? It'd be nice if you could create your own "waypoints" by simply using the radar to select a point over the earth ahead of you and sending a BK-90 over to it.
Why is this not possible?
I believe he or Bunyap Sims have a video on entering waypoints using the map and the coordinates to enter everything manually.
Really appreciating these frequent and quick uploads.
You also have a pretty cool accent haha.
Thanks! Can't help it with the accent though. I'd prefere if I had none :P
Good job dude from France !
We must have a waypoint on the target to attack him ?
Thank you!
Yes, for the BK 90 the active waypoint must be over the target.
I loaded Mj1 and Mj2, followed the steps you mentioned, double check it on the manual to make sure, however, I only get to fire 1 MJ. serie and Valb has been selected so it was sure to be dropping one after the other so long as the trigger is held for 2 secs. Is this a bug for some reason? conflict of weapon loadout maybe? Loadout as follows: Rb24 - AKAN Gunpod - MJ2 - Drop Tank - MJ2 - KB F/C dispenser - Rb24. It seems like you can't fire the MJ that is on the side of the wing that has the AKAN gunpod. Thanks!
Not entierly sure, but maybe try only one type of MJ per plane. Don't mix MJ-1 and MJ-2.
tried 2 MJ2's and I did not load anything on the pods, just 2 rb24 and still only one dropped. it is the right pod that does not release.
Awesome!!
thanks!!!
Great videos John. Thanks.
I have question, what is trigger for release weapon? It do it computer automaticly?
It suffice keep speed/ height and direction which is show hud?
The normal "Weapon Release" Trigger is used for the all the weapons. There is no automatic release by the computer.
Keep 400m above ground, 0.9M and follow the steering coomands from the HUD. Should work flawlessly.
Thanks, so I must first study symbolism on hud, because I'm not sure which is moment for release :)
I'm not totally sure, but I think you can press the "Rensa" (Clean) button under the "CDU" instead of IN/UT to reset the input. But it might be easier your way tho :)
The "Rensa" button, depending on how often you press it and on what mode you are in will actually either reset waypoints or even delete them. Better not do that during flight. That's why it has a cover on it.
Clearing the display is actually done by doing the IN/UT toggle as demonstrated ;)
xxJohnxx ohhh 😂 haha, well good I didn't try it :P The more you know, thanks
Hi John, Will the BK90 glide itself to target or I have to aim directly at target ? Because sometimes waypoint on Mission Editor and Nav radar are not the same (drifted ?)
It will go towards the waypoint you have selected in the aircraft. If there is a lot of drift the missile will fly towards the drifted point.
You will have to correct for drift before firing the missile, for example by using the radar like in the video.
@@xxJohnxx77 Can I change waypoint while they're still gliding?
@@fatherofdragons5477 No, once they are off the aircraft you have no more control over the weapon. It will glide to it's pre-launch target automatically and you can no longer adjust the desired target.
what terrain texture are you using ?
Barthek's GTM 7.0
your gauges are not round in cockpit; i awitched to 16:10 mode in DCS settings and get round gauges but some planes are now to long like the Spitfire....DCS sucks more and more.
That is because I am running a non standard aspect ratio. On my end they are perfectly round...
