Cheers!
I had only recently heard of these and while looking them up I was pretty confused on all of the different models. Thanks to a Google search your video cleared that right up! You couldn't have done a better job. Thanks for your time in putting this together.
Love your Ergon videos, I just bought the GP 5 on amazon, I can't wait, mostly my numbness and tingles can't wait. Thank you!!
Very well done presentation. Trying to decide between gp3 and gp4. This nailed the decision for me.
Thank you for such a clear and concise demonstration of the grip positions! So very useful. Buying from your links.

Thank you!!!! Great Video.
Glad you liked it!
thank you, looking for the gp 5
Simply you life savers.
Very helpful video.
Thanks, Iain! pedal on!
we need a similar in-depth comparison of GP5 Large vs Small
This is a really helpful video, thank you! I've been getting thumb pain from my straight bars with basic grips to the extent that it's been limiting the distance i can ride, so definitely going to get one of these!
Would you perhaps be able to compare the length of the horns between the GP3 and the GP4 in cm? I'm wondering if for someone with thin+small hands like me, the GP3 would be enough to fit all 4 fingers (and being a grad student, every extra penny counts XD)
Amazing review. Thanks. Im thinking of getting the gp3 or gp4. But gp5 seems like a steal. Any suggestion? I have a 27.5 sized mtb and I rarely go on long rides.
Love these grips ... wish Ergon had the kits to change the ends ... other bike vendors have them as buying individual ends for these... one would think they would just have a set SKU and make it easy for people to buy multiple grips vs having to buy a left then buy a right
nice product overview, i was thinking of the gp5 but they appear too large. the 4 will do just fine. ty
Awesome vid! I have a twist shift bike so I can choose between either a GP1 or a GA3, I have seen some reviews that say the plastic on the GP1 is too hard, but the GA3 seems to be a nice soft rubber all over. I get shooting pain up my wrist if a drop from a kerb whilst holding my current grips too tight so I'm looking to get new grips. Which would you recommend out of the GP1 or GA3?
Nice video, thx. Is it also available for SRM Gripshift ?
Thanks!
I will buy the GP5 but from Amazon México because in your link appears like non available; thanks for the review; just a question, with the GP5 plus a left rear mirror I guess that I´m going to miss the view of the mirror in the middle position, am I right?
Thank you
This dude rules!
Thank you! You flatter me.
Thank you!!! 👍
You bet! Glad you liked it.
Good thanks
Thanks for the very informative video. Ergon sort of went wild with this range. I think the only two of this range that should exist are the GP1 and GP5. Either you want the second position or you don't, the in-between grips just seem to be half-assing the secondary grip position without offering any real advantages.
Thank God, a 12 minute video.
I can't decide. I have already ergonomic grips that came with my Trek, but the bar ends is something I like. But I wonder how it compares with inner bar ends from SQLab.
Check out the Brooks versions - very nice!
Very clear comparision. Thanks! I thinkink about GP4. But.. they seems a bit pricey. Interesting, how long they last?
I’ve been using them for about a year and they’re holding up great. Apart from the scuffs they picked up on the side, I have no problems with them.
Hey there. Are the horns interchangeable between models and sizes? i.e. if I have a GP2-S could I swap the horns with a GP3-L?
Would the gp5 grips work with a bar mounted mirror or would they interfere with each other?
Great video, very informative, my only question is, I bought the gp3 large brilliant, now I've just gone to order the ergon gp5 for my emtb and I'm seeing different variants of the gp5 can anyone confirm this?
Hi, the bar ends twist around. Do you know how to fix this? The grip itself I fixed with electrical tape on the handlebar. Thanks!
I am into deciding whether what model of GP's I am going to purchase. This answers my doubt as I am still new to biking. I think I will go for GP2 for now so as not to deform much my MTB look in the trail and maybe getting another GP5 bar end only (if this works?), if I will be on the road or gravel biking. this is a good comparison video, thanks!
Hi Glenn, thanks for the feedback. I'm sure you will love the GP2 as well. If you go from the stock grip to the GP2, it's a big leap forward in comfort. Happy pedaling!
@@BikeCommuterHero yes, I am currently using the stock grip for now and I had some issue with my hand numbness, and this been years for me. Initially, I am thinking of getting GA3 but thinking twice about the GP series instead, I think this design will help my numbness and at the same time, i can change my grip position once in a while. and most importantly, my concern is, I am afraid if my hand issues bump and will lose grip while on the rough trail, at least something will prevent/stop off my hand out on the grip at the grip end part :) idk if my perceptions work but I will get this grip using your link. Upgrades mode while all trails in my area here in NC are closed due to weather conditions! :( Thanks once again.
I really like my GS-2 s but I would agree material is questionable I have rubber splitting from bar end on one side but I also have ridden 3000km with those :p
HI,, can you use the GP 4/5 with the Brompton high bar, if you know, thanks...
Thank you for such an informative video. I have a handlebar with a backsweep angle of 28 degrees. Does it still make sense the GP5 with this kind of angle in your opinion?
Not sure if that would work. The palm rest works best if it receives your full weight as you lean forward.
gracias amigo
Thank you for your detailed information! However, I still doubt that if I should buy GP3/4/5 for my 14 inches foldable small bike. I believe that GP5 is the mostcomfort one but it will change the look of my small bike a lot...
Hello, I think you're right about that. I saw the GP2 on several folding bikes and I think if you want that extra hand position, it'll work just great. Alternatively, if all you need is a comfier grip than the stock one, you can get the GP1.
Helpful video .
What bar end mirror do you use ?
Thank you Adrian! My mirror is from Decathlon.
What about the Ga3 compared to all of these grips here ?
Hello, for carbon handlebars is ok or just for alloy?? thanks in advance.
i'm considering buying this grip but i'm not sure about sizing, is the difference between the small and large the length of the grip or the girth? and would you say kids use small and adults use large? or any adult male should be using large and adult female and kids pick small?
what brand mirror were you showing in this video???????
Just bought the Gp1 biokork large and hoping I still have room for my separate bar ends to lock down at the end like I have now with my standard Ergon grips. After going on several 50+ mile rides my hands started getting partially numbed out and weak for a bothersome length of time. Hoping these grips help out somewhat. My existing bar ends are an absolute must for harder climbs, though- we'll see.
Update: These hand grips will co exist with stand alone bar ends, but you will have to carve out a small plastic ring where these grips are meant to be flush with the handlebar ends. Once you carve off that lip with a small knife, then they will slide through to allow you to put on your Onza bar ends. It's not difficult, but you obviously want to take it slow.
Thank you for this update Crisicola. I was wondering whether the hand grips would allow for this. Buying them and then realizing it cannot be done is a waste. Now I know it can be done. Great!
@@willemschuitemaker9707 You're welcome. You just get a knife and turn it inside the bar end until that small ridge is peeled/removed. Its not hard, but do it slow. After that they work great with the bar ends like you want. Personally, I can't ride without bar ends, but now you get the cork to rest your hands on, too. Take care.
hello, how long is horn gp4 and gp5 in centimeters?
Thanks for the video! Could you detach the horn on the GP5 for shorter rides?
Hi Joseph, if you detach the stems the grip comes loose since the bolt for securing the grip in place is on the horn.
@@BikeCommuterHero Thanks!
