Just spent a few hundred Aussie dollars on upgrades to my new SR4 Demon and PG4RS kits before i build them.... and i got the New gearbox a OUP i think which im told is a better system...cheers for the Vids Shawn!! Now with ol Johnny Burdon vids ive got me some Crossrc wikapedia to help with these Quality, small scale replica, Hobby Grade Vehicles......(NERD) from Downunder
I recently had an issue with the trans in my sr4a demon, the pin that holds the gear that rides on the pinion slid out of place and stripped out. I had my gear set as the manual said but it was an unseen issue, I do really like my cross rc demon, it is a great truck. I had to replace the trans but it was only 15 bucks so I bought 2 just to have a spare. I wish i could post a pic of my set up, I am also running it brushless with a 3 to 1 gear reduction and it has some crazy power and torque.
Hi, I have the same issue with my 2 week old FR4. Due to the corona lockdown in South Africa I have only been playing in the back yard and stripped a gear. Overall I really like the truck, but this reduction gearbox seems like a weak link. Struggling to find replacement parts😩
Sorry for late reply. With regard to the transmission there's something coming soon that your going to like. As for replacement parts right now, we are all struggling to get parts. Hopefully in the near future things will change for the better.

That's hard to say. Are the drive shafts fazed? Have you changed the suspension geometry (i.e. longer shocks) to where the u joint angles are too great? I would also check to make sure the axle housings are free spinning and the issue isn't in the differential.

Great video but it eats away a gear that is too far away from the pinion i had 2 transmissions ruined after 2 or 3 runs and everytime it is the gear furthest away from the pinion that is stripped. The gears should be beefier and the 2 halfs schould be connected a bit more firmly because some of those halfs are really loose from the package and i think that that is the problem that the gears have too much room to move.
In this case it's not. The stock pinion uses helical cut teeth to mesh with the planetary gears in the transmission.It is proprietary to the Demon only.

Bought mine 3 days ago and the trans just went out just normal use I’ll definitely call into cross rc to see what they can do for me

Mines slightly clicking because my stubby too powerful, but i gave up on the transmission. Getting a rc4wd trans in it once it actually blows out

New transmission is on its way. Expect an update/install video soon. You'll be impressed, I was.

droped a holmes hobby didnt check shit i am a demon fan man their problem is cvd give me a solution for that seems cross rc is ignoring it
Cross has had their own as well as MIP cvd kits available as stronger options for quite a while. Both are available on crossrcus.com
