Nice job on the video, I had my score at 8.8 so I think that works out the same. I agree with the cost to performance ratio, it's hard not to take price into account when a tire scores lower but costs more than arguably some of the best tires out there. Also, I just saw there was a vote on our suggestion (@YourBoyBlue2) and now Canyon Custom Inserts® are the new baseline for all tire testing...... Very cool! 🤓
with the more Official tire test protocol being defined, you should revisit some of the tires you have tested in the past and run them through the same tests. like s1 canyons or tusks for example
Truly a great looking tire. But $35? Not! One of these videos I'd like to see your Toyota leaf sprung. I haven't seen it in a while and really liked that build.
I have no idea where they could possibly have come up with $35 a pair. That is a super-premium price. So Cross is to ProLine as ProLine is to JConcepts, but the performance just isn't there. They're good, and if they were $24 a pair I'd classify them as highly recommended. That 4.55" is a fantastic size, though.
@@CrawlerCanyon you can save a few $$ and order them without foams ($30 pair), but I agree they're a little rich for what they're capable of doing. That said, they're still a "good" tire and the size is highly desirable and there aren't a lot of options in that size, AND they're much cheaper in non-US hobby shops...Cross stuff always seems a bit overpriced here in the States.
Komp compound has shown consistently poor performance for me. Matter of fact, the XOR is the first Pitbull tire not to fall in a range between "terrible" and "positively mediocre."
Im have trouble picking a tire currently. For starters im huge on the look of a tire, cosmetics will always be what I look at first with that being said im currently torn between Proline Krawlers G8 or Fusks. I love the look of both and can’t decide 😅 I already have both and squid inserts for them.
Not soon, that's for sure. The only UTB18 build that interests me is the STH V1 Bugger, and I've done the math. About the same cost as building up another Vanquish. Actually a bit more.
@@CrawlerCanyon true. but you already have 2 vanquish rigs in your collection. I think you can do it cheaper if you made the chassis yourself. plus it would be good for the channel.
Sadly, yes. Cross not known for selling stuff cheap. Something like the XX10 will put the pricing scheme into perspective: www.crossrc.us/shop/xx10-t-rex/
Thanks for another awesome day at the canyon ❤❤

I would also suggest the tires done in the video of Existential Crisis - Nonsense from a month ago. I still can't get over those tires doing that.

Man some companies are very proud of their stuff but it gives some people another option I guess, fun as always thanks.

You got a harumph out of me. 3.6" is my happy place. 😁
looks like I'm still having a bit of PTSD since Ratchet's time when you're saying " I have a number" 🤣🤣🤣
"I'm not a number, I'm not a number, Dammit I'm a Man!" ~Bob Seger is what I hear
The Rock Beast (non XL) are the same size, costs 30$ but comes with dual stage foam. i love them for the size alone.
