I have a set of these I run, and I have been quite happy with them. Mine were from Injora, but it's the same tire. Like you said, they work surprisingly well. I have a set of Injora dual stage in them. I also have a set of the Proline XL ones with some 3D inserts I designed and printed myself, and they are quite a bit better, and not only because of the size difference. The price difference is massive though, and I'll keep running the clones on my more trail oriented SCX10.2. :)
Not a P-line fan boi. I have had several styles and compounds. I must admit the g8 4.39 swampers on dual stage are amazing after healthy break in phase. I put them firmly in rupture territory in terms of forward drive and side lug. Excellent tire.
I’ve built a crazy SE lol. Ecto trans…danchee front shock dessert liz on the back…extended brass wheel hex proline 1.9 triple stage foams…1080 g2 stock motor..hot rc single hand radio it’s a beast.
But... why would you voluntarily take out the XF in favor of the older Stealth X? The XF in the SE is superior in almost every way. Especially after you put the X gears in it. Then it's superior in every way.
@@CrawlerCanyon well wasn’t my first choice…don’t know if my slipper clutch wasn’t adjusted correctly from the factory but mine started giving me trouble and I had an ecto in the parts bin…my curiosity got the better of me and me being inpatient waiting on new gears I just swapped it. I used the extra overdrive gears too. It’s a lot more quiet although the xf is better I’m having some great results so far.
@@aaronbryant9908 it's all the same gears inside-- you can just put the X gears inside the XF, I did a whole video on it: ruclips.net/video/HhPHujLoL1c/видео.html But yes, from the factory the SE slipper is too loose, and the pads are REALLY small, so it doesn't take much for it to go completely loose. I must strongly recommend that you consider putting the X guts into the XF and trying it out. If Element would just do the right thing and make the XF available as a kit, I have 2 or 3 rigs that would already have been converted. Building a la carte is (currently) just price prohibitive.
@@CrawlerCanyon could possibly do that in the future. Wish I could show you Frankenstein though I think you’d like what I’m going with. Thanks for the advice
You've done a lot with anti-squat on your recent build, but haven't played with anti-dive yet. High anti-dive = pulling front end down, squatting the front end into the ground with traction, and lifts the front end on decents. Might be something to try out, to really get the full effect 🤔
Ghost Rover has a pretty huge link separation in the front-- definitely more than most. That rig would be as close to neutral anti-dive as anything here. Positive anti-dive requires either link wizardy or MOA, because the driveshaft ain't gonna like it. As it is, the front driveshaft on GR compresses like 13mm during suspension sweep, I think with the chassis end of the links higher, the driveshaft would just fall apart from the axle swing angle.
These definitely punched above their weight. But due to the craggy nature of the Canyon, I think I would only consider this ~110mm size for something with portals.
I've yet to find a knockoff as bad as the Hustlers. Even the Mix Racing, which were poorly done clones of the Hustlers, were ever so slightly better than the Hustlers themselves. And they came free with a set of beadlocks, so by that measure they were significantly better.
There was a series of customer service incidents many, MANY years ago that, combined with their overall shoddy product quality and hilariously inflated pricetags have led to me not purchasing a single item from Pro-Line in over a decade. A PL Comp Wagon cab is $44, while a Creep(er) is $25. Don't get me started on the tires.
@@CrawlerCanyon fair enough. I actually had a pretty good experience with proline recently. Got a set of 2.2 Baja pro x tires for my wraith. Decided to run them on my rock Rey, that lasted about 5 minutes. Exploded one of them. Sent proline an email with a picture, my original receipt (just bought the tires that week) and what I ran them on. About 2 weeks later, I had a brand new pair in my mailbox, no charge. But yeah, they are very pricey.
@@barceloni1984 The final straw was 4+ weeks to get replacement a-arms that had been improperly molded, so they broke-- the insides of the arms were riddled with air voids. @@CrawlerCanyon damn, that's pretty shitty. I'm more of a jconcepts fan myself. And these tires in your review, not bad for $20. I have a set I use as placeholders for any new truck til I get a set of good wheels and tires. They're definitely better than most RTR tires, except the canyon trails.
I ran those on my Gen8 for years. Wore them slap out. Very good for the price in my opinion. As you say, they are a great height for a portal truck.

I love my rock beasts. They just took a really long time to finally scrub in
They are perfect on the back of my Kyosho Outlaw Rampage!

Copy of the Proline 4.39 Swampers which are phenomenal for the size but expensive. These are doing pretty good for a knockoff.

I bought a set of those tires and there a good trail tire they’re a little small but it’s a good set a tires to have for 20 bucks
Thanks!

@@CrawlerCanyon we deserve a proper JUNKVIEW again where the JUNK is JUNK 😂
I got the Jconcepts 2.2's in today for the low trail k-10. they are huge! But maybe with some fender trimming and it will be fine.
Oh yeah, JConcepts (like Duratrax) make a monstrous 2.2. Like... probably double the... volume? of the 1.9 version.
