- Amazooooon!! It might not be the best, but it can be awfully cheap! The Junkviews, where we pinch the pennies as hard as we dare!
This is the "junkview of the "super swamper rocks tyre" knockoff of the Mickey Thompson Baja Pro X.

Great junk view, I trail 75-80% the rest is crawling some rock some wood etc. Many people do mixed activities with their crawlers nice to see affordable options for that. Thanks.
The foams I sent are not what comes in the tires. They're the stock foams out of my 10.3 Bronco. The foams that came in the tires are VERY hard.
The foam and tire worked surprisingly well together (especially considering that I tested the RC4WD versions with decent medium foams, as the RC4WD foams were, as usual, unusable) but I still think an XL hairbun would be the way to go with these.
I mentioned these knock-offs a while back and they are lousy on rock but good in the sand, mud and snow.
The fact that their terribleness on rock is right inline with what the "real" ones did is soft praise for these and a loud condemnation of the RC4WD version.
I have discovered that time of day, temperature, %RH, C02, and the moon can change the performance of any tire.
VXT2s only work in the rain, so I believe it. Summer is a'comin', and I haven't found a crawler tire yet that appreciates ground temps of 140ºF. All tires become bad tires.
A fellow Matrix lover! ❤😊
I've seen that movie 5+ times. Whenever I pass it zapping around I keep watching😅
If 5 times is a lot, I'd be afraid to mention how many times I've seen the movies in my personal top 10 list. But for reference, I saw The Fifth Element like 16 times... in the theater. Total? Easily a hundred.
"I need to hit it again" 😂 I have these. I only use them for mud, water, and trailing. They slide, skip, and hop on rock.
Just give it more BEANS. They're wildly unpredictable and not confidence inspiring, but they did far better than I had anticipated. Not great. But not wretched, either.
I love junk views! Thank you.
I have the rcwd pro xs on my trx4 bronco.with stock foams.it’s a heavy rig with weight down low.the tires crawl on rocks great.the weight helps.
I like to died right there he said I need to hit it again it was so funny so funny bro I like to died
I just commented on the trepador vid, and now ive seen these in action , not a fan.
They qere going to be specifically for rocks, and absolutely not now. Thankyou for saving my heartache lol
Gotta go head to head with these and the rc4wd version. I'm thinking one rig, left side clone tire, right side rc4wd tires. Probably a bad idea but could be fun.
They're SO close that I think if you threw all 8 tires in a sack, pulled out four, and mounted them blindfolded, you wouldn't be able to tell which is which.
Algae and tennis shoe, and I instantly understood the smell. 😂
First time I tried the Baja faux it was truly awful. Second time I tried them I flipped them and they were worn in and they didn't do bad. So I tried them in the third run and were so far behind my Jconcepts rigs they are now retired for good. At best they are an acceptable trail tire for the $18 I paid. Seems they are doing as good as can be expected in the Canyon. Good for a knockoff but far from great. They wear very fast.
Yeah, there's visible wear on the tallest lugs from just this episode. I still think they'd make an absolutely acceptable trail/mud tire, just because they're so cheap.
I was using double buns in them. May have done better with an XL bun as it may have filled the space better
As Bono would say.. Even better than the real thing yea!
I have a set of the Amazon mud slingers and they work a lot like these.
Put some soft Squid Inserts in them and they would improve drastically!
We need a top gear style leader board for tires, rankings and so forth.
Have you given thought to adding a wood or lumber section to your course to give the simulation of being in all types of terrain?
Every time I build a wood obstacle, it gets covered in rocks and concrete. I have a massive pile of scrap wood, including some 16’ 2x6s, and can just never figure out how to incorporate it in a way I won’t hate. Fun fact: underneath Undertaker? All wood under there. The original wood obstacle is buried under Sleeping Giant.
@@CrawlerCanyon 😆 Niiiiiice. I dont have a backyard so I have to do all my testing in parks and such. The last test I did was on slick rock, the whole rock formation was slick river rock. I have tested there before but this time I picked a different line and got unexpected results.
You are hilarious!!!! I think you have to be my favorite channel to watch at this point and time. Have you done a review of the RC4WD Thornbirds?
I have not, It has been suggested to me, though. I like the look of them (big sidelug for a scale version of a 1:1) but they're in X2S3, which is a decidedly meh compound. If they were in X2SS, I'd likely have a pair already. $31-33 a pair is also steep for a tire I know is going to have a sofa cushion for an insert.
@@CrawlerCanyon All that rubber on them makes them a sticky stiff tire so i cut my lugs to a more grippy pattern.
The only rig i've seen those tires do well on is my buddys trx4 defender
On wet rocks you know quick the more expensive tire!Ha ha!
I live very close to a lake, if you have a pair of shoes you wear into the water, you know those shoes never come back inside. That's what I imagine those fun bun tires smell like.
I have tried a bit of everything, right now my favorite are jconcepts tusk. Grippy little bastards are hard to beat.
The Tusk is one of my absolute favorite tires. Sure would be nice if they weren't nearly impossible to get.
@@CrawlerCanyon it is a shame. I was ahead of the curve on this one. I only wanted one more set of 4.75( to replace the hyrax on trx4), and I built a whole truck around the 3.93....... my guess is persistence will be key
@@ryurc3033 that 3.93 Tusk is one of the most insanely capable tires out there. Almost makes me want a UTB18 just so I'd have a use for them.
Since it likes, to upright itself in reverse. Maybe run them in reverse???
Self-righting would likely improve with the tires "backwards," but I think forward drive could actually have the potential to get worse. It's difficult to imagine, but most every tire with at least some directionality to it I've tried to run reversed has gotten decidedly worse.
First! Yessss!
If the Amazon knock off is as good as the original, you've made a lousy tire.
Ain't that the truth? I'm hoping at can at least through my future efforts put a small dent in PL's cult of personality.
Nothing worse than spinning through a cat turd, I know from experience 🤣
Lol. An EV
Still good effort!
Yea NO. I don’t want to have to beat the **** out of my rig to get it to climb
