This is the Junkview of the" Injora "2.2 Inch G8 120*48mm Rubber Tire For 1/10 Rc Crawler Car" which are at the very least a reasonable facsimile of the ProLine Flat Iron XL 2.2 (long since discontinued,) in approximately a 4.75" OD, but on a 2.2 wheel.

4:17 I got 4 of the 1.9 closed cell Timtins over some Amazon 2.2’s without much trouble mate, they didn’t split or anything, then stretched some very soft 2.2 open cell foams over the top of those. They went pretty thin though so if a normal 1.9 setup was 50:50 it was probably closer to 30:70 C:O.
Sorry that ratio was for a 5.7” tyre, might have been better for some shorter ones with a firm setup.
Did I miss the part where you vented the tires? Another cool test of the cheap stuff.
Every tire here is vented, so yes.

Those are fake proline flatirons😂 did you vent them? And those wheels would be great on an axial Capra like my 4ws. 2.2 should clear portal and they look good.
I know you don’t like PL but they hook up very well, id buy PL before pitbull and pitbull are wacky priced at times. There Pennie’s on the dollar especially since I’ve had mine 5yrs at least.

Yeah proline flatiron. Think they discontinued their 2.2’s but believe the 1.9XL’s maybe taller than your 2.2’s your testing. And yes PL irons are grossly wide hate a wide tire.
I have found tires to be almost as important as the foams🤔

Next testing idea, You should re-test this set up after you drill holes in the foam. I think it would help them.
A testing idea crossed my mind the other day for tires. Basically a set traction surface with a set rig, pulling on a scale like you use for servo testing. To get a numerical tested measurement of forward grip pulling power? It could be flat or inclined or whatever lol.
Well here we go finally going to comment on one. Throw some good foams or anti on those tires and see if there is any better difference I know you had to hole the tires but I think some good better foams they would act better but I know you are doing as come from shipper.

Oh I sent you an email earlier that Horizon is having a good sale on Duratrax tires. Most are either mounted or class 1 that isn't mounted lol. They are cheap though, some at $15.99. Deepwoods at $16.99
The Deep Woods have been discontinued so buy if you find them. I got a set with mismatch foams.

Shame it's all premounts. I used to think Traxxas employed all of the high-level Glue Wizards, until I tried to debond a set of Showdowns. They use about six times as much glue as is necessary. I don't recommend anyone try to debond them. If you can't get a Duratrax tire other than in a premount, just don't get it at all.
@CrawlerCanyon The only reason I'm not buying them lol. I knew you had done some before though. I tried a set of traxxas tires with a heat gun and the plastic wheels was melted down by the time I got the tires out. I gave up after the 2nd one 😆

They claim 15mm, but I seem to remember them measuring to 14mm. I'm using hubs from both brands, they appear pretty identical.

I wish every rtr did not glue the tires onto the wheels so you can tune them correctly. Baking off works tho..
The best method I've found so far is a heavy gloves, a heatgun, and BSI Debonder. Can get most assemblies separated saving the wheel, tire, and foam.
Acetone and a gallon Ziploc works great, I use nail varnish remover from Walmart, it's like $3, leave them in the bag for a couple days, flip and massage periodically.
Yep pro line flat irons is what they are comping I do believe sir! I like my flat irons I know u hate pro line but very good pattern at least in my area here in West Virginia! Same as crawler bfg! Do very well in these mountains ⛰️ 😂
