I made these chocolate chip cookie bars last night for dessert, but we put them in the refrigerator last night because when we checked them, they didn't feel light they were finished baking. They were still kind of soft and doughy on the inside. We keep them in the refrigerator all night, and then we cut pieces of them and warmed them up the microwave. They actually turned out great. They were so delicious. Thank you for this recipe!!!😊

I started mixing up all the ingredients and got to the flour and realized I didn’t have enough. I was about 3/4 of a cup short so I substituted oatmeal for the difference. I have 2 minutes left until they’re done baking. Hopefully 🤞 it works.

Hey Sam! I made these bars today. They were amazing just like all of your recipes. I have a question…in a lot of your recipes you use half light, half dark for the brown sugar but not this one. Would you recommend that I do this or is there reason for using light brown sugar?

Great recipe, tried several, used less butter(1 stick + 2 tbls), and baked 7 mins longer, perfect, if you like a more cake like bar, hate when you bake something and you have to guess, “is this the texture they are supposed to be”🙄
I just pulled these little gems out of the oven and can I just say, delish? I didn’t have two cups of chocolate chips, so I added butterscotch chips plus the chocolate chips and they were amazing. Thanks for the recipe. It will for sure go on a recipe card and in my book. Looking forward to using only chocolate chips next time. 😉
I think when people post recipes for baking they should put what altitude they are baking at. I live at 7000 feet, and this did not turn out, they were way too mushy, so I adjusted the flour and made them a second time, and they came out perfect and delicious.

This recipe looks so good! I love ❤️ chocolate 🍫 chip cookies 🍪 or bars or anything! I really want to try this recipe but I can only eat gluten-free foods! I don’t like a lot of gluten-free sweets/deserts! I could do my own gluten-free version! I have ulcerative colitis and chocolate is a major no no that’s hard for me to stay away from! Are you replacing the sugar with something else, or just trying to cut down? The reason i ask is most likely the fat and sugar is what keeps them chewy.
@@SugarSpunRun I think you’re right. I decided to brown the butter on the stove top then I put in the fridge for about ten min. I don’t think I gave it enough time to cool it

Can you use salted butter and just leave out/reduce the added salt in the dry ingredients? I never have unsalted butter on hand 😅
If you use salted butter you can reduce the salt to ½ teaspoon 🙂

I think when people post recipes for baking they should put what altitude they are baking at. I live at 7000 feet, and this did not turn out, they were way too mushy, so I adjusted the flour and made them a second time, and they came out perfect and delicious.

This recipe looks so good! I love ❤️ chocolate 🍫 chip cookies 🍪 or bars or anything! I really want to try this recipe but I can only eat gluten-free foods! I don’t like a lot of gluten-free sweets/deserts! I could do my own gluten-free version! I have ulcerative colitis and chocolate is a major no no that’s hard for me to stay away from! They have gluten-free baking alternatives! I think I will try a gluten-free version!

If I use salted butter then I’m assuming I’d omit the salt that you mentioned…correct?
You would only want to reduce the salt by 1/2 teaspoon, not omit it completely. :)

Can i adjust the brown sugar to 3/4cup?
Are you replacing the sugar with something else, or just trying to cut down? The reason i ask is most likely the fat and sugar is what keeps them chewy.
I think they will still turn out, but this is what I have found to be the best ratio to produce the best product. :)

@@SugarSpunRun I think you’re right. I decided to brown the butter on the stove top then I put in the fridge for about ten min. I don’t think I gave it enough time to cool it
I make them even easier & use a cake mix.
