Hi both I think we will find it hard , no time on the ball , tuff sides ,plenty wanting to give us a kicking , let's hope we have a few that can get stuck in , 67 days to kick off ,it's all too quiet from blues .

I also fancy Blues for automatic promotion, but we need to recruit players not only who will graft and run, but also with height and strength. Starting at the back, I rate Buchanan, but not so much Laird or Sanderson. However, all three of those lack physicality and aggression. Recruiting a physically imposing back four, a warrior in midfield and a bruiser up front are the areas I think will determine our end of season finish. Keep up the great work, gents - great podcast.

Height and strength will be massive next season. We lacked this so badly last year, and it was painful. You can't get away with that in L1, you will just get booted around the park. We need some warriors which I hope the new manager will bring in.

I remember going to leyton orient 1st game of the season away,we took thousands and thought we would hammer them, unfortunately we lost and it brought us back down to earth.

Thanks for sharing this and I have heard this story from a few blues fans over the weeks. To be honest I am inclined to expect something similar this year. It might take us a few games to adapt to the league and physicality. Even this year when Leeds and Southampton came down from PL it took them a while to get firing again. This could be the same for us.
Once we get a manager through the door and start making some transfers I think we will be okay but it's all very quiet at the moment.

I seem to remember Birmingham were the bookies favourites to win League 1- then known as Division 2- back in around 1994. Unless I’ve got them muddled up with another team.
4-1 were the odds anyway. I remember because I specialise in long term bets.

Absolutely, this is all just a bit of fun around what the bookies are predicting. As you say it's virtually impossible for all clubs really as the transfer market hasn't even opened yet.
Let's hope we get a manager this week and we can start to build an exciting squad over the summer.

Great podcast as always guys, I really like your channel. I think it will be hard for Blues in L1 and suspect we'll face some tough competition from the likes of Rotherham, Wrexham, Huddersfield and Bolton etc. I've got this horrible feeling that we'll just miss automatic promotion and will make it to the playoffs - obviously I hope I am wrong and we win the league! This will absolutely be a difficult league. I also think we will need a few games to adapt to L1 football. With the physicality and style we are certainly going to need some time to get used to this style of football.
Hopefully when the manager gets announced and the transfer window opens we can really start to build and push on for this season.

I think Blues will win the league but will be very difficult. Huddersfield and Rotherham will be in the mix . Possibly Charlton as well..

Nice to come across a friendly family you tube channel. A bit disappointed to gloss over my team Lincoln City who hardly got a mention on your predictions. We are entering our sixth season at this level and within that space of time have been beaten in the play off final once and last season finished one place short of the play offs in seventh. This year is the strongest league it has been for many years but I do think Birmingham and Rotherham will get the automatics with Peterborough the third place team.

I think it’ll be a tough season. Tougher than lots might think. I don’t want to be seen as the arrogant team that thinks it’s too big for the league either. Let’s stay humble as best we can. KRO
Thank you for your comment Michael. Absolutely, we want to respect all of the League One teams and not think we are big time Charlies. If we take that attitude then we will set ourselves up for a fall.
There are some decent teams in League One who know the league better than us so I think this will be tough. Hopefully, with a good manager and good recruitment we can make a good go of it. KRO

i got a feeling we will have a rocky start to league one,new manager new team,but i think once blues settle in to the league we will hit our stride and comfortably finish top two.

The players need to have a fight and be prepared to have a scrap in this league. The U18’s look like they’re ready for a fight as are the 21’s but I think we need to delve lower where it is dirty

Yeah, it's all just a bit of light-hearted fun with the early odds from the bookies.
I think we will hear something about the new manager this week. I have been hearing Frank Lampard on social media today but who knows at this point. All just rumours.
I think we will be okay once we settle with the new manager and the window opens. Just need to get a bit of stability at the club over the summer. I agree about our players needing to be up for the scrap in L1, it's a very physical league!

I personally don’t think Wrexham will finish that high in 6th - I reckon one or two more seasons and they could get in the playoff/automatic promotion spaces

Yeah, it is an unknown how they will get on this year or if they will continue the momentum from the past 2 seasons but everyone seems to be tipping them to do pretty well. It should be an interesting season for sure.

It's fairly easy to sign a lot of new players if you've got the finances . Very difficult to make them a team to challenge for promotion.
Thank you for your comment Frank. You make an excellent point. Buying lots of players does not ensure promotion. What is crucial is that recruitment is right so that the players we bring in have the right character and commitment as well getting in some leaders and a good solid captain! KRO

I don't think many people really care at this stage as the transfer window hasn't even opened and it's impossible to tell what moves clubs will make and who will be sold etc and as you rightly say our club doesn't even have a manager or new players.

Thank you for your comment. I suppose the answer to that will be determined by who the manager will be. In all honesty I don’t think any of the players are guaranteed to be there at the start if the season.
I hope that Jukey and John Ruddy sign the contracts they have been offered and I’d especially like to keep Buchanan, Beilek, Laird & Paik, however as stated I think most had the potential to be sold. Kind regards and KRO. Gary

Sorry I don't have any faith in the people making the football decisions so i think we will have a first' Dave Mackay'season in the third tier and just miss out on the play offs. It will take sometime to turn the Blues ship around as there is loads of work to be done on the pitch. KRO.

Fair take and opinion. I think a lot of fans possibly feel the same in regards to the footballing decisions. This is why we love football and the blues, it's all about opinion.

The Blues will be expected to gain promotion. However, Bolton , Peterborough, Huddersfield and Charlton will be strong. Wrexham could surprise a lot of people. Looking forward to the games with Salop and the Brewers

I am hearing a decent amount about Frank Lampard on social media today. But it is just rumours and the fact he "had an interview". It could mean anything at this point but I am impressed how quiet the club have managed to keep these conversations.

Interesting that you've put Wrexham in 18th. People are predicting they will do pretty well.
I personally also think Rotherham will rob an automatic place, not because of all the free transfers they have been nabbing but because they are experienced at this level at coming back up. They are the classic yoyo club between L1 and the Championship.
This is why we love football it's all about opinion and thank you for predicting the table.

Stockport finished above Wrexham last season and think Stockport will finish above Wrexham this coming up season.
Last season had Leyton Orient and Northampton both staying up quite comfortably in mid table. I wrongfully underrated Stevenage, Steve Evans did an awesome job for Stevenage. If Stevenage still had Steve Evans would have put them higher.
Leyton Orient, Northampton, Stevenage finished above Stockport in the league 2 campaign in the 22/23 season. And think that can continue to happen.
Last season made some bold predictions, predicted Cambridge United and Northampton Town would stay up. (Very few people predicted that)
Predicted Bradford wouldn’t make the play offs last season. (Very few did that)
A month/2 months in advance predicted (stated on RUclips) (Portsmouth would gain promotion at home to Barnsley)
Birmingham/Bolton 2 biggest teams in league 1, think Rotherham could do it through the play offs.

We’re in the slow lane at moment with no manger and with this depending on fixtures blue’s could get of to bit of slow start . But has long has we’re in top ten at Xmas we will be fine because that’s when we will come good ..👍🏻💙🤍💙

I have been to Wast Hills and the new Henley-in-arden facility and they are amazing. I was fortunate enough to play at Wast Hills and when you are used to Sunday League football the pitches and the grass are like playing on a snooker table in comparison. Absolutely unreal.

I think for teams like my team (rotherham) you lads and huddersfield and bolton its who can get the points when theyre playing against 11 defenders i mean lets face it us 4 will have strongest squads and no one apart from when we play each other is going to go to one of our gaffs and let it be an open game. I think its them games against the scruffy physical teams and the head to heads that will seperate autos from play offs for us all because id be amazed if them 4 teams arent in top 6

I reckon Wrexham will be the team to beat next year, they're on a roll, and from living in the region, albeit as a neutral, they are massive. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stockport make the playoffs too. It's gonna be very tough for you this season, but if you can finish above both these two you deserve to go back up

Stockport County and Wrexham will be competitive, Mansfield will be ok, but Crawley won a poor play-off section after scraping 7th place with just one win in the last five games and finishing 22 points behind Stockport County with a goal difference of just +6 compared to County’s +48.
