Of course it doesn't, which is why it's so much fun when all the masters of hindsight come along at the end of the season! 😂 I'd argue that L1, L2 and the VNL are as open as they've ever been this season! 👍
@@HonestFootballPodcast don't think they will this time Jules, Aimson, Hartridge, Carroll and Harris all gone from last season that's a lot of your spine gone and I honestly don't rate their transfer business. Woods is lazy and Magennis isn't an out and out scorer the rest aren't tested at this level.
It's virtually impossible to call this season and I'd argue that from L1 down, all of the leagues are much more open than in recent seasons. It's going to be really interesting and the bottom in particular was an absolute nightmare to call! 😂
They are but there are risks with the club not being able to keep up off the pitch. As Luton fans, we don't need telling that momentum is crucial but except League 1, even our meteoric rise had a couple of steady seasons in! 😂
Wow, surprised by the Bolton 1st shout! I don't think we'll go up with Evatt's tactics, he has no Plan B (see playoff final and losing 3-1 at home to Carlisle as examples) and I hate 352. The signings so far have been pretty uninspiring, and I'm worried about the midfield. I can't really see past Birmingham and Rotherham for the top 2 this season, and fully expect Wrexham to bankroll their way up there.
It's hard to tell with so long to go in the window but Bolton don't seem to have improved much in the summer, if at all. Evans has built one hell of a team at Rotherham and Birmingham should really be there given the money spent for this level!
Maybe you haven't seen boltons change of system this pre season then.??..I'm going for that team to win L1 by 10/12 points...3/4 more signings coming in before window closes too, that's a hell of a squad....Bolton as my champions.
Birmingham beat Rotherham even with Rooney in charge,Bolton are a team Birmingham rarely lose against, I suspect a few reverses in the early games while the team settles in,but then a solid unbeaten run should see them into the top two ,I have supported the blues since 1956 and have never seen them go up as champions from any division and therefore suspect Blackpool may just see us off
With respect, Rotherham have a new manager and whole new squad to last year. I agree though, anything other than top 2 for Birmingham is a travesty this season! 👍
Rotherham best squad in the league……I can’t think of any Rotherham players that get into the Birmingham starting 11 and Birmingham have players like Marc Leonard on the bench
Well I wouldn't expect a Birmingham fan to be in agreement with that opinion. Most balanced is probably what I was looking for. Ultimately, we think you both go up. 👍
@@HonestFootballPodcast Just looking to understand the context further, who from Rotherham first 11 gets into Birmingham first 11? Rathbone instead JJ or Paik? Clarke Harris for May?
Top 6 would be a good season off progress, even just to be in the fight. I'll have to make sure I watch the Luton legends live at least once this year, especially now you've got Chicken George too!! 😂
Take out the disastrous Rooney tenure and the bad luck of Venus having to take the reins when TM was taken ill and Blues would have finished top half of the Championship. No question of that. Bielek has stayed along with Laird & Buchanan & Myoshi and at the time of writing Paik, James & Dembele are still here. These are quality Championship players. The summer additions have made our squad even stronger. The supporters are behind this with record season ticket sales and that positivity is running through the club despite last season. By no means do I think we will walk this league as it can be brutal, but over the course of 46 games I can't see us not accumulating enough points to get promoted at first time of asking - hopefully in first place.
It's hard to tell in truth. On paper, I think yourselves and Rotherham currently have the best squads by a distance. There's always at least one surprise though and thee new Head Coach is a gamble. You can never judge man management until they've been in the role, so hopefully it matches his ability as a coach for you. 🤞

Champions: Birmingham City
Promoted: 2nd Peterborough
Playoffs: 3rd Reading, 4th Bolton, 5th Rotherham, 6th Barnsley
Relegated: 21st Burton Albion, 22nd Shrewsbury, 23rd Cambridge Utd, 24th Crawley
Playoff Winners: Rotherham
Reading is a very interesting call, though I suppose it depends on off the pitch timings yet again! 😩
It never ends up as predicted, Peterborough are over rated this time. Bolton, Charlton and Birmingham are the strongest looking sides.
Of course it doesn't, which is why it's so much fun when all the masters of hindsight come along at the end of the season! 😂

I could well see Stockport sneaking in too. I think they're more likely than Wrexham, as it stands before the inevitable big name signings! 😂

Going to be an interesting season. As you allude to, there are a lot of wild cards in League 1!

What is Burminum? Do you mean Birmingham?
Like nails on a chalkboard every time he says it
Blackboard
I mean if that's the biggest worry from this episode, with respect, we're doing alright. 😂 Good luck for the season. 👍
@@HonestFootballPodcast it’s just ridiculous that you can’t pronounce it correctly.

I don’t understand this idea that Wrexham needs to calm down a bit. Momentum is a massive thing in football, if they are flying, let them fly.

Also I did enjoy your predictions! 😀 be interesting if you have reaction to match weeks
We’ve got to do it this season. Not sure though hope Nathan Jones can get us playing again. I’m hopeful of playoffs but not really autos

bolton top, i agree, huddersfield close second. birmingham, barnsley, charlton, rotherham in playoffs. playoff winners birmingham.
I wish I'd known McAtee was joining before I put you 4th! Huddersfield are an interesting one, not sure what to expect from them yet. 😂
