- 2021 Kia K5 resonator delete with stock mufflers, sounds a little sloppy, definitely will be putting on a catback exhaust when they become available. I’m the meantime the resonator delete adds a little more volume and the occasional pop on upshifts.
I love the front end of the K5. It looks so aggressive and actually pretty quick for what it is. I am hoping that taillights get refreshed at one point because while I understand a full light bar would make it look too much like the stinger, the reverse lights and turn signals really should be LED as well for a car at this price point. With that being said, the exhaust is perfect tone in my opinion. Any louder and it just sounds like it’s trying to hard.
I replaced the incandescents with LED on mine. Inexpensive upgrade. Now everything is led.
@@ScottH1130 how did you do that? Link?
I dig the look of the Sonata so much more, but I seem to be in the minority here. Something I don't like about the K5.
But the N Line Sonata's look slick as heck from the front, and the rear has kind of Monte Carlo vibes or something.
@@PulseAndrew Sonata looks nice too. I will agree that the Sonata looks better from the back, but the front grille and LED lights ln the Kia K5 are so unique and very aggressive-looking.
I bought a Sonata N line, did a res delete as well, and added magna flow Mufflers instead of stock, it sounds somewhat like this but alittle deeper and raspy, have a little drone but I don't mind it.
post a video, i want to check it out!
The most difficult Kia to find around the IE. When i bought my Stinger, I wanted to test drive this for the heck of it but there isn’t any GT’s around my area at all! don’t sleep on the k5
Fr bro I been looking too
Yeah dude, same here. I got lucky but, I got one of the only K5 GT's in my area of AZ.
@@zacharygensel2249 Still tough over here in the IE. Lots of GT-Lines and LXS.
Found one in Moreno Valley, test drove it and it's very very nice good power. Only issue is dealer is asking almost $44,000 for it lol
@@MegaAwesomusMaximus You can probably find a new Stinger for that price sheesh! Yea, terrible mark up price for that.
Clean clean love this color too
How did you do the resonator delete? Is there anywhere online that lists out the steps?
I would like to get some more sound out of my GT as well. The mufflers are pretty small so I’m not certain just swapping them would make a big enough difference. It might be best to delete the resonator and replace the stock mufflers to get a meaner sound. Since nobody currently makes an aftermarket exhaust yet.
Borla announced they will be releasing an exhaust for the car soon.
Borla is supposed have a full exhaust kit coming. I've also seen a great sounding electronic cutout kit. I personally think the resonator delete sounds horrible.
Borla just released their custom exhaust for the 2.5L on their site. Hoping to start seeing some reviews on it
@@10nicktt i dont like them tbh
Can you do a few more videos. Maybe some drive bys and take off?
Doesn't sound healthy afterwards. I would've left everything intact, but changed out two rear mufflers with Magnaflow™ Performance mufflers. Then it would have a deep, authoritive note!
I’m going to go with a borla set up eventually. Deleting the stock resonator wasn’t expensive and can be undone if I wanted. I had done the same to my GTI I used to own and it sounded great. You live and learn.
I am doing it, thanks
Cool vid man. I’ve got the same exact car and this is tempting to get done, did you notice a significant dip in fuel efficiency at all?
nope, its just a resonator delete, nothing that can effect fuel efficiency. It still has catalytic converters and the stock muffler.
@@TAKECOVER222 dope I called and my local guy said he’d do it.. I’m not gonna have to worry ab drone or engine lights or sumn?
@@oliverbuddy6784 nah, none at all. All the O2 sensor are upstream from the resonator and muffler. its just slightly louder than stock. I've had the car in for warranty work and nothing was mentioned of it because it doesnt alter the performance of the engine.
@@oliverbuddy6784 not at all, doesnt really drone
Just got my 2022 K5 GT
Any videos of you driving around?
so much better than stock
Sounds amazing does it pop when u downshift?
it can a little bit, the stock mufflers really tone it down.
@@TAKECOVER222 unfortunately it's not necessarily the mufflers that stop it. I have the 22 GT, I did a resonator and muffler delete and you still don't get much in the way of pops. if you want to get a lot you'd have to get a tune, and not many places are equipped to tune these sadly
@@glymerz4800 you have video of the sound with the muffler and resonator delete?
@@jaredwillis962 I just uploaded a short, only the cold start I don't have any passbye tho
@MY KIA K5 GT nope no codes
What’s the front lip on the car? Looks nice
Thank you, it’s all stock actually.
did you do anything to the mufflers yet?
What about fuell average per 100km did it go up after installing this thing
This is more of an aesthetic mod, it’s just a resonator delete so no difference in power, efficiency or anything
Can you post a driving clip
What's the bike parked on the passenger side?
2009 Triumph Tiger 1050, really fun bike.
Do you feel any difference?
i mean you can hear the exhaust more but no other difference.
Really wish kia offered an AWD GT but oh well
Any check engine lights?
Nope, it’s just the resonator, O2 sensors only care about exhaust coming from the catalytic converts.
@@TAKECOVER222 muffler delete would be awesome too. Might end up doing res/ muffler delete on my GT.
@@TAKECOVER222 any drone?
@@george.giannop nothing noticeable, my girlfriend barely even notices the exhaust except outside the car on a cold startup
@@george.giannop if you do it post a video, I’m not sure what I want to do with the exhaust next, I think I might wait for borla to come out with a catback exhaust
Muffler delete would of sounded better tbh
i have one it doesnt sound any different than this really
Sounds like my leaf blower
sounds like nothing better invest in a good flap exhaust system you will be happier with it in the long run ..
as stated in the description, waiting for the market to create bolt on options. ive been in contact with Borla and they are in the R&D stage for a Stype exhuast system for this model, hopefully it makes it to market because i loved my borla exhaust on my old GTI.
Sounds like cow farting.
are you cow fart aficionado or something.
Diss like
Fart can
Sounds terrible
