Deleting FB because of censorship
I am out. No more CENSORSHIP, no more using me to make money and I lived great before this corrupt company.
I find it outrageous that I even have to look this up. It really just shows you how much they want your data.
I wasted from 2007-2019, on FB. My sister eliminated her account and this gave me the courage and motivation to terminate mine. I have my life back now! Life is precious. Time is something you cannot buy. Delete your Facebook now!

I just deleted mine. It still shows me as being a friend of other people. Will my profile completely disappear in 30 to 90 days? I don't want to show up in any way, shape or form. I deleted my account because actions speak louder than words.

I am deleting my account because I am appalled by Facebook's refusal to abide by normal and decent respect for the truth. I am an ad executive and BEFORE I place an ad on TV, the script and and final video goes through network clearance. Any claim I make in an ad, on behalf of my clients, must be substantiated. The FTC/networks reject any claim that isn't legitimate and the study providing that claim (that "Tide is the best detergent for getting out dirt," for example) must be a quantitative study to prove this claim (not a focus group or other qualitative source for claims). This should be done by Facebook for all ads they accept - rules all other media follow, per the FTC. Failing to do this simple and legitimate thing undermines our free speech. Facebook doesn't deserve my business and will not, in future. Thank you for posting this video!

I’m done with social media and being a target for advertising. Facebook is absolutely listening to everything you say. Your privacy is gone. Politics have taken over the entire platform and FB is taking over the world. I doubt they delete my information, they will keep it on a server somewhere.
Ain't that the truth. I only use Facebook on the mobile browser. I texted my dad that there was a new Harbor Freight in the town I was passing through. Next time I checked Facebook, first wall ad, was harbor freight. I guess even the 3rd party browser on the phone isn't safe from sniffers.

the fact that it's so hard to delete your account that you need to look up a video on how to do it is on of the reasons i'm pissed enough to actually permanently delete my account.
My anxiety amplifies by 10 whenever I use facebook's perks and all I want to do is delete things from my timeline and fully swipe my account. I seldomly use it.
I am deleting my account because I've been locked out of my account several times for undefined lengths of time without explanation or recourse. Supposedly while they investigated 'suspicious activity' on my account, without ever specifying what that activity was or the results of their 'investigation'.

I deleted my Facebook account for the opposite reason of everyone else; I deleted because I wasn't using it instead of deleting it because I was using it too much.
I can sit on facebook for four hours and get nothing out of it, I can also sit on a plane for four hours and travel from New Zealand to Australia. Its a major time waster.
There were many other reasons listed... so you are not the opposite reason of everyone else.

The final straw prompting me to delete Facebook... I named my son after me almost forty years ago. We work for the same company which I am now retired. I posted a photo with a retirees site on Facebook that got shared and ultimately got blamed on him! Ironical, MY SON DOS'NT EVEN HAVE A FACEBOOK ACCOUNT, but still got blamed for the post only because we share the same name. Last thing I need is to cause trouble for my family!
The add volume is overwhelming and annoying. It was nice in the beginning to hook up with long lost friends but now we are all being exploited by Facebook

I'm deleting my account for several reasons. Censorship, privacy concerns, and overall negative impact on society. About 5 few years ago I predicted there would be mass exodus from all social media platforms. It is more gradual then I predicted, but people are wising up and it is finally starting to happen. I have offended and/or been offended by too many friends and family members. I accepted friend requests from people I didn't know well and now realize I don't care to know. Hard part is letting go of good people.

Thanks for the info. My mom is in the nursing home unable to do anything on facebook or computer, someone has hacked her facebook account twice. I am tired of explaining to her friends the situation. Facebook also needs to be aware that some people do die and the family has to delete their accounts. It should be easier!!
