- RUclips have rolled out RUclips Handles and they could be available for you now. What do RUclips Handles do? How do you use them? And how can YOU get your RUclips Handle now? All these questions are answered in this video 😎
To get your RUclips Handle, just go to
/ handle
Then follow along with this video to either accept the Handle that RUclips have given you, or to change it to a Handle you prefer.
You have until Nov 14 to claim the handle you want. After that time, RUclips will give you a Handle. You can change it after that point, so you don't need to worry about it.

I got an email saying "You can now choose your channel’s handle." but when i go to the website it just says "Handles will be rolling out soon. We’ll notify you when you can choose yours." very weird if you ask me
check if it's the same account you use when you received the email and the account you use for yt
Have you figured out a solution? I have had the same issue all day, I keep checking back and nothing... I am signed in to the correct account.
It'll be rolled out to EVERYONE very soon. They have a cut off point of Nov 14 before YT auto assign Handles to channels. So they're going to be available in the next few days 😎

I have 2 ids in which i have 3k and in another it is 15 subs I got handle in 15 subs id but not in my main channel :(

Right now it’s the 16th of November for me cus I’m late but they didn’t choose for me and I got my own one by my self but ty for sharing this now I know what it is
What’s really fun is that I can’t open it, says send to app, I’m on the app, and it sends to the App Store and so it’s quite literally impossible to claim my handle.

It prob won't change much by itself. It's how people recognise how to find you. So when you're letting people know about you, it's letting them know how others can find you easier is the real thing... 👍

It's not based on size. I have a channel with 600 subs that it's available for. You mentioned one that has 2,000 and it isn't available for them. So I can see them allowing bigger channels to set theirs first so no one squats on their brand but beyond that it doesn't seem there is any real logic to the roll out, per usual with youtube.
Two question does it effect your channel like when go to youtube app my channel will be gone ? And its basically give you a link or somthing?

Yeah, mine was stolen and replaced because I never received an email or notification of what was happening. I had a very unique and very desired handle from the beginning. That was so wrong of RUclips. Going to Rumble now. 😊

Hi David, thanks for the video. Is there a way to claim a handle after someone else has had it? There's a handle that I want for one of my channels, but one of my other channels had had it previously. I wanted to "transfer" the handle over to the other channel but it's still showing as taken.
You'll have to release that handle on the other channel first. I don't know if there's a waiting period to be able to claim it. Usually it was 30 days with Custom URL's and it could be the same with these.
It's one of the MANY things that will be on the long list of questions to ask YT when these are fully rolled out. For now, release it on the old channel, and keep going back to the newer channel and see if it becomes available for you... 😎

@@DavidWalshOnline Thank you for the reply. I figured it out. RUclips will save 2 handles for you at a time, no more, no less. On the first channel, even though I changed the handle, it was still being reserved, so I could not use it in the second channel. But once I changed my handle yet again on the first channel, now the oldest handle disappeared (reserving only the most recent 2), and could now be taken up by the second channel. All done.
@@sher_code this didn’t work for me. It reserves the original for 2 weeks. But it reserves handles 2 at a time when you change it from the original.

Hi David, I’m all set with the handle. They custom assigned it and when I go onto google and put it search bar my channel comes right up. Same thing if I use the custom URL. My question is when I’m signed into my RUclips account and go my channel I don’t see either the custom handle or even the custom URL in search bar. Maybe it’s only because I’m signed in? Could this be a browser issue? Im on a Mac Air 2016 using Safari so it’s old at this point.

Hi David, two questions. Does the handle help in SEO? The second question is do I need a different email for each account to have a handle? I have 3 accounts attached to one email but was allowed one handle. When I switched to the other accounts, the option to select a handle wasn't there.
It can help with SEO.
You should’ve have to have a separate email per channel. Each channel will have its own handle…
How have you set the other channels up? What content do you have on them?

You don’t delete the old ones. They’re still there, pointing to your channel…
Hello! I deleted a previous channel I had, and now I want to claim my old handle for this one. Whenever I try, it says it's already in use but I know it's not the case, since I deleted mine, and no one else has claimed it so far. How should I proceed to retrieve it? Thanks!

they broke the way this works, or the rollout was flawed. i have another channel with a specific name, and at one time, wanted the youtube URL to match. someone already owned that url. however, handles rolled out to me first and i was able to snag the handle i wanted. the person with the original YT url was forced to take a handle with a number because i got the handle before them as it didn't roll out to them before me. that's kinda messed up, but.. since i got what i had always wanted (and rightfully so since i even own an actual website domain name of that name), i guess i can't complain lol.. but hopefully others are aware that even if they own a YT channel with a shortcut url, it doesn't mean they will automatically get the handle version of that name. if it rolls out to them first, they will get the handle of their existing YT url name, but if it doesn't roll out to them first, someone else can steal it from under them.

I've selected my handle but when I go to my channel it doesn't show up. It's just that same long list of random letters. However, when I search myself using my selected handle, I pop up.
Yeah, it won’t always stay with your handle URL… but you can be found with it 👍

Signed into my channel it’s the same random letters in the search bar but when I search myself with handle or custom URL it comes up it can be seen in search bar for channel. Thought there was an issue but I guess it’s not after reading this. It’s only meant for others to find you with.

When I go to the link on safari or chrome on my phone, it opens the App Store to RUclips’s page and then clicking open there just comes to the RUclips app…

Open the link in the browser and aim to keep it in the browser rather than the app… you may need to log in, and get it there…
I just got mine today.
MAKE SURE TO GET RARE HANDLES IF THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE!!! for example: 3 character handle, 3 character numeral handle (999 in the world only), 4 character numeral handle (9999 in the world only) or if you could get an actual word username.

I love the RUclips handle idea! But ever since it came out, the handle URL link never works. It takes me to the 404 Not Found page. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, each channel will have their own handle. It allows each channel to be found easier… if you want them to be found that is… 😉

What's the point of the handle if I type my handle @TexasBeekeeper into the RUclips search and my channel doesn't even come up? I feel like RUclips is doing a horrible job at making my channel visible, even before this handle came about.
