I have a Paulownia that is 12 feet tall and 3 months old.
I am very impressed with it's growth, I cut it down at the base 3 months ago.

Their growth is truly incredible, apart from climbing plants, some species of grass and bamboo I don't know of a faster growing plant.

What’s the growth on it now ? What climate are you in ? Thanks

We started growing these at the same time. I planted mine in the ground last summer. Cut them to the ground this spring and the tallest one is 160cm = 5 feet 3 inches where I come from.

I would like to also add it's been record high temp where we live in zone 5. 90-100 degrees F most of the summer. We haven't had a lot of rain either.

I've had temperatures around 20C (68F) during the day and 12C (54F) at night, so far the trees in pots haven't grown much bigger since this video was published, but the Paulownia tree in the ground has grown a lot. It is currently about 2m high (6 and a half foot) and is still growing quickly, although it will stop at some point in September when the frosts come. I think my trees in the pots will need to be planted in the ground if I want them to get bigger, they don't seem to do well in pots. At those temperatures your trees have the potential to grow extremely fast, even though they are drought tolerant they won't grow at their full speed unless they have lots of water. I will probably make another update video this autumn once they have stopped growing.

when do you get seeds? and when do you pick them? green or brown ones?

interesting thanks and hello from almost 57.6N. Do you think these trees would be good candidates for ramial wood chip compost/mulch? Most people looking for vegan soil amendments are using willow at the moment.

Yes, these should work well especially if you use the one year old growth, it has a lot of green material and isn't very woody and so should work well as a mulch and would compost down easier than other trees. The leaves are high in nitrogen and so would be good as a feeding mulch.

Yes I filmed an update at the end of last summer, you can find the link in the video description, the growth from my biggest plant was phenomenal.
