Peter Green is my 2nd favorite guitartist (British) after Jeff Beck. Your intersting albiet short overview about him, his life, LSD, MESCALINE, mental illness and your meeting was very thoughtful overview. I appreciate the time and your reflection. It rounds out more about him, things i found fascinating.

Happy Birthday Peter Green ! This was a treat ,just enjoyed an after work coffee & "exotic cigarette" myself while watching. I have a stack of Guitarist magazines from the mid to late 90's and somewhere there's an article all about Peter's Les Paul and an in depth interview with Gary Moore concerning the guitar & his friendship with Peter . It was confirmed to be a magnet flip that occurred during a repair to the wiring . I really like that tone & don't know why I haven't done it to mine yet . Should have been a Tea chat (PG Tips) 😁 Cheers Ramon 👍

Loved the trill in Rattlesnake Shake! I missed Danny by a few weeks in London, fall of 72. I was acquainted with the opening act, McKendree Spring, and they held FM in very high regard. I was aware of Peter, but vaguely. Danny's' Tell Me All the Things You Do has been stuck in my ear for nearly 50 years. I stumbled on to Peter's Oh Well and Rattlesnake Shake (etc.) about a decade ago via RUclips- how could I have ever missed this? I watched the chat twice but can only give it the one thumbs up.... Oh Well.

Saw him with Fleetwood Mac introducing THEN PLAY ON album, Fillmore East, late 60s. Best live blues player I ever saw. By this time, better than even, Clapton. And I've seen all the greats. A good current
live English Blues player is Bonnamassa.

Someone that had the magnet flip was Tony Hicks from The Hollies. He had an ES-345 with Varitone circuit, as they all had stock. Tony must have had it wired in mono, but still used the Varitone and both pickups too. He only had it that way until '66 when i noticed the chicken head knob wasn't present on the guitar and the middle position tone seemed in phase. Good songs to listen to the out of phase tone are: "Here I Go Again" and "Baby That's All". There are many from the early years that have that sound though. I have one guitar wired out of phase and one in phase, with very similar pickups and pots. I like both sounds for different reasons.

@@TheGuitarShow My pleasure and thank you. When i hear that sound or know that it is indeed out of phase, i get excited. I also like the number 3 and number 6 position on the Varitone because they lack low end the most and sound bright. Those are the positions i have seen Tony using in pictures and videos. I am too obsessive i guess. B.B. King used those positions as well. It sounds good to my ears.

Love Peter Green. I think Peter affected a certain kind of player as he wasn't as flashy as others. He was much more melodic than most. But his phrasing! Oh his phrasing! In Blues phrasing is 90%. He had the 90% plus another 30%! 8-)
