Anytime somebody's asked me who my favorite guitar player is I think to myself "that's such an impossible question" and then eventually I remember it's B.B. King
I was very fortunate to see Mr. King perform in later 2010, at Casino Rama in Ontario. He also autographed a brand new Epiphone "Lucille" guitar for me. I still have it, of course, but don't dare play it. It may still have some of his DNA on it! RIP, Mr. King, and thank you for your music. Thank you, Guitar Show, for this video!
BB got the babes and the guitars. He seemed down to earth too. He only had to play one note to bring the house down. He is a USA treasure and the whole world.
My little brother, Brody, was gifted a prototype “Little Lucile” from the man himself in the early 90s, at that time Brody was playing BB’s in Memphis a lot
Hard to really quantify just how influential BB’s phrasing was. He took a rudimentary music style and packaged it into something people could really feel and connect with. By all accounts an absolute sweetheart of a man too.
RIP to the King of the Blues, great video as always. I know that I've been asking this a lot but I've still love to see a video on Daron Malakian from System of a Down, Kirk Hammett/James Hetfield, Joe Perry, Mark Tremonti, Billy Gibbons, Freddie King, Jack White, Ace Frehley or Paul Stanley
Fantastic video Ramon! I have a request for you. I’m not sure if you’re a fan of Jeff Buckley, but his album Grace is about to turn 30 years old in August! I would love to see you do a video on the history of his guitars since he lived such a short life but had quite an interesting collection…
@@TheGuitarShow but, you killed it on this video Ramon! BB had a bunch of other guitars I never knew about. Apart from the normal Lucille and 335-styles I knew about the ES-5, the Esquire, the ES-330 as well as the archtop Gibson he electrified that was stolen but everything else was a revelation. Thank you for all the fantastic research and work you do!
Everyone knows that BB was as crucial for guitar playing as Charlie Christian, Robert Johnson, or Hendrix. But he was also a heck of a pianist, too ! But hardly ever recorded with it, sadly. And don’t forget his massive vocal power ! Watch him singing in the Congo, ‘Rumble in the Jungle’,..standing w e l l back from the mic !…
Those 52 and 53 goldtops were junk. You can tell Gibson was shitting themselves to get something out quick to respond to Fender. But it obviously wasn’t R&D(ed).Interestingly one of the (probably the) original guy that put Strats on the map Buddy Holly originally bought a 52 goldtop and returned it for the Strat. The goldtop is in a museum somewhere in TX
Junk is an exaggeration. The neck angle wasn't correct and the tailpiece/bridge combo wasn't done correctly. The rest of the guitar is still an early Gibson Les Paul.
This was awesome. B.B King is a great blues guitarist. I saw him live in 2006. May he rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️🎸

6:05 - I think that pic shows Gatemouth Brown, not B.B. King! Great video!

Another great video. BB got me in to the Blues.🥰🥰

Thanks Ramon! Another great history lesson!
Glad you enjoyed it
Those early black & white photo's are fantastic, all of them are, but those just stand out to me. Another great video Goose, thank you.
Pleasure!
What a fantastic video ramon rsmon have a wonderful day also today is my friends birthday ❤😊
I got the “live at Regal” and it is a dream guitar. Love it to pieces!
Awesome Guitarist
The photo at 6:00 is Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, not BB. The photos in this are great though! Many I have never seen!
Thanks - yes I have already been told - Ill remove that section when I get time - off to Cuba now for recording!
Great video I didn’t know he played a tele 👌👍
Hear the Tele on his 1955 version of Everyday I Have the Blues. I think this is his strongest guitar playing.
Yeh and without a truss rod so clearly a very early (Broadcaster?) model.
Oh hell, Charley Patton and T-Bone Walker were playing the guitar behind their heads way before Hendrix!
Do you think you can do a video on Tony rice or Billy strings?
Very cool... thank you ☕🎸
My pleasure!
Acoustic all day
I know its a far cry from BBs but i just purchased the Firefly "Lucille*. I absolutely love it.
Lovely!
Got bless BB King
That was great Goose, Thanx mon... Now where's the sig ESP Navigator
Goose Deluxe and how will it be setup?
Coming soon!

Is the photo featured from 6.03 to 6.16 actually BB King? I may be wrong but it looks more like Clarence Gatemouth Brown.
Correctamundo!!
I'll cut it out when I get the time! Thanks

@@larryn2682 mate it doesn’t have a truss rod. Most necks bowed in the 50’s. If you can find one that’s not junk lemme know
