    Little late to the party here. Basically OK with the software when using it just to remove vocals and/or guitar for play and sing along tracks. My beef with this package is that they claim you can export stems as MIDI and I have never managed to get anything even remotely usable. Have only tried drums and base, but it seems like those would be easier to do. Contacted support and got what I'd consider to be fairly passive aggressive, unhelpful answers that seemed to state that I was doing something wrong without being able to tell me what that was. It's still competitive with other packages doing similar things - I just wish if a feature didn't work they'd just take it out instead of letting me my time trying to get it working.

      Regardless if your question to Ripx is valid or not, you should be treated as normal and passive-aggressive. Not a good look.

    Virtual DJ also has a function for remove vocals. Have you tested it out. Its free. I love freeware.

    Question: if one uses such tool to extract vocal from copyright material, and then uses that extracted vocal and use it as a sample in different song, would YT detect it as copyright infringement? Asking for a friend ;)

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  Год назад +3

      Well try it out and suffer the consequences ^^ No its always copyright infringement if you do that, if you play the fair use card you will enter a legal rabbithole which can be different per country. Always ask permission if you use it in a different song.

      @@whitenoisestudio You speak wise, young master :) I ain't rushing into arena of the law suits from big labels (or small labels), just because I've used their properta (yeah, properta, as in "respekt ma properta" by Eric Cartman, remember that?). But it is sooo tempting, especially because using other people's samples it really does evoke that nostalgic... thing, a certain feeling... like, "hey, I do know this sound, I've heard it somewhere, it really reminds me." - that kind of noir nostalgia. That's the emotional level I'm seeking to evoke, but it is so dang hard to achieve it properly. And if you try to replicate, and got stuck in "uncanny valley" of audio, where your replica of other people's samples sounds so... cringy. Well then, what remains is to be original and have unique sound - which is even harder to produce because we all use same plugins, same techniques, same everything....

    Thought that it was Mac-only software, didn't know that it was ported to PC? Anyhooo.... How does it compare to other AI-related tools like Lalai, VX Pro, RX10, others? Which of them is da best, in your opinion?

      Hey Dalibor!
      No its also pc for a while now. Its at least on par with the softwares you mention but I need to do a more in depth check between those for a proper answer.

      @@whitenoisestudio Thanks! I've done few experiments as well, all of them differ in quality. And ammount of audible artifacts they all leave behind is ... well, it's far from perfect. Shall we ask ChatGPT for advice? (just kidding :)

      Chat GPT is trained on the interwebs until 2021, so good luck with that ;-)
      I actually did a few comparisons back in 2021, so maybe chat GPt will give the right answer ^^

    Question can this software also remove vocals that are in none music videos like let's say remove the talking of a person in an interview? Would be interesting to know of if there is a specific software for that. Thanks for the video :).

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  Год назад +2

      Thanks for watching! Well it isolates vocal and voice is just the non melodic version of that ;-) BUt in an interview, it would be tedious since my guess is that there will be more voices? You can go in, check the vocal stem and manually delete the parts you dont want.
      But as always, results may vary.

    I have a bunch of local band 2-track soundboards where; for example the drums, vocals, and guitar are in one channel, and bass, second guitar in the other. Would it be better to demix each channel separately or simultaneously? How do you know which option would do a better job at separating?

    • @whitenoisestudio
      @whitenoisestudio  7 месяцев назад +1

      I would try something like compression / limiting first to see if that gels things together. You can always demix, with a couple of dB to work with before it sounds worse. The best option is found by listening ofcourse ;-)

    I bought the basic version. Converting song results in a huge quality loss. Converted songs sounds like CHEAP 128kbps (if not 92kbps), even when the software is set to maximum quality.
    Disappointing
