@EmpoweredPara You are doing an amazing job I respect all paraplegic women or anybody with a disability in fact that get on with life. I’m a 31 year old and my girlfriend is a t10 complete paraplegic. She’s 30 years old and she’s been a paraplegic since she was 5 years old. As you can imagine she has no feeling or sensation from her waist down and is completely reliant on her wheelchair. I remember the first time she met my parents and I told them she’s a paraplegic and will never walk again. My parents couldn’t get over that fact and to make it worse she tried doing a transfer out of her wheelchair and got her legs all wrong and ended up falling out her wheelchair. It was awful to see

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. The everyday difficulties become part of the routine of the daily activities. I am impressed by your stamina. Good to see. I don't drive so I walk a lot and want to push my daily routine with long hikes. People think I am crazy. I tend to be reclusive so I like to connect with RUclips people and get to know them and I have met some wonderful people who really make my life fulfilling. I love watching your daily routines because you are teaching me what I am missing. You are a blessing to me. Thanks for all that you do.

Hi im a 58 year old lady with paraplegia as I have spina bifida I will say u put ne to shame im totally reliant on carers and helpers can I ask how you empty your bladder and fo you limit your drinking thank you so much I didn't say I was born with spina bifida ❤
Looks exhausting, Brittany! Maybe because I'm now 60 years old and things are a bit harder as you age. But you still have a busy schedule and are quite motivational. Don't forget to schedule "Brittany time" into that busy schedule! Stay happy and fulfilled! ❤
I only look productive lol. Most of the time I'm like a ping ping ball and never know what I'm doing. I think it helped vlogging lol, kept me on track!
My hip and neck problems are nothing I think you are great 🎉keep it up.
Hi. If u chew on a clove (do not swallow) it takes away the garlic smell. also if u rub your fingers with the knife they won’t smell. And if u take a vitamin c at night it helps eliminate the bladder infection with the acid. I have done these and they work. God bless you

Your energie is wonder me, I’m sinds in the wheelchair and the f*cling pain so tired that I live only for 5 hours on a day, I hope that it wil be better, I’m incomplete and you’re so stronger and your had a complete spine injury.. respect and love your love in live..
Its hard to imagine how I have gotten as far as I have doing what I dont do! You have a great routine! I feel lucky to have found your video! Ive learned so much in the first minute then i have in 2 years!
Thank you for making this video. I occasionally watch videos like this when I'm feeling sorry for myself and need some perspective. I am not a paraplegic but I've got two totally shot feet at 34 years old. I've had total of 8 foot and ankle surgeries and while they were all worth it, I've got a massive stiffness, loss of joint density, and scar tissue problem now. These surgeries have taken a massive toll on my hips and shoulders just from being bed bound so long. Currently I can't do the things a normal 60 year old would do, much less a 34 year old. Physically I am twice my age. 3 years ago I was flying around the world. But I feel ashamed feeling sorry for myself because I can still walk and there is hope for continued improvement with time according to my doctors so I shouldn't complain. If I really push myself I can walk a couple miles in a day, but rarely do. I haven't shopped for my own groceries or had a night out in over 3 years. It is impossible coping with this level of loss. I can't accept it. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope that in another 3 years I'll maybe be 70% of my old self again and be able to do at least some of those things again.
You are not alone, you are stronger than you think.

Great day to show a "day in the life of" video. It was nice to see everyone from the show in a "non-show" setting. I'm just curious, did you know all or any of the others on the show before it started filming? Anyways, loved all of this video. No worries about the condition of the house. Another interesting video! We both enjoyed watching it. Over the past 3 years since the start of COVID, we’ve done a lot with Zoom - meetings, services, Bingo, funerals - but not Exercises with friends. I may have to try that.

Hi! Thank you for sharing your life with us! As a newly paraplegic, I've learned lots. I am wondering since it was an older video, but do you still recommentd those removable toilet seat pad/cushions or have you found something better? I think I can get rid of the commode over my toilet and go with something a little more normal, people are afraid to use my bathroom because it looks like they entered a medical facility.

I used to get UTI's every other month. This went on for years and it was terrible. In September of 2022, I started squeezing a fresh lemon into a glass of water or tea every morning. I haven't had a UTI since! Just figured I'd share cause lemon's smell better than garlic :)
LOVE egg on toast! I thought I was the only one! I just made some for breakfast--yum, yum! For those in the US (can't get it in Canada unless you want to pay a small fortune for shipping...I drink Comfort tea for bladder infections. Like Brittney's tea...it's all organic and has liquorice root, peppermint, ginger root, rose hips, fennel and hibiscus flower.

At the 13:00 mark with weights... Turn your thumbs up when you swing from your side up. There is a trainer call Christy Ennis who put videos up and shows correct way to exercise. How your doing it puts pressure on your rotator..

What vacuum is that? It looks like it's easy to use. We have hard floors and just use a broom. Granted I have plenty of kids to help but using the broom from the wheelchair when I want to do it myself isn't the best.
it's a Shark stick vac! Works good! But get the cordless one!

Hi...watch your videos & enjoy them, some have taught me things to help myself but I don't always comment. You have male friends who are in wheelchairs, my question for them is how do you deal with the dangling male parts when getting dressed or transfering from a chair to the toilet and vice versa?
lol in just asked this of my male friends. They said they re-adjust the boys after they transfer to make sure they aren't stuck lol

I eat garlic too. Didn’t know it helped with bladder infections. Just thought it helped me stay healthier. I self cath 4x/day. Enjoy ur video. 🙂

@@EmpoweredPara I eat garlic in my food and add a little raw honey to the minced garlic. I live alone with my little dog. He isn't bothered if I smell like garlic. 🤣

It was interesting! Also with your kids, you should make your son clean it out. If he has to clean it, then he'll learn not to do it anymore. I understand not making your kids do everything, but we need to teach them things. I have way too many guy friends who don't even know how to sweep or what a strainer for spaghetti is. We think they will just grow up knowing this stuff but all knowledge must be passed on through doing.

I know a quadriplegic (no hand function) who taught herself to tie her shoes. It took her 7 months to learn and 20 minutes to tie one shoe.
