I just attended the concert of Skid Row last night in Surabaya, Indonesia. It was indeed a party though some of me kinda missed the high pitch of Sebastian Bach when he screams it with all his might. Johnny Solinger is indeed a man with lots of warmth. He really knows how to get close to Skid Row fans.
Jesus, I hope he has it better than this. He's pitchy and generally awful here, by his normal standards. HOWEVER, I would guess that has to do with his voice being shot from touring, not being completely warmed up, as well as some possible opening song monitor issues. Great performer though, I miss that over the top macho energy. It was fun back in the day... EDIT-Oh yeah, not warmed up--just watched Monkey Business from the same show and he nails it.
How any critic back in the day can lump this in with Poison, Ratt, Cinderella, and Britny Fox is beyond the scope of any human being with 1 brain cell.
What's even more hard to comprehend is that all of metal (hair or no hair) was just about to be wiped almost off the face of the earth by the surging grunge wave...
You got me forced to crack my lids in two I'm still stuck inside the rubber room I gotta punch the clock that leads the blind I'm just another gear in the assembly line-oh no The noose gets tighter around my throat But I ain't at the end of my rope 'Cause I won't be the one left behind Can't be king of the world If you're slave to the grind Tear down the rat racial slime Can't be king of the world if you're slave to the grind. Yes indeed You might beg for mercy to get by But I'd rather tear this thorn from my side 'Cause I won't be the one left behind Can't be king of the world If you're slave to the grind Tear down the rat racial slime Can't be king of the world if you're slave to the grind. Last moment: just drop kicks the mic into the crowd! Sheeeesh! It was awesome, but...You'd think S'baz woulda learnt the lesson from when he got sued for everything he'd gotten from the first two records/tours.. for pegging that glass bottle back into the crowd that time. Some F@#$wit had pegged a glass coke bottle at his head - I forget if it hit him or not...but enraged, he reacted and pegged the projectile right back towards the direction it had come....but unfortunately did not hit the the intended target (which, to be fair, was extremely unlikely!). Instead, he sconned some sweet teenage girl, right in her face. Blood was pouring her face - oh it looked BAAAA-AAAAD! He got sued for ALL his earnings from both Skid Row self-titled LP....AND Slave to the Grind (which, imo, was Skidders' peak, definitive album . But in any case, it was a commercial success. And S'baz had to hand IT ALL over! Ouch!)
It was the opening number of the show. I noticed that on a lot of shows on this tour he wasn't very strong the first song or two, and then he'd be great the rest of the show. I'm guessing he just wasn't warming up before hitting stage.
He comes out of the gate like a wild bull on crack and he simply doesn't have enough breath left in his lungs to produce any more power than this, which has always been Bach's only downfall live. It comes down to preferences, but it's either an over the top high energy aggressive metal show or less of that but with more consistent vocals. Some vocalists can do both, like Bruce Dickinson, but even he isn't thrashing around to this extent. Bach injured himself not too long ago and was unable to go so bat-shit crazy, and he said in an interview afterwards that he never realized how much better his vocals can be when he's not overdoing the stage antics. I love it all and don't mind sacrificing some vocal precision for a show this intense, but it's good he realized it eventually because maybe now he'll find a better balance between the two.
@@mrsadistik2800 he blew his voice out somewhere around 1993, .... He nvr really got it back , now he uses autotune like everyone else, n he surely needs it, to sing most any song off the first album, n I'm glad he uses it because for a few years there ..... It was really hard to watch him struggle on stage to not even come close to his former self, he sounds pretty good w autotune, but u really can't fake the real deal, cause I can listen to anything from 87 to 92 and his voice gives me goose bumps every time I listen, but now listening to him and him using autotune. . . I nvr even come close to getting goose bumps, it sounds ok but u just can't replicate the sound of his voice in his youth, they can match the pitch but u can't recreate that frequency and resonance that came from his voice back in the day in those high vocals he did !
They were into more drugs and booze by then. I was them during the original tour for their title album and they were really good and very polished. They opened for Bon Jovi at the time.
Skid row One of the most vastly under appreciated metal band of all time
cuz they came in the end of rock epoch
They weren't a metal band
@@bernknezevic7736Eran haré rock y tenían cosas de heavy
@@bernknezevic7736 well some songs they had were way heavier than a lot of metal bands songs so...
as close to the perfect metal song as possible.
His attitude, music, voice, everything makes me happy.
Me too❤
The energy was off the charts
heavy metal 🖤 🤘
No my friend. This is heavy fucking metal. 😊
Most under rated album ever!!! Swallowed in a sea of grunge when it was released!!
JPJ3016 it was #1 when it came out
Stephen Michael yeah this album was big for them when it came out.whats he mean underrated lol
This was fucking huge for them. The next album...grunge nommed the fuck outta that
fucking grunge, even if over time it hasn't stood up to comparison, it has messed up the growth of very good new metal bands!
Grunge was so bad Cobain gave a mossberg a blow job
A reunion would hit the spot.
この登場、かっこよかったなぁ〜!アドレナリン、エンドルフィンMAX

Just saw Bach on his solo tour. He’s still got it 🤘

His vocals do not seem powerful enough in this performance, and s-bas usually kills it, not to mention this is in their prime too

Agreed...sounds like he didnt warm up...plus a lot of blow was in his life at this time. Still a great front man

x 154 to fast. I get why he was unhappy.
Is Bach speaking Vincebonics?
Taylor live lmao as long as the tape doesn't break

SKID ROW > GNR. Just saying.
vinicius bernardes i so agree
But Skid Row + GN'R tour = 🔥🔥🔥
...waaaay way to fast.
Drums counted them in right, but, guitar players...🙄
Shit!
Detone 👎
Bach is awesome but he didn’t sound his best here.
The band gives the singer shit and yet the band cant play the song right live. He should have quiet and found a good band.
Sebastian really cannot sing, amazing what studio effects can do
