Glad to see this is still being enjoyed by many :)
I managed to recover the password to this account just because I want to add this song was originally written and recorded by Barbra Amesbury. It's as beautiful of a tune as ever and proper credit is due. I apologize for never including that in the original description of this video.
Title pretty much sums it up, this time it really is the uncensored version. Enjoy :) - Видеоклипы
No one has his voice. Grit and soul. What an artist.
Yup, a one-of-a-kind voice.
Mitch Ryder NEARLY came close!
Robotnik does
One of the most underrated artists of his time. I loved his killer version of "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"
with kathi mcdonald..
He was a tall drink of water. He lent his name and his time to many charity events in my years living in Vancouver. Every time I saw him or spoke to him I was always overwhelmed with his height. He would occasionally show up at the Irish Pub I worked at, the same one where we hosted a memorial jam session in his honour. The music and the musicians were amazing that knew him and worked with. We closed the place just for them. Man he was tall
If only he was still around today.
Saw him in Toronto.
saw him once..I'm only 5'2" yes he was a tall drink of Guiness....
Wow Dude! What a wonderful experience and memory!
Great share. Hope you're doing well all this time later. Sending love and good vibes brother.
Love this, long John baldry, was a blues rock legend , gave us rod, sir ej, god bless him
grew up listening to Long John Baldry's raspy voice, then in January of '79 his album Baldry's Out was released and it became a fast favorite ... this and 'The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore' have to be my two favorite songs of his - as many have said 'gone but certainly not forgotten'
Can't leave out his "don't lay no boogie woogie on the king of rock and role. Take care.
Such a great song and performance. You can hear the heartaches begin as soon as he sings. Fabulous. So underrated.
thinking of you Long John, you are immortal!!
love you
Digging my old "friend" this morning--just really needed him!
Remembering a beautiful friend & all the great times we had. I saw him & his fab band at the Elmocombo in Toronto maybe in the late 70's early 80's it's hard to remember those days clearly anymore...
El Mocambo 1977 (also referred to as Live at the El Mocambo) is a live album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 13 May 2022. It was recorded on 4 and 5 March 1977 at the El Mocambo club in Toronto, Canada.
i love this song , takes me way way back when life seemed so much easyer .
Easier.
oh man. no doubt. high school boy with his whole life ahead and full of hope. have tried and succeeded to live this way. but now as life winds down...
Saw Him in Winnipeg many times loved when Kathy was with.
This man deserves a PRRRRRRRRRRROMOTION!
Happiness is always so much more enjoyable when it's based on the misery of millions
REFERENCING LONG JOHN BALDRY'S EPIC PERFORMANCE VOICING DR. IVO ROBOTNIK IN THE AOSTH CARTOON AS USUAL I SEE!!!
Gone but never forgotten.
His Music will forever live on.
Always loved this song.
I was still at school when I discovered Long John, and that was back in the Sixties when he was so important in developing the talents of so many great artists like Elton and Rod. "Let the Heartaches Begin," was probably his biggest hit then, it's still a great play over fifty years later.
Love this song...great memories being a teen growing up..thanks for the smile
Such a Great Song by an Underrated artist.
Just found the vinyl album Baldry's Out!,in my collection. I saw him live @ The Colonial Tavern in Toronto in the late 1970's & hearing "A Thrills A Thrill". It was a great show & it was uncensored!
I was lucky enough to see long in concert at a night club in Ontario,Canada.
An unmistakable voice singing an amazing song. Thanks for posting this!
Great song. Long before my time, but still love it.
I have a memory of the man, he sent someone to ask me a question. We were in a restaurant next to Little Sister's bookstore. We never talked. I loved his music. End of story.
This song has been around for thirty years. What idiot would be offended by it?
Christians
Idiots are offended!
@@jzneter736 I am a Christian , been a Baldry fan , love this song .
@@allpointcleaning1997 bless you then
THAT PESKY BLUE HEDGEHOG
This was also written by 70s singer-songwriter Barbra Amesbury, before she transitioned and so is credited to Bill Amesbury.

2020 and still this guys rocking. The guy used to pop in The George & Dragon on Wardour Street/Shaftsbury Ave in the day. We should have given the stage upstairs to the buskers in the day but the old man would never allow it. So I used to pop to Leicester Square on my nights off to The Western Bar and listen to them all there.
Such a great song
This Long John fella was pretty groovy
I think he and Janis Joplin should have had babies probably
still loving the big limey years after he passed
Great artist good times in those days.
a true artist and and a real classic piece of cultural music
This man is owed, the love bruv.,, A long John loving you always our bruv 👍 love an stuff.. 👍🇬🇧🙏🤣😍
Great song, nice production value!
this could have been recorded last week no change great song great guy missed
:) I used to LOVE this song when I was @ 10, didn't really understand a lot of the references except "I know a boy who is growing tits..." . It was an album that was around my house, my older sister had seen him a few times and bought it. I later met him on the Broadway bus in Vancouver, he was walking with a cane then. He was very interested in me, not so much in my girlfriend, but that was him.
I haven't heard it for years, but I knew I'd find it on here, and I still remembered it pretty much word for word. And, I noticed something I never would have recognized when I was young -- this was his version of the song "Take A Walk On the Wild Side". Similar in pacing and content, the lazy sax, and the female voices in the chorus. Both songs stand on their own and are a reminder that folks have always been freaky.
Oh the memories....lol... cheers
Great classic, I may only be 19 but great music shouldn't be associated to certain age groups. This song is extremely relatable for me being a bisexual young man, There is absolutely nothing offensive about this mans music, in fact I plan on showing this to my boyfriend when he gets back from fishing.
can relate.
lucifer satan
Why don’t you try turning to the Lord, especially with your RUclips name. Not too late friend.
Beyond 1000
Why don’t you not worry about him and your lord. Maybe he’s just fine the way he is and happy with who he is so your lord isn’t something he needs. Maybe you should check out Lucifer satan’s ways if life. For all anyone knows that’s what will get you your life after death shit. So really I just thought maybe you shouldn’t decide he needs anything and be happy that he seems to be happy. 🤷🏼♂️ It’s just a thought. ✌🏼🤓❤️
@@beyondonethousand nobody likes you. Go away.

For all those who don't know: the "John" in Elton John is this man!
Elton John's song 'Someone saved my life tonight' was about Long John. He was suicidal and Long John went to his rescue.
That I did not know.
Long John saved Elton's life
@@barbaraharney3050 Long John was the Sugar Bear referred to in the song.
Elton came from blues sax player Elton Dean
He played in a small bar while living in Dundas Ontario in the early 80's. Signed my Baldry's Out album. Pissed to the gills.
"... the gays are straights, the straights are queers and the bi's just call everybody dears.. I know a boy who is growin' tits..." Written by a Canadian transgender. But we didn't know then what we do know now. All they wanted was acceptance.
Thanks Mate, You and JJCale
It looks like 15 people don't know good music.
I wouldn't have known any of his music were it not for CFNY in its heyday - 78 - 81.
Little yellow house main st Brampton, he used to play at Spankys on Kennedy Rd
I just discover him and now I’m hopelessly in love with his music.
new favorite song
Thank you Eggman
Dr. Robotnik says gay rights
The chord after nitrate sniffs is wicked.

A GREAT MAN, NOT BUT LOVE
I just recovered it.

3 years? Ooh,
I lament. Rainbow 🌈 lamentations. Somewhere mid 80s, Yale Hotel, after my shift at Le Gavroche, I locked my bike to the lamppost, and went into the bar and
for a beer and free music. Free.
Maybe 23 people in the place. I took a seat at a front table, and before the waitress (in the Sky [Replacements] the Universe loves the Waitress, and so do I.
{Hey, DJ man, you monitoring this too? You lame brain. … Ch-ch-ch-changes!}
Anyhow, the musician finished his show. Everyone exited the main doors onto Granville.
This giant, aging man was now up on the old stage now unplugging the amp, coiling the cords.
I was still half stunned by his performance, sitting there. And then I thought: give him a hand. So I assisted loading the amp and guitars into his van.
“Man, those are good songs!” I said, or something nearly idiotic.
“Thank you,” he said, in his strangely deep voice.
And the joke is on me: I didn’t know who Long John Baldry was.
I did soon enough. Although he seemed to remain a Westend secret for decades.
Thank you, Long John.
sad some of the best are virtually unknown till they pass like nick drake.
Unknow ? says you, you dumb fuck
He was gay - Wikipedia.
Thank you for uploading? Tech geek here, so tired up "political correctness" every time you open your mouth you're bound to offend somebody, unwittingly. A great song, a great "cat" - what an orchestra plays in heaven huh? Namaste Z.
this is possibly the LGBT communities new anthem, a classic that was banned when it was released, because of OBSENITY, !!!!!!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL AND PROVACTITIVE LYRICS, what obscenities???? listen to this hymn to freedom of all kinds, when lyrics reallt did make a difference.
Ya.

GO AHEAD,,TELL ME HE IS WRONG...A THRILL IS A THRILL
AND HE PROCLAIMS IT EVEN IN PARADISE...OKED BY GOD
Peenus!
Sorry, not even ball park to the original from Mitch Ryder. Album: Never Kick a Sleeping Dog.
Nothing special about this guy - it just shows everything we already knew (but some of us are afraid to come out with): it's enough to be a "gay" (an euphemism for "homosexual"), and you are already on a path to glory - you don't have to be talented at all. Oh, wait a minute, he was "very tall"! Really? So what? Why didn't he try to become a basketball player?
This is just a lie. To this day even in the most progressive societies, entertainers lose work because of their sexuality.
