Reached No. 2 nationally in Australia(1 wk), kept from No.1 by The Village People "You Can't Stop The Music". Was also No.3 for 5 weeks. It is still my favourite version of the song....at the time l thought it was an original....l had so much to learn.
Some great songs only reached No.2 on the Australian charts in 1980
1/ Dreaming My Dreams With You-Colleen Hewett (5 wks)
2/ Another Brick In The Wall Part II- Pink Floyd (5 wks)
3/ Brass In Pocket - The Pretenders (3 wks)
4/ Coming Up -Paul McCartney (3 wks)
5/ What I Like About You- The Romantics ( 2 wks)
      6/ Xanadu -ELO/ONJ (2 wks)
      7/ Babooshka - Kate Bush (3 wks)
8/ Master Blaster - Stevie Wonder (1 wk)

This song (amongst others) would be played every day in the morning for months in between cartoons in Australia. I was under 10 years old and because I heard it so many times, it always stayed with me and never heard it again until recently after searching for it. Best version of this song I've ever heard.
The other song I remember they always played continuously was Shandi (by KISS). I remember in concert, Paul Stanley would say we always play Shandi in Australia because it's so loved here and they wouldn't play it anywhere else. If they knew why it was such a hit, lol.

Saw them together in Bremerton....fantastic show!
Being in love with one another didn't hurt their rendition of this song.

Researching song 'Morning Dew' by Bonnie Dobson brought me here. So he recorded on his 1980 album. Rod Stewart n Elton John were in bands Baldry led also before fame.

There was a record shop in Caledonia, Ontario where I got this as a 45. I also remember getting Meco's Star Wars there as well as John Williams' Star Wars OST. It folded open as it was a double album and there were pictures from the movie inside. The only other record I can remember getting there might have been a Boston album that had More Than a Feeling on it. The paper sleeved 45's were on a metal wire display rack showing the top twenty. There may have been a fishbowl filled with the plastic centers for the 45's on the counter. But this was 35 years ago before they built the 2nd water tower behind the IGA.
