They replaced the motor with a dry powered. While it's not as epic, it's better for the elevator, as it doesn't put as much strain on the motor as a submersible.

@@nicodo123 well now I’ve filmed the new one twice now, but it was when the fan was on. Also the glass is now a mirror where when you are not in the glass part it is kinda annoying because it is hard to see through.

Just filmed motor room for the second time because it was broken on Sunday. Has a insanely epic motor room sound. The oil level was about 2 inches below the minimum level which is normal for this elevator. In this video it had to be at least 6 because even when it's that low as I said it barely does anything. Edit: just realized that the apartment building outside this building was still being built lol. You need to come back here.

That pump/motor actually sounded really good. A bit sad that pump is no longer there as the replacement motor doesn't sound quite as good (but the new one doesn't sound bad either).
I'm sad that motor is gone now, it sounded amazing.

Amazing, you're lucky to have several rising sounds on your hydraulic lifts, in Europe it's always the same sound! and in addition they no longer want hydraulic lifts, they favor those with counterweights, I just hope that it will stay with you!

When we went to Atlanta together, we were going to see this elevator but it was closed due to the motor going out.

@Funky Kong Yes the motor has been replaced. There is a video of it. While its not as good as this one the new motor still sounds pretty cool.

As I revisit this epic video, I remind myself that Minnesota has built some of the best motors on their elevators even though I always say to myself that Westinghouse and Montgomery made the best motors when they were around

This thing has been shut off for a year now. From what the workers told me, this thing would break almost monthly, and people would get stuck in it ALL the time. I hope this amazing elevator can be put back into service soon..
I hope they run it again someday.

@Chelsea Menges According to Aaron, the motor died, so they had to put a new one in.
@@xHadesStamps they actually relaxed the whole pump unit system which consisted of 2 pumps!
@@qeelevators2960 I'm assuming you mean they replaced the entire pump unit?
@@xHadesStamps Yep. I was talking to a worker there and they said it has 2 dry powered pumps. Sadly I forgot to ask if I could see the motor room.

It has non-glass doors (external) and glass doors (internal).

I did not think hydraulic elevators could go that high.
It looks like a roped hydraulic. A traditional inground, and probably a holeless hydraulic (even with a telescoping piston, most likely), wouldn't be able to.

Actually they replaced both of the submersible power units with new MEI dry powered units. This thing is so big and talk that it needs 2 power units.

When you go down to one you will see the room is dark that's why I want it 100 times brighter but it will make it 200 times brighter and it'll be too bright inside the elevator when you're recording with the Sun

@@PNWElevatorAviation Did you hear the pump on that floor then? I totally thought it was in the basement level because you can see into the basement through the loading dock but I couldn’t see the motor room door through the glass hallway door. Also I didn’t want to go in the hallway because 1: I am not supposed to be in that hallway and 2: there is cameras. If anyone that likes elevators stay there and has a yt channel I want them to ask to see this things motor room because this elevator is such a one of a kind elevator.
It sounds like Roblox Schinder MT elevator (sadly modernized) in Elevator Testing.

now it is not glass anymore :(
Sadly the motor might die a second time. They havent refilled it in 3 months and it does low on oil for 5 out of the 10 seconds leveling. Hope they stop neglecting this thing

very squeaky doors too they mustve oiled them down or something they shouldve used the time to also fill up the motor oil tank I think this thing was too expensive to fill with fresh oil so they left it alone
